@PhD-ivaThanks for your thoughts, helpful. You are right about the Viking/Baltic many have cancelled. Changes to itinerary make for a good discussion topic which I started but no bites. Alaska is not fully booked either.
@pinotlover Good tips, thanks. Lots of what you describe on the rollcalls so far. I will initiate as you suggest. Especially since one of our replacement ports is Honfleur in France. I may explore a small group tour to Paris in place of large panoramic tour by coach.
Thanks

When are your cruises? And how many days? I think the pax demographics are affected by cruise length and by Destination also. (I’m so curious….)
Thanks for your curiosity. 11 day Alaska Jun/Jul 22, 30 day Baltic/Vikings Sept 22 (I thought that one would be active).

That'll work. Now how do I get my fellow passengers to post?🙄

Have you added yourself to the "Follow" list (An option at the top or the bottom, depending on the specifics of tablet vs phone vs desktop? If you're on that list you get notified of any posting.
Yes I follow it - as I said there's never a notification, not an active group. I just want to find it easier.

Simple question - is there a place to store my 2 roll calls here on CC? Disappointed they're not active at all so I never get a notification but go there regularly and think about posting something.🙋♀️

Our friend went swimming in the pool when we were in the Arctic circle so depends on your POV 😉
I want to do that on Sirena this September. Since we're not going to SPB.......🙄

I've done the shorex shopping for our Alaska cruise, thanks to the helpful tips from many posts here. Did my own math to confirm the free shore excursions and YW (your way) discounts are in place. So they're in shopping cart. Do I pay for these now, or anytime? Or have my TA do it? She offered to.
Thanks all

We've started our research, and top of the list is a balcony stateroom on a 7-day, one-way cruise on Norwegian Jewel. We prefer smaller vs larger ships.
That ship carries over 2300 passengers. Not small. We are sailing Oceania's Regatta in early July with 684 passengers. Enjoy your research.

I've read several posts about the benefits and savings of booking on board. What can be booked? Is the whole catalog available, or just your present shp?

Great thread. @Glaciers,I have been over thinking the packing. Good to read some experienced cruisers' tips. And several posts from the Florida folks too. At the moment I own 1 pair of jeans (for visiting grandkids in KY) and no fleece, wool or thermal. Time to invest because it's time to travel. Thanks for the great posts.

@Salem615, I'm curious about your interest for Icy Strait Point. That's on our late June itinerary. I haven't read too much about it. We're booked on Oceania. Haven't cruised in a long time - except the Disney thing with kids and grandkids. So much to plan for the Alaska excursions.

Ditto wonderful experience this past November, 16-day sailing on Riviera from Rome to Miami. Departed Rome 17th of November and Arrived Miami 3 of December. Ten sea days in total, missed one port in Canaries due to volcano, and Cartagena was substituted for Casablanca. Great weather, great cruise!
Fabulous cruise, enjoyed every day!Robin what was it like in Rome middles of November? Were you finishing a land tour at that time?

What's the itinerary of the Regatta cancelled cruises?

I'm really enjoying your posts @Nymich. Very generous of you to take time for chatting with us folks on land dying to be on the sea. Don't think I've read any mention of Dance parties in the evenings on the ships. Yet I read 70's one night and 80's the next. Are those well attended anyone know? Do you dress for the decade? or just enjoy the tunes? And mah jongg play? I will enjoy all of this.

Hi Naughtypumpkin from Yorkshire! You've never been cruising and your first booking is Istanbul to Dubai? Wow, you jumped right in, didn't you? Looks like a fabulous itinerary. I am new to Oceania and have 2 cruises booked for 2022. I have learned a lot from the posts on this forum. Enjoy your reading.

Very good response.
"Royal Caribbean recently reported that since the restart of cruise operations in 2021, 1.1 million guests have returned only 1,784 positive test results. That is a 0.02% positivity rate. Compare that with Ft. Worth, Texas that just reported a 24% positivity rate! Royal Caribbean went on to report that of the 1784 positive cases, only 41 were hospitalized. And, there have been no hospitalizations with the Omicron variant.
We will not change our travel plans based on the CDC warnings for cruise travel. If you choose to do so, we believe that is your right. We base our travel decisions on sound science and common sense, not media hype or hyperbole."Very good article, thanks for posting. Excellent results from RCI I wonder if test results are remaining this way?

I can't speak from experience. But. We are booked on Sirena for 5 weeks this fall, and I've seen enough of the Sirena verandah bathrooms on youtube to know I would not be able to cope with the shower. So PH it is.
Some folks deal with the shower issue by showering in the spa instead of in their room. And that works great for them.
Hi Kate, I've looked at the YouTube videos too. We have a long Sirena cruise this fall - wondering where does one store their luggage?

terry and shepherd, thanks for your helpful comments. I use a fully updated Chrome browser. I haven't called "O" for help yet. My TA is processing my newly booked cruise now, which explains why that on isn't showing yet. My previously booked cruise is still not there. Not a big deal. It will get sorted soon.

“Your information hasn’t been lost” should be the initial sentence. And something like “this secures your personal info during the website work.”
Thanks for that helpful quote that "should be...." Indeed it is not there when I log on. My website issue is not a Saturday maintenance thing. And I'd still like to know if others are having any problems. I've done the usual fixes; powered off, cleared the cache and signed out of web page. Not a big concern I just wanted to view my new booking.

Anyone having a problem with Oceania web page? My upcoming cruise is no longer listed. Trying to add a new cruise too, not able.

Thanks for your kind, thoughtful and interesting comments. Coral, Notamermaid, Psoque and mapsd I read your comments almost everyday. Our group has decided to wait and I am working hard to swallow my disappointment. As for HostJazzbeau's counter - I am thrilled for you that you got so much travel in this fall. I read your blog with envy. You and belle pulled some great cards to make all that happen.
I appreciate all your good words.

We are. A group of 7 couples have Avalon Rhine River Cruise booked. We are 60-70's in good health from South Florida. Final payment is around the corner and most have decided to cancel. I am on the fence. Anybody like to voice an opinion?

You will see a few men in jackets some in suits/ties but I would say 75% will not wear a jacket except maybe during the Holidays
Thanks LHT. Glad to learn that. The next photo I'd like to see is of luggage one has for a one month cruise. Next fall will be a month cruise on Oceania, our first.
