  1. Chef's Table is currently suspended on all ships for now which is why it's not showing up. It's not showing on my booking for January 2023 either.
  2. My first Carnival experience was NYC on Splendor in Feb, 2014 and sailed 5X that year on Splendor. Miss those winter sailings on Carnival from NYC big time. No interest in cruises in summer from anywhere. Maybe someday it will happen again for winters in NYC. In the meantime, I'll settle for winter cruises from Baltimore, unless I want to fly to cruise or go on another line from NY or NJ.
  3. I've booked a GTY a few times and the earliest I ever got an assigned cabin was about an hour after I booked. I think the latest was about a week before. No worries. You will have a place to rest your weary head somewhere on board. LOL
  4. Just about 20 years for me too. Made a lot of friends through this site that I cruised with and have remained friends with from the early days. There are those that I never met in person but have enjoyed their reviews and pics of ships that I've been on or those that I might want to go on because I trust their judgement and opinion. Thanks all!
  5. Nice. My favorite trips through the years were the ones booked last minute. Just GO!
  6. 7X on Pride and always had a great time. Thanks for sharing!
  7. I've always gotten a response, sometimes within a few hours but haven't done it since 2020.
  8. Jeff, It's always a pleasure to look forward to all your wonderful reviews! Once again, thanks for sharing! Pam
  9. Someone ordered it nearby while I was eating and I was able to check it out. That was enough for me and I'd hate to have the person spend time doing it when I know I won't eat it. I'm not a dessert/sweets person (unless it's Baked Alaska)
  10. Don't hold your breath that you will be docking there anytime soon. Breaking ground" in island time could mean that it might be ready in 5-10 years (LOL). New port: Soon Come I am sure that some day it will be wonderful!
  11. Ice machines are always available on Lido. I always pack zip-loc bags and if I'm in dire need of ice, I'll go to Lido. The bags also work great for keeping a few beers iced down. Zip the bag closed and leave it in the sink or shower floor.
  12. I liked the envelopes too. It always seemed more personal than the pre-paid gratuities.
  13. I have gotten a cabin assignment as soon as an hour after I hung up the phone with Carnival after booking the cruise and other times it was a few weeks before sailing.
  14. My first cruise was in 1992 on RCL and there are a lot of things I liked better from those days but not the fact that cruises were a lot more $$$$$$$$.
  15. There was a medical emergency and they left Freeport very late.
  16. Neither of these casino offers sound like "DEALS." I've been sailing on casino offers for the last 7 years and have only paid taxes and port charges. Offers have included inside and balcony cabins and DOU in casino and everywhere. They always vary. They all included some amount of Funplay or Cash from casino from $100-$1000 over the years. I have a 14 day Journey booked for Jan 2023 on Legend and am still only paying taxes and port charges with DOU everywhere and $500 Fun Play. Plus I'll have $600 OBC from rebooking back in 2020. These really don't sound like a good casino DEAL.
  17. I have gotten a phone call for upsell/upgrade offers from my very first Carnival cruise. I've only said YES when they were truly FREE.
