  1. We head over the port around 10:00 or 10:30, they usually start boarding around 11-11:30.

When we were on the Summit, we went to our stateroom to drop off our bags and headed over to the buffet which was pretty much empty. No problem at all.

BTW there is a liquor store after security at the port...you can buy wine, liquor and soda there. They will let you keep the wine and soda but will pack up the liquor and deliver it to you on the last night of the cruise.

    Enjoy!

  2. I have read that to get into the caves there are 81 steps...I am wondering if you have to climb out the same way or if the caves are a walk through? My friend has limited mobility...going down is ok but coming back up 81 stairs would be an issue. Thanks for all your help!

  3. It's completely doable. As mentioned in the post above, the train station in Quebec City is near the cruise port. When arriving in Montreal ( book the ticket to the Dorval station ) you'll see a sign for the shuttle to the airport, included in your ticket ( when booking it will prompt you to see if you need a shuttle ticket ) and you'll be at the airport in less than 10 minutes. The Dorval station is small so there isn't much walking and there's a bench to sit while you wait, shuttles go every 10 minutes or so. And they will all speak English.

  4. Taking my mom on a cruise on the Jewel ots and am a bit worried about her walking long distances ( she is not ready for a wheelchair ). Does anyone know if there is a shuttle to transport people at the pier should our ship be far back? Thanks for your help!

  5. We have sailed from San Juan several times...one cashier told us to just bring everything with us ( we don't drink, the bottles we bought were gifts ), while another time they wrapped the bottles up and shipped them to our ship themselves. Last time the store shelves were pretty empty.
