  1. I'm not intimately familiar with VPN configuration. Can you do this with just the GL-AXT1800, or do you need to configure it as client and connect to a VPN service that offers wireguard as the protocol?
  2. Thank you - can let this one go then! LOL Much appreciated!
  3. I was looking in the App, and cannot find where, if anywhere, which nights are designated for Evening Chic attire. Does Celebrity post these in advance, or is it simply necessary to wait until we are aboard? (Cruise begins in 5 days)
  4. Awwww, heck yeah! I'm in tux on evening chic night, because that's the only time I get to be James Bond. Getting dressed to the nines, before dinner, and not changing afterwards, because I want share my intensely suave and attractive self with the rest of the passengers, should they find that a pleasant thing. 😎 Also more than happy, dressed like that, to sidle up to the bar by the pool and hang out with a fellow passenger dressed in cutoffs and a tank top. Or anything in between. It's all good! 🤙
  5. I guess I have a twist on "booking the kayak excursion more than once"... I definitely want to do this. Did anyone find it so cool that they would recommend doing it twice?
  6. I apologize if this has been answered many times - have done some searching but not found clear input, and interested in others' experiences. I understand that boots are required for wet landings, and that Seabourn provides them. I am considering buying my own. Can folks advise: 1. What are the "make and model" of the boots Seabourn provides? 2. Did you find them comfortable for walking around on the landings that required them? 3. What were the distances that you walked in them on those landings where you wore the boots provided by Seabourn? Thanks very much in advance to anyone who is willing to let me benefit from their experience!!
  7. Sorry, not "Health Check", but "wellness check", and it was actually 1:30, which is still too late for lunch. I assume this is simply my scheduled arrival time. There's nothing in my Travel Info that I would think would trigger any special consideration, except maybe my security photo is ugly. I live in the US, supplied answers to everything... There's a Health Status questionnaire left, but that is supposed to be filled out the day prior to sailing.
  8. I selected 11:30 boarding check-in time when I did my online check-in, but now I checked the Celebrity app on my phone, and it says I needed to select a Health Check time, and the earliest was 3:30?? Is this the same thing? I guess I'm definitely going to get to see how it goes getting there early!! I paid for the VIP package thing which includes a lunch I'm going to miss if I wait until 3:30 to check-in for boarding!
  9. What is the earliest possible arrival time, for Ft. Lauderdale? 10:00AM? Thanks!
  10. I see where I can make a "reservation" in my cruise planner, and get a discount. But it does not show a timeslot? Is it necessary to schedule those after boarding?
  11. The main options are the Private Beach or the Private Beach. There's also a highly rated and popular excursion to the Private Beach. 😉
  12. I guess the one real question I had was about the bid "per person". I'm travelling solo, and booked as such in my existing cabin. I'm not sure whether the bid "per person" would be multiplied by 2 and charged that way if I win, or if the bid I am submitting really is just that amount, for me, and maybe I need to bid higher on the assumption that I am bidding against groups of 2 travelling together
  13. I'm a newbie... Why do you not print luggage tags? I was figuring on printing the tags and handing bags to the porters. Is there a twist? Thanks!!
  14. I appreciate the perspective - in fact, the more I think about it, I think I will be pleased either way. If I'm "out of place" dressing to the nines, I think I would enjoy being that guy. 🙂
  15. Is there a good thread that goes into the in's and out's of bidding for upgrades? I travel solo, and am interested in maybe bidding on upgrades, but other than what I can glean from the interface the whole process seems kind of opaque to me. (Which I'm sure is good for the business, but maybe not so good for me as a bidder!)
  16. Cool - I hadn't known this! Sounds like a significantly more mainstream etymology than the Judo thing! LOL
  17. Coming at this topic from perhaps a different direction than many! 😎 I totally understand that some don't like to go formal, or chafe at being required to do so, but I dig dressing up and rarely have occasion to nowadays. I'm on Equinix on a TA in April, and think it would be fun to dress formally on Evening Chic nights. I'm sailing solo, so it's just my own dressing preferences I need to consider (not a spouse, partner, etc). How many guys dress in a tux/dinner jacket on Evening Chic nights? How out of place would I be? I'm inclined to dress to the nines no matter what, just for the fun. But still interested to know how many other passengers do.
  18. "Rashguard" comes from "rash guard" which is worn to protect against "gi rash" by practitioners of Judo, and likely other grappling combat disciplines (I used to work out Judo). When someone grips your gi (the top garment with long sleeves and overlapping front, secured by a belt) and pulls you or tightens up their grip or whatever, your skin can get caught in the folds of the gi and bruising can occur. This is bruising is known as "gi rash". Wearing a "rash guard" allows the gi to slip over the underlying surfaces without catching/pinching your skin. Quick and dirty explanation - I'm sure there are variants, but you get the idea. 😎
  19. I am travelling solo on a TA cruise, with a fare-only (+ prepaid tips) veranda cabin and no Captains Club points. This looked like a good value to me, especially because I had already booked the premium wi-fi for two devices at the same price as I was being offered the premium access at sale price. So I cancelled the upgraded Wi-Fi and bought the premium access. I don't have any other packages, because I don't drink enough of anything to justify the package price, so I don't really have any perks. I liked the idea of being able to get room service any time without any special charge. The rest of it struck me as "nice to have" without being critical, but cool if it turned out that they provided a benefit. Since I was getting all the stuff other than Wi-Fi at the price I had previously paid for just the Wi-Fi alone, it was pretty much a no-brainer for me. Your mileage may vary... 😎
