We took a look at MSC but too many short 7 days cruises and not all ships have the Yacht Club. They seem to have itineraries as boring at NCL.

The AI bathroom attendant. AI being artificial intelligence.

On Equinox in a Sky Suite (after butler change)
terrydtx replied to DingoMom's topic in Celebrity Cruises
From what I have seen posted by recent cruisers on another site the upcharge lobster is advertised as a cold-water rock lobster tail. Also, the tableside flambéed lobster in Murano is now a cold-water lobster, I saw that when someone posted the menu this past week. They said the lobster was excellent. -
Have you thought about applying for a position with Celebrity writing their press releases? LOL

How about a daily fee for a poolside chair or lounger, extra fee for one in the shade? That would end another cruising peeve, the Chair Hoggs.
-
I would go for a fee to reserve a pool chair or lounger, that would end the Chair Hoggs or at least limit them.

One of our Apex roll call members from Canada recently commented how the payment screen tipping mentality is spreading in Canada. He blamed our US obsession with tipping, and he is not off base with that comment. I filled my car up at my local Shell station and got a bottle of water, the payment screen had a place to add a tip. I asked the cashier guy about that and he said it was new software from their parent company and he can't do anything about it. I left no tip on a $1 bottle of water. Then I saw a sign on the door how they were hiring cashiers for all shifts with staring pay at $19.50 an hour with a $1000 sign on bonus. It made me wonder where the tips were going? On a cruise you can't refuse the gratuity unless you do not want the product or service connected to the tip.

The people have spoken but I think it was more the bad publicity from cruising media outlets like Cruise Hive. But in reality, probably very few if any were actually buying the cookies and they had a huge waste. When they decide to not go forward with the Vaping in Casinos the official reason was, not the negative emails by CC members, it was not enough people actually vaped in the casino to make the change important enough to overcome the negativity.

In Celebrity blocking onboard usage of CC over their WI-FI?
terrydtx replied to clojacks's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I believe it started when the starlink updates were finished. The only way to get basic is with stardard AI but in a suite you get premium. if you do not have AI the only Wi-Fi you can purchase is the premium and it is nice. In June the Premium Starlink Wi-Fi was the best of any cruise. No problems with making video chats or phone calls with Wi-Fi calling on my phone. -
In Celebrity blocking onboard usage of CC over their WI-FI?
terrydtx replied to clojacks's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I was being sarcastic about the tips as almost any Celebrity purchase has gratuities added like 20% for some one to hand you a $2 warm cookie. -
It called Royalization plain and simple.

terrydtx replied to clojacks's topic in Celebrity Cruises
All the basic Wi-Fi is good for is e reading emails, You have to have the premium to do anything more. It is I think $10 per day more with the 20% for tips added of course. -
The overnight gambling ships from FLL to the Bahamas already do that, nothing but buffets and one pay MDR.
-
I am surprised they haven't already imposed a fuel surcharge with a 20% tip of course.

Me too!!

For 3 years I was doing the SF to Beijing flight 2 times a month all on business and luckily in BC which back then was not lay flat seats more like today's PE. I racked up a lot of United miles that I just finished using on our Flights to San Diego in November for a cruise. -

In the late 90's I was on a flight from Bejing to San Francisco, a 14 hour flight. There was one person who kept going to the BC restroom to smoke and set off the smoke alarm twice and was warned about doing so, when we landed, we had to wait to deplane while an airport policeman arrested the guy and took him off in handcuffs. -

Good luck on your journey, when you are done I imagine you will have a much easier time flying long hours to get on a cruise. I have often wondered how smokers can fly for 10 or more hours without a smoke.🤞 -
NOW I have a problem with the new Suite policies
terrydtx replied to sixpackeddie's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I agree and did not consider it a cut My point was about the understaffed room attendants and how long it took to get our room made up each day usually after lunch. On one day we came back from an excursion at 2pm and the room still hadn't been made up. Our butler explained that they were understaffed by room attendants by 30% and each one had 30% more cabins than normal. -

I agree the towel animals have never been a big deal but on the Equinox we had our 12 year old granddaughter with us and thought she would enjoy having seem them. That was the only reason I even asked about it. -

I did have a picture but you couldn't see his face and the security guy told me they had to catch him in the act, which happened on the second and final third visit. -

terrydtx replied to sixpackeddie's topic in Celebrity Cruises
The June Equinox cruise was also the first cruise that we did not get the nightly towel animals, I was told by our butler this had been discontinued because it took much time away from the over worked and understaffed room attendants. The ship was 100% full and some days we didn't get our cabin made up until after lunch. -
