  1. I lived in Malta and would recommend the Blue Grotto ( 30 minute boat ride ), Mosta Dome ( 2nd largest dome in Europe, **** bomb fell through the dome during mass and didn't explode, bomb now in the basement of church open to visits ) and Mdina ( first capital...no cars allowed known as the silent city, loads of history, an amazing view of Malta and also amazing little restaurants. Fontanella cafe is the best imho. Valletta has a lot of history and shopping as well.Enjoy!

  2. I would definitely say something to a child or young adult. I've seen enough of these little snowflakes poking holes in rolls and trying desserts with their fingers. It would depend on the person and situation if I said anything. Most pretend not to understand English. I've actually gone to another line or buffet station.

I would, too. Several people seem to be laughing but as someone who's immune system is low, it does make me be extra careful. Not to the extent of wearing gloves but I have avoided some items if I've seen someone doing something gross lol

  3. Not really, unless it's something I wouldn't normally eat. Like corned beef. Hate that stuff.

Usually, I find the food at the buffet to be just fine. Maybe not "special". For "special" there are other options. For "gosh, I'm hungry, let's go find something to eat", the buffet fits the bill.

    Ditto

  4. In Quebec City, the port is right in the Old Town...turn left once you are off the ship and walk into the lower town which is a few blocks away...in the lower town you'll see signs for the "Funiculaire". You step off in the upper town in the heart of the old town and promenade...loads to see and do within a few blocks! Such a nice place :)

  5. We also have an acquaintance that had them in their kids room and had to throw away mattresses and wooden bunk bed set. Then the sofa because the kids had went to sleep on it because they couldn't sleep in their beds. It cost them A LOT of money to get rid of them.

All I know is if I had real evidence that there were bed bugs in my room and they wouldn't move me, I'm gone. I would take all kinds of photos and videos and fight with the cruise line to get my money back. Now I don't have that kind of money to just flush down the tubes and the probability of getting my money back from the cruise line would probably be slim to none, but it would be cheaper then bringing them home with me and then trying to get rid of them.

Agree 100%...I would be heartbroken to lose a cruise but so much better than bringing them home. I have to believe that the cruiselines keep a few extra rooms for emergencies.

  6. We were in an inside cabin on the Summit. I'm on a high dose of steroids and was very swollen ( more than usual ) after the flight. When our cabin steward came to introduce herself, I mentioned it to her as I was struggling to put on my sandals and she told me to wait a minute and came back with 2 pairs of slippers they give passengers in suites. One for the cabin and one to walk around the ship in until I could find sandals that fit in the shops. Thought that was very sweet.

  7. Many times when I have been in Manhattan , on finding out I am English New Yorkers ask me if I know their cousin/nephew/ex neighbour/friend etc etc who lives in England and they find it strange when I giggle 😄

Lol the same happened to me...Canadian living in Malta and got, all the time, "I have a cousin in Toronto, Joe Borg, do you know him?" lol

It departs Ottawa as well.....a travel agent friend posted it through her agency as an upcoming event.

  9. We always ask for large tables...on the Celebrity Summit a couple of years ago, we had a great combination of people...a couple from California ( husband worked as security guard in a maximum security prison ), 2 friends traveling together who barely spoke, a couple ( the woman was always drunk and spilling secrets ) and finally a single mom with a 21 year old daughter who has down syndrome...she enchanted us all and a few of us ended up buying her small gifts in each port...the mom was fantastic with her and we all fell in love with this great twosome. At the end of the cruise we were all taking photos and hugging...I was sorry to see this group go.

  10. There are a few companies that will have a short 'stable prior to departure' clause to cover pre existing, all depending on age...I'm in my 40s and book with a company that have a 7 day prior clause. Another option is to book an evac insurance...some offer a lump sum insurance. If something happens, the hospital at destination gets the patient stable and then the evac flies them to the home hospital of their choice. As someone with a chronic illness, I book this as well and feel I have a safety net in place. Good luck!

  11. Our last cruise was out of FLL. I booked the La Quinta Inn and Suites in FLL ( 26th ave ) which offers free shuttle service from FLL to the hotel and the hotel to a near by mall with plenty of restaurants. The night before the cruise All Stars Shuttle service was there, in the lobby. We booked the shuttle for the next day to the port and then from the port to the airport. Worked really well and all affordable!
