  1. I am getting ready pre packing for our cruise on the Summit (six weeks from today [emoji572] [emoji1] .. yes I'm excited and very type A.) I have been hearing quite a bit about packing cubes. I see they are not cheap. I'm looking for some opinions. Packing cubes... yeah or ney ? and if yeah, which brand ? Thanks !

  2. I have Medicare and Federal BC/BS as my secondary insurance. I consider us very lucky until we travel outside the US where we have no health benefits. I also wanted any reason to cancel insurance. I called insuremytrip.com and was delighted with their advice. They took the time to explain everything to me, not just to sell me something.

  3. We cruise Aqua mostly for Blu. Love the service. (Brit) Hubby orders a makeshift English breakfast (not on the menu) which they happily put together for him. It's once of year treat that I watch his arteries clog, every morning. We spend the rest of year unclogging..lol The entire experience has always been five star for us.

  4. We were in the same lovely Cabin for the September 2017 sailing to Bermuda and the only thing I will add is you can hear the music from the Sunset Bar below (even with the balcony doors closed and the drapes drawn.) It did not stop us from booking a similar cabin for our upcoming cruise on the Summit, but I thought about it.

  5. Great question. I know they don't and the capsules don't do it for me. I have a stomach issue and Kombucha is really really helps me. I called Celebrity and they told me I could bring it on board as long as it came on my carry-on (not checked luggage.) Fortunately, we drive to the port. I also can do with a half bottle a day.

  6. Same here. Our paid invoice indicates our beverage

package. However, when I log on to the Celebrity website all that show is our OBC. A call to Celebrity assured me that they could see it and it would "appear" later. I would not go to the bank with that later. But I am confidant we will be getting the package on the ship. Their website is a mess. Our connections party has been stuck at 12 forever, despite the growing number of people signing up.

  7. I am Gluten Free. I was on the Summit last year they were wonderful. We dined in Blu, were they brought me my Gluten free bread every morning and a muffin offering, after the first day with out my asking. They pointed out on the menu what was GF every night and on the Buffet you could ask for GF bread and they had the most amazing selections of GF deserts, in the afternoon, I have ever tasted. I am looking forward to a repeat of this in three months.

  8. I had the same question regarding purchasing a Cancel for Any Reason policy (besides cruise line protection policy) after making initial payment and just before final payment.

The reason most insurers don’t do this after final payment is because someone could purchase with the likely intention of canceling. However the policy amount would be after whatever is already refunded by the cruise line.

So the question to the OP is how close to the departure can they cancel the Nationwide policy for any reason (such as 48 hours), and what percentage does the policy really cover after deducting what they would get back from Celebrity on that date and subtracting the cost of the policy? What percentage was the policy cost of the cruise cost?

I don't have the Celebrity policy. I had it last year but don't recall the specifics except that it was also 70% in a credit toward another cruise and similar time frame, which was two days. The Celebrity policy is $119 PP. But, it apples and oranges for us, because the medical coverage IMO was too low if something really happened. Again, we have NO out of network coverage once leaving the US. I just had this discussion with our friends who are taking an NCL cruise in July. We expect to have healthy happy cruise but are prepared for every eventuality that (we can) may come our way.

  9. Question for OP - Are you saying that Insure My Trip was able to provide an insurance policy that includes "cancel for any reason" coverage even though you purchased the insurance much later than your original booking date? Does the 70% refer to the amount that you would be reimbursed if you canceled for any reason - or just specific reasons?

Yes they were able to provide with a policy that I can cancel for any reason and get 70% back (within two days of the trip). That even includes just deciding we feel like not going. Keep in mind we have not made final payment.

  10. I don't have the cruise line policy handy but the medical was low and we have no out network insurance. I took Nationwide it was $395.87 for a weeks cruise to Bermuda. All cruise no flying. $2,500 Travel Baggage, $100,000 medical. I can't recall the evacuation but it was much higher than what Celebrity's policy offered.

  11. Thank you all for your advice. I contacted The Trip Insurance Store and unfortunately they could not help me. However, a call to Insure My Trip was very successful. They carefully and patiently explained every I did not understand and I am now the proud owner of an "any reason to cancel" trip insurance policy. Next up... paying for the cruise...

  12. Thank you too all that assisted. We now have what I was looking for (an explanation) and any reason to cancel insurance. The Trip Insurance Store could not help but a call to Insure My Trip was so helpful. I got all the answers I wanted and needed and hung up with insurance.

  13. I'm going to call the Trip Insurance Store tomorrow. I'm hoping they have any reason to cancel insurance. Thanks to everyone that answered. I don't think the pre-existing condition situation is really an issue (if I book before I before final payment) but Maa worry wart.

  14. It's not clear to me if you actually paid for the Celebrity policy when you booked the cruise. If you are looking for other insurance, it may indicate that you haven't paid for the Celebrity policy. Your Celebrity policy begins when you actually pay for the policy. You may not have coverage for pre-existing conditions with Celebrity if you actually pay for the insurance when you make final payment.

Sorry, not paid but it's on the invoice, so I'm told that it's the same thing.
