  1. Thanks…even from the Pacific you quickly share information. ☺️ On Discovery’s total solar eclipse they occasionally had the planetarium set up in the Princess Theater. I heard it only held 12 at a time but not how long the presentation lasted. We decided to skip it to avoid any lines but hopefully it was a good experience for those who went there. 🙂
  2. Sabatini’s Restaurant Manager (Headwaiter) said on 4/12 that the exchange was expected to be completed in 10 days. However disembarking the next day I don’t know if the swap has been completed yet.
  3. A few weeks ago had a good stay at Crowne Plaza with a cruise package that included an overnight stay, buffet breakfast, shuttle to/from the port and parking our car during our 10 day cruise. That was only $100 more than parking our car at the port so it was a good option for us. We took the first shuttle to the ship & instead of taking the shuttle back to the hotel I walked 15 minutes to get our car & returned to the port to pickup my wife and our luggage. There are a couple of restaurants within a short walk from the hotel.
  4. We’ve enjoyed that balcony…just not quite as much as E433/432. 😊
  5. This has been a recurring issue for at least a year on their website…if only 2 are booking a Royal-class Deluxe balcony with a loveseat sized couch in a room that can accommodate 3 then it’s been guarantees only. Some through their TAs have managed to get a cabin assignment for this type of cabin with only 2 passengers booking it.
  6. Looking at deck plans it has the standard 9’x4’ balcony. https://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/deckplans/ov.php?ship=Regal-Princess&cabins=E101-E230
  7. E433 - BW - No couch but a good balcony. The chairs recline & have a taller backrest unlike the photos I’ve seen on Sun Princess.
  8. The highest number of elites on a cruise I’ve sailed on was 1500 on the Sky’s inaugural TA in 2019…that’s about 40% of the passengers.
  9. Maybe by not having tips included outside of Australia that is a marketing tool they use as incentive to book their Plus & Premier packages which includes tips, WiFi & other things. For our style of cruising with our elite benefits, packages are not close to being cost effective for us. However as they eliminate more of those elite benefits they’re attempting to push more elite passengers such as us to buy their packages.
  10. Another factor that affects booking MDR fleetwide is the announced transition to reimplementing Traditional dining which won’t be available to make MDR reservations until June 17. All existing MDR reservations (not including SD reservations) from 9/14/25 & beyond will eventually be canceled. Starting with voyages departing September 14, 2024, Princess will designate separate dining rooms aboard every ship in the fleet* to three table service options: Traditional dining offering an early and a late seating every evening Reservable dining times Open seating to support walk-ins anytime
  11. Thanks…we were both typing at the same time.
  12. Yes, it is a crock…one that Princess benefits from at the expense of their passengers. I haven’t found a definitive answer yet about what the amount of tips will be in AUD for those of us who are booked with a standard fare. If it’s the same $16 whether in USD or AUD that’s okay. However if they convert the $16 USD to over $24 AUD that’s not right.
  13. Would you know the daily tips charge for those of us in that situation when booking standard fares…is it $16 AUD which is the same dollar amount as in USD.
  14. We’re booked with a standard fare from the US around Australia with AUD as the onboard currency so as Reina del Mar wrote we expect to have tips added. Would you know why the cruise procedure you described exists? Is it an Australian requirement? Or a decision made by Princess? Having 2 different sets of procedures results in creating confusion. I know that it benefits Princess because they change our $750 USD OBC to $750 AUD resulting in it becoming only $500 USD at the current exchange rates.
  15. On our recent Discovery cruise the meeting was held on the 2nd day of the 10 day cruise. They passed around a mic for brief intros & provided a glass of bubbly. 🍾
  16. Based on MarineTraffic, it shows you arriving in Honolulu at 0500 on Thursday 5/2…here’s the current weather forecast.
  17. We discovered the big difference between PCL & O on Regatta…including the big size differences. Here is a photo I took in Genoa showing the size difference between PCL’s Royal-class ship Sky and their former Renaissance ship Pacific Princess (now with Azamara). In the Navy one of the ways they described the difference between a “ship” & a “boat” was that a “boat” could fit on a “ship”. ☺️ Using that definition R-class ships could nearly be considered to be a “boat”.
  18. Here are photos from Sky & Royal which should be the same on Discovery which is our favorite Princess ship. Baja deck aft cabins appear to be partial covered.
  19. Greatly appreciate sharing your experiences…with about 90% of our cruises on Princess we’re still learning more about O & we greatly enjoy their cruising experience. Wish they’d reinstate Standard fares which for our style of cruising works best. We use everything in the Standard fares however we do not use the SM options & thus we’re not sure if after our November cruise we’ll book another O cruise.
  20. That might be the reason…mine isn’t until March 2025 when we’re eagerly anticipating our cruise around Australia. 😃
