Insurance question please.
Aus Traveller replied to portcbob's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
Are you saying that one particular insurance company doesn't cover medical expenses on a cruise without specific cruise cover? Maybe this is so with some insurers but not all. To be covered for emergency medical evacuation (usually by helicopter) off the ship, this has to be an inclusion in your travel insurance policy. It can also be free for Q'ld residents within territorial waters. I am not sure what you mean with your third question. đ -

Having the medallions on your fridge will be a great reminder of your cruises. We have kept all our cruise cards (ridiculous I know) and will keep our medallions. Yes - I want the correct colour too. -

This would present a dilemma. An example is my eldest son's family who all had COVID symptoms (elevated temp, lethagy, headache but no cold-like symptoms). Two RATS and one PCR test for all three showed negative. We believe they had COVID because the only person outside their household who they came into contact with in the preceding week, later advised he had COVID. In this case, if they answered the health questions honestly, they would be denied boarding. However, if the person didn't reveal that they had been unwell, they probably wouldn't be able to pass the virus on because their viral load was so low, it didn't show up on the tests. -

I have found that the best way to get a good result in any 'battle' is to expect a tough battle, then it usually goes smoothly without any battle at all. đ This method usually works for me even though it isn't at all logical. -

I have been able to log onto the Medallion this morning and I am still shown as a first-time cruiser. Peter's 'Personal Information' page shows his email address so that isn't the problem with our set up. Maybe the simplest thing will be to wait and see which colour Medallion I get at the terminal, having in mind that you say the data will come from the Personalizer info. -

On these initial cruises, there is only a day or two at sea between ports. Maybe the doctor on board would disembark people who were quite ill while they are in port, rather than take the risk that they would deteriorate further while the ship was at sea. I suppose it would also depend on how many people they can care for on board. COVID positive people are initially treated in the quarantine cabins, and only the sickest would be moved to the medical centre where there are limited beds. Maybe this area has been extended during the pause in cruising. -

Simple - If a person tested positive a few days before their cruise, they could take the required test within 24 hours of their cruise, and voila, they test positive. Report that test result but not the earlier one. -

It's funny that you revved yourself up for a battle. I have found that whenever I expected a battle, the situation (whatever it was) was resolved without difficulty, but when I thought there wouldn't be any problems, that's when it ended up in a battle. đ¤Ŗ -
We saw a couple disembarking in Fort Lauderdale with nine full size suitcases, a couple of smaller cases and a suit bag. A porter was wheeling their luggage on a large trolley (about 1.5m x 2m). The ship was returning from a 7-night cruise in the Caribbean. Someone said the couple had been in a suite, but even so, there stuff would have taken up a lot of space.

You asked if you and your husband have to two separate Medallion Apps. Our booking is obviously for my husband and I and I assume yours is also. I opened the Medallion App once and it shows two profile circles at the top of the page with our names shown. I was able to fill in the details for both of us. I hope this helps. If I haven't answered your question fully, please ask again. -

Yes - I am trying to log on to check that Peter's email address is in his profile, but the website isn't able to load at the moment. Maybe too many people are trying to fix their Medallions. đ -

We have separate email addresses. Although I am doing all the 'stuff' related to our cruises, his email address is registered with Princess because he gets emails from them. I am sure his address is registered for our 26th June cruise because he got an email a few days ago asking him to fill in his personal details. Of course, I had done that weeks ago and ran it past him at the time and got him to personally tick the 'conditions' page. đ Apparently he forgot. -

Email I think. "We have received your order ..." -

The only 'helpful' advice the Princess agent could give me was to close down the app, and open it again. Mine has stubbornly stayed on blue. From your experience, maybe she had something. I will check mine again. P.S. Still blue. âšī¸ -

Yeah! Will do! Anyway, I suppose it really doesn't matter if the medallion is for the wrong loyalty level, but I would rather have the correct one. -

Agreed. The Medallion entries aren't finalised until we can do the health declaration. On ours, everything else is filled in and we have nine green ticks, but my status on the Captain's Circle changed when it shouldn't have. I received notification of our medallion order a couple of weeks ago when I completed everything. -

Don't think so. đI will wait a while longer then contact Princess again, although I had difficulty getting the agent to understand what I was talking about when I phoned a couple of days ago. She kept telling me I would have to fill in all the details when I get to the terminal. It took several tries before she understood that i had filled everything in and that we had a column of green ticks. -

I managed to complete everything on the Medallion and it was all OK. Then my Captain's Circle status changed from Elite to Blue (on our profile photos), even though my cruise history is on the Cruise Personalizer. Does anyone know how to fix it? -

One annual policy we checked won't cover anyone over 76.
