The antigen test is not the one that goes really far up your nostril. My daughter just had one done at CVS yesterday. You take one q-tip, and swirl it inside each nostril (about one inch) for 15 seconds. We did not pay anything, but we have insurance and are in NJ, so I don't know whether that is the case across the board. We received a phone call from the nurse practitioner about 30 minutes later telling us it was negative. I also received a text message with a link to the negative test result, which I could save as a PDF (I was able to email the PDF to myself so that I could print it out). I hope that helps!

Thank you for this info...and I am happy to hear that the antigen test is not so invasive!

Good question. My only advise is if you dont see it in writing on royals website I would not trust they will accept it. I wouldnt even trust a phone call to a rep. I wouldnt trust this forum when it comes to this either,no disrespect to anyone.

If you have access to cvs I would do it there. Less stress the day of embarkation.

we are all going to cvs for our antigen test. I know its accepted and dont want any more worry then necessary.

    just my opinion.

What is the antigen test? Is it the one that is real far up the nose? How fast does CVS give you the results? Is it free? Does anyone know if the required tests are administered the same way or what the difference is?

Thank you for your time....I am already stressing about getting this test for our Sept. cruise! I already had one test with the stick down my throat and it was not pleasant.

We hope that you and your family are remaining healthy and safe. We're reaching out to you with an important change to your upcoming Mariner of the Seas cruise.

We've recently had to make some modifications to our itinerary planning which impacts Mariner of the Seas' October 2021 - April 2022 sailings. As a result, Mariner's departures have been revised and therefore, we've made adjustments to its itineraries. This means your clients' upcoming cruise has unfortunately been cancelled.

We know how much time and effort go into planning your clients' vacation, and we're terribly sorry for the inconvenience. However, the good news is, Mariner of the Seas will still be offering similar itineraries from the same port - just on different days. So, starting April 2nd, 2021, to make this transition easier, we'll move them to a new Mariner of the Seas cruise with a similar itinerary.

While we know they'll have a great time onboard Mariner of the Seas, their vacation is important to us, along with the flexibility to make the best decision for them and those in their party. Below, we've outlined their options along with a few additional details.

Option 1: Stay onboard the newly redeployed Mariner of the Seas cruise

Beginning April 2nd, 2021, we're automatically moving them to a like-for-like stateroom on our new Mariner of the Seas sailing departing from Orlando (Port Canaveral), Florida.

Do you know anything about the Oct. 11-15, 2021 Mariner of the Seas cruise? The roll call was minimal and not current. Do you know if this is a chartered cruise?

    Thank you for the info!

I saw an article in Marine Link today (7/16/2021) about a contract for Unitor to install 450 pre-fabricated passenger cabins in both Enchantment of the Seas and Grandeur of the Seas but do not see any date for this project.  We have a cruise booked in December for Enchantment but no idea if this work will be before or after we sail.  Please message back if you have seen the drydock schedule as I cannot seem to find anything current for Enchantment and really no word as to when Royal will start sailing out of Baltimore.

    Thanks!

Just wanted you to know that when we were on the Celebrity Edge July 3 sailing, the Enchantment and Rhapsody were docked at St, Maarten. To be honest, both ships did not look good at all. Hopefully RC will be refurbishing or renovating them soon.

I saw where the NIH cancelled two studies of hydroxychloroquine because of its ineffectiveness, but I did not see where they cancelled any studies because of the reason you gave.  Where did you see this?

    https://www.biopharmadive.com/news/nih-hydroxychloroquine-coronavirus-trial-halt/580270/

    https://www.nih.gov/news-events/news-releases/nih-halts-clinical-trial-hydroxychloroquine

Yes , NIH cancelled the hydroxychloroquine...probably because they were pressured by the libs. There were many testimonials of people who were given it and had fabulous results! By the way, my sister (a nurse) has been on this drug for over 30 years (for RA) and has never been told that it could cause heart problems. From what the scientists have said, If you HAVE an existing heart problem, this drug may not be good for you.

  6. I would hope that RC would require proof that you have received a covid vaccine or at least sign off that you won't sue RC if you contract it while cruising. I hate shots, but am looking forward to this one! In fact, I would love to be one of the volunteers who are testing the vaccines. To think of how wonderful this vaccine will help the WORLD is so wonderful...and we will no longer have to feel like we are locked up, living in fear, or feel like we are living in a socialist/communist country!

You were linking to a prohibited web site.

For us the main dining rooms are fine.  If we really don't like the dinner we just head up to the buffet (or sometimes just for an added dessert) and/or order the Chops steak in the dining room.  The specialty rooms really don't serve the food we care for  and the UDP means you will get the same menu in each of the specialty restaurants every time you eat there.  Some folks like Ken prefer eating every meal in specialties - it is a very personal decision.  So check out the sample menus and see if they are what YOU want to eat for the cruise.

I agree...this is a very subjective decision. After experiencing the Oasis class ships' specialty restaurants, we feel it is just not worth the extra money, especially Wonderland, which looks interesting and unique but the food is awful. When we left there we had to go to the Windjammer to eat. Spending $716 (4 x 179) extra on food when there are so many complimentary places to eat on Symphony, just doesn't make sense to us. (Even though the tip is included if you pay pre-cruise, you really do feel like you should leave a tip).

  8. I'm on day 90 so I called my TA....only to be told that we would have to wait until 90 days from July 22!!!! I was told that the TA didn't send the paperwork to RC until April 8 which RC processed it on April 22 for our May 10 cruise that was cancelled by RC and on March 27 I told our TA to put in for a full refund.

Needless to say that I am VERY upset with our TA because they didn't send our request to RC on MARCH 27:( They had no explanation...just an "I'm sorry."

Should I try and call our credit card company which the amount has long been paid off?

Again and again I am asking myself, why RCCL is deliberately trashing its former reputation. Now the once friendly cruise line shows its real, ugly face. Very sad to realize how some few managers can ruin Royal's spirit.

I agree. We do not plan on booking any more cruises until we get our money. It would be different if they processed "in order the cancellation was received." But the refunds seem to be all over the place! It's just not right that people who cancelled in March are still waiting and people who cancelled in May and June have already received theirs! I know, I know...life isn't fair!!!:):):)

We just received our full refund for our September cruise that was cancelled when Canada announced port closure extension.  We requested the refund on June 2nd, refund received June 16th.  Still waiting on the July Oasis cruise that was cancelled and refund requested  on May 20th.

You sure are one of the lucky ones!! Good for you!

We requested our refund on March 27 after RC cancelled our May 10 Symphony cruise. We still have not received a penny and our big box TA's recording says not to call about this until after the 90 day mark. So should I wait for 2 weeks to call if we don't receive our credit? Or call RC about this and bug them?

Now that they are starting to return to their building, maybe things will get processed a bit faster.  We can only pray.  I am still waiting on my May cruise refund. Seeing someone get their July refund, makes me want to hurl something, but I am being patient.  Maybe it will be this week.  🙏

I'm in the same boat (er...excuse the pun:). I check my cc every day now for my refund for my May 10th cruise that I cancelled at the end of March. I did receive an email from RC at the end of April asking for my patience and that I should hear from them again by May 6 unless I receive my refund. I haven't heard a word.....still waiting.............

I've read that many people have called RC and/or their cc company. How much longer should I wait to do this?

  12. No way would I cruise with a mask on. How are you supposed to eat, drink, or swim in the pool with a mask on when you are doing this around people? Nah...we'll wait until the vaccine is available, hopefully by the end of the year.

Who really knows how much a mask helps? Fauci changed his mind two times concerning this subject. In March he said that wearing it really only makes you feel good, and doesn't really help stop the virus. Then he said by wearing the mask you are preventing others from getting it and now he's saying it can help both ways....go figure:( And remember when some people were cleaning everything with clorox over and over again and wiping down groceries?

Hopefully next year at this time we will all be just talking about this awful time in our lives. My heart goes out to everyone who has been affected, physically, psychologically, and monetarily.

Got right through to an agent (no wait) and successfully switched my $250 NRD Baltimore to Bermuda 5 night cruise from Grandeur Sep 26, 2020 to Enchantment (Grandeur retiring) Sep 18, 2021 for the same price. It took *45 minutes* for the 'other department' to work through all the paperwork but as my agent told me this is brand new for them. She checked in a few times to let me know they were still working on it. I kept my corner deck 7 aft JS - went from Grandeur 7650 to Enchantment 7666. I had a fantastic price of $1363.87 and it actually reduced to $1288.47 as the taxes/fees/port expenses cheaper!

I have a small $265.50 FCC in the works that should be here any day now (verbal estimate was 30 days from 4/8) that I'll be able to apply to the $1038.47 balance. Have my vacation receipt pdf. The current MD resident discount price for the cruise is $2520.38.

I really don't think Grandeur will be sailing this September and even if it was my husband - this is a solo cruise - wouldn't have wanted me back in the house without a 2 week quarantine somewhere else even if I had decided I felt safe enough to go... which is also doubtful.

Happy that I can look forward to this other cruise in another year. Sad I won't be experiencing Grandeur as I had hoped.

Is your final payment date now extended to May or June 2021?
