Thanks for the replies, everyone. Yes - I do frequent the roll calls for the cruises we've been on, though thought it was a bit soon for one to exist for this cruise (but, perhaps not! I shall check.). :D The one we are considering is 10-nights, leaves from Venice, and ends in Rome. It has just one sea day, with stops in various cities in Croatia, Montenegro, Malta, and Italy. I think too that after our Silhouette Caribbean cruise, we may slightly prefer the S-class ships, but glad to hear the experience on Constellation would be very comparable to the Infinity.
I'm booked on the same cruise for this summer. You can email me at maltatour18@gmail.com if you'd like to touch base.

I give them extra cash but also bring them a little something...I am Canadian so I give them a little bottle of maple syrup with a note explaining what it is and how we eat it...I was also on board on Valentine's Day and had brought several small marshmallow chocolate hearts and given them to those who served us....cash is king but something edible I think is a nice touch...they don't want it, they can throw it away.

I am sailing on the Constellation in August, the itinerary is only sailing twice. I booked when the cruise was first open for booking and the exact same cabin is now selling for almost double.

You’re on a cruise that you spent good money to go, why worry about the Olympics, just set your recorder at home before you leave.
I'd love to watch the Olympics in a lounge along with others who are cheering on the athletes!

I am a dog lover, and until Monday we had 2 dogs ( we lost our Basset Monday morning ) but also think it's a huge problem. It's ridiculous how easily people can get a 'support animal' certification and then bring their animals everywhere. On a cruise, if I was at a table where someone had their dog with them I'd ask to be moved.

In Cozumel, we visited Nachi Cocom and loved it. Great day with heated pool and great food and service.
In Montego Bay we visited Sunscape and it was ok. The resort is dated but it was ok for a day...there is a lazy river though so that's a plus. Another plus is that it is close to the port.

Scandinavia for sure...hopefully with first class flights to and from and a healthy budget for excursions...am I asking too much? lol

Wondering if there is a seated waiting area at the port? We're sailing Celebrity. Thanks for your help.

I think they did a lot to help those in need during/after the hurricanes. Also, so many people in the Caribbean depend on tourism that it's a good thing the cruiselines are going back.

That hotel is a long way from the port...not even in the old town, just FYI....

When I flew back from Warsaw to Montreal, I found out my luggage did a side trip to Tel Aviv but got back eventually so I wasn't even mad!

I always bring a little something. I pick something edible, either a small box of chocolates or bottle of maple syrup. I tell them it's my celebration of Christmas and I would to offer them a small gift.

Is the San Juan airport even accepting commercial aircraft?

I was able to google it and find the answer.
Really? Instead of posting that you could have just written the answer.

Stayed in 8594 on Jewel and had no problems at all. There is a wall between the Centrum the corridor. Unless you can get an Aft cabin, I would stick with what you have.
Stayed in the same room and we also had no problem with noise. It's a great cabin location.

I lived in Malta for 5 years and that time of year can bring cool, rainy days not the mention a rocky sea.

My experience with medical fridges on cruises has been that they aren't cold enough ( mine is growth hormone that needs to be kept between 2-8C ) so I explain to my steward and put ice in the cooler with my meds and that's worked.

I am 45 but have had several brain surgeries/radiation as well as other surgeries...I stopped working when my memory loss and fatigue became too much. I never have a good answer. If I'm honest with them, they end up feeling bad and say something like' but you look great' which is something I don't to hear...and if I don't explain I get the look :(

My husband and I have been on numerous Caribbean cruises and a cruise to Alaska. We have also been to Europe a few times but Europe was totally a land tour, self-directed.
Every once and a while I look at European cruises because I like to cruise and the idea of not changing hotels is appealing. However, the idea of a limited number of hours in a city stops all thoughts of the cruise. I know many people say it's just to get a taste of the cities, you can always go back for a longer trip. Unfortunately, I am at an age (over 60) where there are still too many places to see and I don't know how many I am going to be able to double back on.
So can anyone help change my mind? :)
I am 45 but because of illness, I get tired very easily and my travelling days are numbered. A European cruise is the perfect answer for me because, like you said, it gives you a taste of a city. I think it's better to sample a place than not see anything at all. So, in doing a cruise, you sample the city and not waste an entire land based trip on a place you haven't seen before and might not like so much.

I've not heard of discount codes from cruiselines. You can wait till you're in port, when you walk off the ship there will be people there offering tours. You can usually get them to cut their price.

I agree. DH and I live pretty simply during the year, I watch for sales and use my credit card for everything to get points for flights. Once the cruise arrives, we enjoy it. We fly in the night before, have a great dinner and then enjoy the cruise and excursions...then we do it all over again! :)
