@PacnGoNow…As I recalled you were the person who contacted their IT however I was too busy to confirm that my memory was accurate before my post. ☺️

I started a thread about seeing much higher prices to pre-pay for specialty dining on the Princess app & learned that some others are seeing the same thing. It’s showing Crown Grill increasing from $39 to $63 and Sabatini’s from $35 to $55 on 1 of my 3 booked cruises. It appears to be another Princess app glitch whereby the prices listed in USD are instead the AUD prices even though the cruises are not in Australia. Just a heads up for anyone who sees such large price increases for specialty dining which appears to be another app glitch. One person wrote they have reported this app glitch to Princess IT numerous times and they are unable to correct it so that poster has now given up on reporting it to get Princess IT to correct this glitch.

Hopefully as others have written this is just another glitch in the new Princess app whereby some are seeing those higher prices in USD which appear to actually be the AUD prices? As ‘ellipooh’ coined a few posts ago…such glitches are “JAPG”. 😉

I log into My Account & then go to the Cruise Personalizer of the booked cruise I want to view. I click the link to “Try our web version” that takes me to the “Link Your Booking” webpage with my name & DOB already listed. I add my booking number & select “Link Booking” to receive this message: This booking has already been claimed. As I recall from past posts & from my previous experiences this glitch happens to some of us…any other suggestions?

Thanks…based on other posts the new Princess app is sometimes providing incorrect prices. My Auckland to LA cruise which doesn’t go to any Australian ports and all pre-cruise & onboard spending is in USD incorrectly shows the AUD prices instead of the USD prices. Good to know the AUD prices which will apply to my around Australia cruise. Based on current exchange rates: $55 AUD = $36.10 USD; $63 AUD = $41.35 USD

Mahalo…ours is correct on one cruise but is wrong on the next cruise 2 days later. Based on my initial Princess app experiences everything worked well…obviously there are still some glitches in the app.

Thanks for the suggestion…I tried the website version but couldn’t get access to my reservation & received this: This booking has already been claimed. Duh Princess, by me! Oh well, just another Princess glitch. For our upcoming cruise I used the old Medallion app to make SD reservations & for next year’s cruises will patiently wait for the correct prices on the new Princess app…or to just book onboard during our combined 50 days during our two cruises.

Hopefully you’re correct & this is only another app glitch. 🤞 Thanks for sharing that you’re seeing higher prices for cruises…I was seeking experiences of others. You have only 4 months until you learn about the actual prices which will be long before my April 2025 cruise where I’m seeing the higher prices.

I don’t agree…they are in USD. While the OZ cruise’s OBCs are in AUD to prebook tours & for onboard purchases all other advance purchases are made by c/c in USD. The SD prices ($39/$35) in OZ are the USD prices to prepay for reservations. For the NZ to LA cruise with higher prices OBCs are in USD as are all other advance & onboard purchases…not in AUD. So what makes you assume the higher prices are not in USD but are in AUD?

Today I was looking at our booked cruises on the Princess app for a year from now…around Australia in mid March 2025 followed 2 days later from Auckland to LA in mid April 2025. Checking specialty dining options found these USD prices (12 & under are half price). Crown Grill: OZ - $39; NZ - $63 Sabatini’s: OZ - $35; NZ - $55 Even if these prices include the 18% tip, the prices have greatly increased. I know that their specialty dining was less expensive than on Celebrity but they’re about the same price now & thought the Celebrity specialty dinners were much better (taste is subjective). And if like reports of the current prices ($39/$35) adding an 18% service charge (AKA tip), CG will cost $74.34 and Sabatini’s $64.90. A year or so ago both restaurants increased by $10 to $39/$35 but will now increase by $24 (CG) and $20 (Sabatini’s). And with these increases beginning next Spring the cost for Plus/Premier packages might also increase. If not, then these specialty dining increases might be another attempt to convince passengers to purchase packages. With our elite level benefits & our style of cruising packages are not cost-effective for us while for others they are a worthwhile purchase…it’s good to have options. Is anyone else seeing the higher specialty dining prices for cruises beginning around April 2025?

I completely agree…it’s so confusing! 😳 I don’t know if other cruise lines are like Princess having multiple currencies to pay for Australian cruises. I’ve cruised to Europe & South America & all onboard pricing was in USD & not in the currency of where sailing. I don’t know if having onboard spending in AUD is an Australian mandate or is just Princess’ policy. That benefits them by reducing the value of OBCs by a third for USD but not as much for CAD…$100 AUD of OBC is equal to $89 CAD but only $66 USD. Although the only thing OBC can be used for in advance is to prebook tours in AUD. Hopefully someone from CA or US who has cruised in Australia can provide the cost in AUD for the Plus/Premier packages. Having an Aussie share their price might not be beneficial because their packages do not include tips which are included in their cruise fare paid in AUD. This is my understanding of the procedure but won’t be onboard until next year to have real life experiences. After our around Oz cruise we fly to Auckland NZ to cruise to LA and OBCs & spending are all in USD. Price increases are a probability & is why I’ve pre-purchased a WiFi package before it recently increased by over 60%. With my cruise a year away, I’m not charging other things so far in advance despite realizing prices on things such as dining & tips will likely increase. Hopefully someone will have actual experiences for your sister’s situation. 🤞

Same menu in all MDRs…the 2 midship (decks 5 & 6) have the same layout & can be accessed from the Piazza. The MDR aft is setup slightly different & cannot be accessed from a passageway…either walk down stairs from deck 7 or take the aft elevator to deck 6. The waiting area is smaller resulting in people waiting on the stairs when it gets busy with more people arriving on the elevators.

Regal has the same 3 main dining rooms as on Royal.

I’ve seen the same thing and hopefully the limited menu is only for this pop-up location. In a couple of weeks we have a paid reservation for The Catch by Rudi on Discovery & expect to have the complete menu available.

She could view pricing by going to her Cruise Personalizer after logging in to her account on the Princess website. My cruise is around Australia & being booked from the US the cruise fare & advance payments are in USD. I’m guessing that all of her currency for those things are being paid in CAD? In USD: Plus is $60/pp/day, Premier is $80/pp/day and both include tips; with Standard fare paying tips in advance is $16/pp/day for our balcony cabin. OBCs are in AUD & are the same amount as in USD & thus at the current exchange rate the OBCs are reduced in value by a third. Our cruise is a year from now so don’t know whether tips will be $16 AUD (same dollar amount as in the US) or if the $16 USD will be converted to the equivalent amount in AUD…currently $24.38 AUD. When inquiring about how that works I’ve received conflicting info so won’t know the true answer until a year from now.

It appears to me there is no upcharge for the steak but $10 to add a lobster tail.

I found two of these European sockets under the head of the bed & next to both nightstands on Sky when in a queen configuration…could use a US adapter to plug in dual current electric items.

gardengalaz…did you notice if wine packages were offered? I’ve read reports from a few ships they were available but don’t know if it’s available on Discovery.

In the Live from Sun thread the author dining in the Reserve dining room wrote this so maybe there’s some hope…maybe an Italian executive chef or one who was trained there. “The lasagna starter was mouth-wateringly fantastic”.

Holy Cannoli 😋😋😋 My favorite dessert & it should always be freshly filled just before eating to keep the shell crunchy. My Sicilian born aunt made great cannolis & I’ve never had a bad one in Sicily. Were those with chocolate flakes & not candied fruit?

I watched a recent Princess webinar & they stated that reservations are currently available until 5/31/24 & they hope to open additional dates soon.

Not on Discovery & IIRC none of the Royal-class ships.
