P&O Cruisers - What are things like where YOU are?
yorkshirephil replied to Host Sharon's topic in P&O Cruises ( UK )
Funny old day here, I sat out for breakfast in lovely warm sunshine before the heavens opened, then this afternoon we had hail before that cleared to a beautiful evening. Well with all these diseases knocking about watch out for the new one -
Covid, Economy or Staff Shortages

I don't see the failings of P&O having a great impact on the Carnival share price as they are only a small part, I think the upcoming recession and general global fears are probably having more impact. When things are tight people have a habit of hanging on to their cash. -
Ventura Cabins near Launderette

We were quite close to the laundrette on a 35 nighter, the opening hours were 08:00-22:00 then. I used to nip in and iron the odd shirt. Never noticed any noise specific to the laundrette. -
We can be a canny lot.

Why not do the test before you set off, as long as the test is negative you just have to wait for the certificate to be sent to you.
-
Have a great cruise.

Plus they keep interrupting the music to tell you they are getting an unpresidented number of calls, and that your call is important to them.

Randox is OK for P&O, you can put upto 4 people on one account on the app. We have bought 2 extra tests, one reason is that we have another cruise in November and they have a good shelf life but they will be handy to have just in case there was an issue with the upcoming test next week.

P&O Cruisers - What are things like where YOU are?

Same here, we were having a quick look and Mrs YP said "I thought we were going on Arcadia to the Caribbean in November, it says Aurora here" clearly an error, unless of course they are selling Arcadia and swapping the cruise to Aurora and bumping them off, easy to see how rumours start. -

I think so too, especially as they have some nice long itineraries that were very popular in the days of CMV. We have already booked a last minute cruise to Greenland in June and have seen a couple we fancy for the future. -

This could be an interesting one, an FCC is always an FCC once used against a future cruise. This is the case with our upcoming Arcadia cruise. We sat on our FCC for almost 2 years before the right cruise came along, we felt we were helping the cause by leaving the money with P&O. If Arcadia is sold depending on whether we have paid the balance we will expect a refund of all monies accepting that we would lose the 25% bonus on the FCC. It also depends on what the sweetener is from P&O and whether it suits our needs. Ultimately Arcadia will go, we all know that, we just don't know when. As a bit of a gambling man I think we will be OK for November, if not then there will be alternatives, with or without P&O or a ship. It would be nice to know in advance and if the ship were to be sold after we have paid the balance that will move P&O further down the pecking list when looking at future holidays, probablly one place above Butlins and one below Maplins. -

Not necessarily John, I remember going on the penultimate Thompsons Spirit cruise, the Spirit was leaving the fleet, she had a lot of fans who wanted one last cruise as they knew she was going. Similar thing with an old Fred ship. -

Smoke and mirrors Andrew, we have a cruise booked on Arcadia November and I can't say that I will be either pleased or disappointed if she leaves the fleet. There will be other opportunities whether it be P&O or not. -

But to be fair it is something that P&O are good at. -

Best ever for me was The Boss at Roundhay park in Leeds, still got the T-shirt, and it still fits. -
Big story a few weeks ago, an MP got caught looking at porn during parliament and resigned, his story was that he had been looking at tractors and the porn appeared. Unfortunately this is not uncommon with links and people getting all sorts of stuff on their phones, ironically the guy could have been telling the truth but who was going to believe him?
-
Wasn't tractors by any chance?😁
-
My guess: not a chance.
