  1. Remember

Reflection, Penthouse and Royal suite guests are privy to even more exclusive services such as unlimited internet, unlimited Complimentary Specialty Dining and complimentary Premium Beverage Package of your choice for all guests in suite (minors will automatically receive a Premium Non-Alcoholic Package).

Additionally we were in a Celebrity suite on the summit and did not like the location of the bedroom. It backs up to the hall, and we found it very noisy. The royal is not that way.

  2. Are the quotes for like for like? I know that in the UK, they have to be up-front about all the costs but believe that the regulations are different in the US and that sometimes there are hidden charges.

Exactly the same.same cruise, same cabin, same date. I even told them to leave off any drink package because with the new suite benefits drinks were included. Celebrity was $2,000 cheaper!

  3. What are "the cheaper 7 cruises"?

I agree. Prices on the premium cabins do not normally go down. I just found today that a well know online agency quoted me $2,000 more than what the Celebrity website said.

As far as waiting to the last minute, we would prefer to get the cabin we want and not hopefully wait for a deal.

  4. Think your approach to this is spot on. A combination of realistic and perhaps lowering expectations is more likely to cause "delight". Not allowing anything to get in the way of enjoying yourselves is key.

    :)

Jeff, you always provide great posts, but why should anyone lower their expectations on a so called 6 star cruise? It should be a totally thrilling experience to say the least. Oh, thanks for the executive office email.

  5. Celebrity has always offered the best bang for your buck in the cruise industry.

We booked one of the signature suites for my 70th birthday! We will miss some of the new suite benefits,as it is before April 15, but I have to say...even if you are died in the wool SS customers...we have never had an issue with celebrity. I love the new suite perks, and I can have one of the nicest suites at half the price as SS. We are still dealing with SS on an issue since last July. When Celebrity had a problem in the Galapagos last year, we were treated very well and will be going back the end of this year. I find Silversea to have the worst customer service in the industry.

Not to mention our Silver Shadow cruise from Singapore to Hong Kong. I was shocked after sailing all the luxury lines that dirty water coming out of the faucets and poor food was considered 6 star. When we arrived in Hong Kong they did not even have the ability to get currency on board. Thank goodness the Mandarin Oriental was a 6* hotel and put the cab fare on our hotel bill!

  6. I do not work for Carnival Cruise Line.

I was just a passenger on Seabourn.

I posted my review on here- because the Thread was:

    Silversea vs. other Cruise lines.

Sadly if you do not love Silersea this is not a friendly board. It is unfortunate, but as you can see the truth!

  7. We feel Seabourn is a different class than Silversea.

The food on Seabourn is Far Superior to Silversea. We found some of the food on our Silversea cruise last year unedible! All the food on Seabourn was FABULOUS!

The service and staff is more polished and professional on Seabourn.

After Sailing Seabourn- would never sail Silversea again.

Seabourn delivers the most luxurious cruise line experience at sea.

Totally agree! We have been on Silversea, Regent, Crystal, and Seabourn. Seabourn was hands down the winner for many reasons, and the food was outstanding.

  8. We have friends that booked a GTY SS and ended up with a handicapped cabin with a very large balcony. They were told that the handicap cabins do not sell so it usually is given to a person that has a gty.

    Good luck!

That was what we got on the Century two years ago. The cabin was okay, but the noise from the sliding doors going into the buffet went on 24-7 and was terrible. I prefer to book the cabin I want as if you get an undesirable location, you really did not save any money!

  9. Sorry, but I cannot agree. It would be very difficult to provide suite guests with an area which included some of everything - full sun, partial sun, full shade - and not be too large an area. Not everyone wants the same when it comes to deck space and the suites all have their own balconies since the balconies were added to the M-class CS. I also think a private sun deck would be too much "in your face" to non-suite guests. At least Michael's Club and the Suite Restaurant, once available, will be discrete.

Although we book suites, that is just our preference. I think an area for sunning only with suite guest is totally NOT a good idea! It is nice to meet other people, and there is no need for anything like that!

  10. I don't believe that extra space is needed just for Suite changes. A dedicated chef for the new restaurant is one example but there are also more people in future sales and destination concierge for another.

Celebrity is evolving and making changes to attract passengers from all walks of life.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with providing an enhanced experience for people who are willing to pay for it while still attracting the traditional demographic who enjoy the rest of the ship. We have always considered Celebrity a classy cruise line. A class system? I'm proud to sail Celebrity Class: that's why we come back again and again and again. It's our seaside condo after all, a cut above all the rest. (well most of them)

I totally agree with your post. Everyone has a choice in what they want. If you pay more, you should receive more. It is all about choice! I think it is an excellent idea, and will drive us to Celebrity more!

  11. Yes that's how it works. Once your TA has the reservation a lot of the information becomes closed to view.

I understand what you are saying, however, I have done this before, and nothing disappeared...........he is my TA and I will transfer a cruise to him, like I did on the Reflection because the suite I wanted was only one available. Then I transferred it to him.

When the others were transferred, it showed his name, company, etc....everything stayed the same. I think from reading other posts, their system needs some work.

  12. Well, I went in and added my cruise to the Celebrity site. It doesn't show how much I paid, nada, not even the TA that it was transferred to. What is funny when I added it, I got this big red message that says

Please note that only reservations made on CelebrityCruises.com with your My Celebrity account can be modified online. You can however complete your Online Check-in and make advanced reservations using our Pre-Cruise Planner.

  13. I hate to say this but when this happened to me last August it turned out our cruise had been chartered out. I too, rang and asked questions and was told it was a website problem. As it was a back to back on the Equinox we had to cancel both legs. However this was a year out before flights are out etc your cruise is slightly over 6 months away, what date are you sailing on?

    Hopefully it's just the website.

Well, it is my 70th birthday, and after talking to the captains club supervisor, I was so irritated that I looked at other cruise lines. I booked a signature suite as a special treat, and have already purchased our airline tickets. If their was another line going out on Nov 1st out of Miami or Ft Lauderdale, I would have changed it. Did not want one of the mass market ships, but gave in on the Reflection because it is supposed to be very lovely.

I would hope it is not chartered.
