  1. We tried to get some soft serve on Divina, and we were told that we'd be charged, so we passed as it was an overindulgence to begin with. We spoke with the YC director about the misunderstanding with the soft serve and how the literature out there made no sense. He essentially said there was an oversight and was working with Shoreside to get it clarified because there's no reason that soft serve should be free for those with a lower non-alcoholic package, but not included for someone with the YC premium package. Good to know we can go to the concierge if it were to happen again.
  2. Yes, we had one bottle we could choose. The bottle this time however was a fifth, when it had been larger in the past. They had Absolut, Tanqueray, Bombay and I must confess I do not know the wines. We had previously (two months ago) had Belvedere, so the Absolut was a little bit of a let down, but it seems to be based on what they can provision. For us, it's not a huge deal as you can get all you can handle in the lounge, but just a change nevertheless.
  3. Hi all. As I'm getting bombarded with offers from Carnival (three mailers in 3 days!) it made me remember that I've never seen a thing from Celebrity's casino club. While I know I can call and see what's available, I'm just wondering, does BCC ever send out mailers or emails about free cruises? We haven't cruised with Celebrity since February and had good play, so I would think we'd have enough time for them to be ready for us to return.
  4. You guys are making me really nervous! The problem with the room being booked is I'm afraid it was because the room was already assigned to someone else. I had to book it as 4 cruises because my husband will be staying on board for the long cruises solo while I come join for the shorter ones (the first and third cruises). One of us is freshly retired...one of us still works, lol. We had hoped that he would be able to stay in the same cabin the whole time, and the cruise consultant had acted like it was the third leg, so he could use the YC concierge once on board to help him. With it being the first (and shortest) cruise, we don't really want to upset people's room bookings, but I would feel better being able to help him "nest" given how long he will be on board. For clarification, he has a regular YC deluxe booked, and the room he's trying to switch is next door to him, so we don't think it would be a big deal as its an even swap. I am always nervous to call MSC for anything so I had hoped there'd be a way I could monitor in case someone cancels or upgrades and he could snag it. Additionally, I had one more question. I noticed that his 2 solo legs did not given him the 50/pp voyager credit. For the 2 I'm joining him, we got that for us both, plus the 4th of July OBC, plus the book onboard credit. For the solos, he got the 500/200 but that was all. (Another thing I didn't catch when we were with the consultant when on board.) Again, trying to avoid calling...anybody know why it might've not been included? Thanks all. This is our first time doing something like this so I am learning a lot!
  5. We're fresh off Divina YC last week. Now, Divina is the only YC that we've been in, but we feel like it was excellent service all the way around. Luis is the maitre d of Le Muse and was making sure everyone was happy and would go above and beyond. I couldn't believe how good the grilled chicken was (from the "always available" portion of the menu). Dwi our butler was a joy! The only bad part of the entire cruise was that the TV wasn't working (worse than normal- 2 channels (Travel Channel showing a ghost show all the time, and the MSC safety video) intermittently, and the internet wasn't great for our streaming services even with the upgraded internet. We're weird and spend more time in our cabin than most people, so this probably wouldn't matter to anyone else. I can't recommend the Divina YC enough...I wish I could go back right now!
  6. We are sailing in September. I was surprised to see it was assigned, as I was expecting it wouldn't be until a week before hand. I didn't get any notification, I had logged in to My Cruise Planner to look up something else and just noticed it had been filled in while I was trying to find other info.
  7. Hello all. Booked 4 cruises while on board for the month of January. Got home and discovered that one of the four cabins is not the same assigned room (for the 1st cruise, a short 2 night) and the other 3 (the longer ones) are all in the same cabin back to back to back. Obviously, it'd be preferable to stay in the same one and not have to move. Is there an easy way to fix this before, or should I wait until I'm on the ship? The two cabins are next door to each other.
  8. Hi all. We did our first guarantee cabin because we had a casino deal that was "too good to be true". This is our first time doing guarantee, but since we're gamblers, we decided to roll the dice and see how it turned out. Well...we got our room, and it is located under the lido buffet on deck 15 mid-ship. I can't say we've ever had a room under the buffet. Is this going to be a noisy cabin? If so, can we call and request to try again on the cabin assignments? We are people who spend a good chunk of time in our cabin, and we keep pretty early hours comparatively speaking, so trying to have a peaceful cabin is pretty important to us. Interested in your collective wisdom and advice. TIA!
  9. I just did this yesterday as we never got the email offering an upgrade, and our favorite cabin (which was one category higher than what we booked) was still open. We sail Sunday, so time was of the essence. I worked with a really nice phone rep- but they were my second call. The first rep I had wasn't very informed and tried to charge me 2k for the upgrade. I hung up and called again. My second really nice person...385. I think the first person just needed more training to be honest. So...yes...it can be done but I'd strongly encourage you to get someone who sounds confident in what they are doing.
  10. We’ve tried to do this excursion twice and it gets cancelled every time due to wind. They say it’s due to the type of telescopes they use, and the wind messes with the tracking system. We’ll try again, but don’t get your heart set on it because it doesn’t seem to happen much.
  11. When I read this, I got really excited. But then I thought about using the app at sea…and how awful carnival internet can be. Hopefully mgm will beef up the technology on board…because right now, you might not get a bet to go through until the 4th quarter!
  12. Hi all. Cruising on my what appeared to be sold out cruise(but it’s not) that’s quickly approaching. I didn’t receive any emails about potentially upgrading my cabin. Is there any way to get the email generated easily? I have read enough on these boards to know sometimes calling customer service isn’t a good idea, but if we could score a deal on a grand deluxe (we’re in yc1) then…why not? Tia!
  13. Did you have to sign up to get these emails? Hubs is amethyst and we've never had ANY communication from BCC. I really just thought they waited on you to call them if you wanted to book a cruise and they'd say yes or no. Full disclosure...we have a comp cruise already booked for October...would that matter as far as emails go?
  14. Scottamemnon was right!! This morning around 10am….it opened up with all the rooms I had saw a few days ago and we are happily booked in our preferred room. Hoping to have our favorite butler once again!
  15. Hi All. Went to book a MSC Divina cruise today and everything is sold out except Bella! I just looked at it yesterday, and the thing was wide open! Any clue as to why the drastic change would happen? Do you think there's any hope that something would open up soon? It just seems odd given how low occupancy has been over the last several months. I called and the person on the other end also said it was sold out...but we know how shore-side customer service can be.
  16. Following! We agree about the poor tv choices. I Know you go on cruises to do other stuff, but we enjoy a show as we wind down for the evening. We’ve gone so far as to consider packing a DVD player and some dvds to fill in the gap. I’m not sure if they would let you hook it up, but would love to know if anyone else has had any luck before we drag it on.
  17. Divina's lounge is on 15, with its own mini crystal staircase coming down into the concierge area from 16. Nothing is very far away though, so any room in YC is a great room!
  18. We love Divina and would love to get a free cruise on her. We too have recently earned 30% coupons, but we have never seen an email. What address did it come from? I’d cry if it was stuck in a spam filter and found too late. Thanks!
  19. MSc is hanging out in port Canaveral and often will have great deals last minute, and they are sailing pretty empty lately. Probably a lot cheaper than Orlando over a holiday weekend.
  20. Ocean Key is amazing. I agree that just having a long time there (2 or 3 nights straight like ships do with Bermuda) would be awesome. I keep putting it on the surveys and telling anybody at MSC who might listen my "big idea" but so far...crickets.
  21. I really wish I understood their casino program. My husband earned a certificate for a "free cruise" but the casino host told us its only good for an interior bella, and well...we like the Yacht Club a whole lot, so we were advised that we could only get 30% off. Now, I'm not thumbing my nose at that...but it seems like there'd be some kind of in-between those two. The casino host and manager looked at us like we were crazy when we said no to the interior bella coupon so it's like...did we do something wrong?? Also, has anybody ever called and gotten some kind of players discount without the coupon just for being a gambler/based off past play? We're used to the big 3 traditional US lines that cater to gamblers so this is a steep learning curve.
  22. Good news! Our local lab came through and we got our results at 6pm. We had booked a test based on the advice here for a 2 hour rapid test in Merritt Island but have now cancelled them. We couldn’t get in with the Walgreens closest to the port but there were some in the surrounding areas (10 minutes away) in case anyone else needs one in the future. Our little town doesn’t offer anything but pcr tests…lesson learned…order more for the future!
  23. We’re on this sailing and I’m starting to worry about getting our test results back in a timely manner. Was hoping they would have it for a fee if you found yourself in the unfortunate position of not getting it back like anticipated. Anybody heard of such? I know other lines do.
