I believe this falls under the category of clueless you mentioned . If you ask for ice you should get it

    Cheers

I agree. Probably clueless room steward issue.

We were on the Symphony (balcony cabin) in Feb. Requested ice 2 times a day. Bucket was brought and it was filled twice a day for the cruise length as requested.

Also had 6 plus bottled waters and a wine/bubbly.

Capt. Kate does daily short videos on YouTube. She was supposed to start her off rotation I think a week or two ago but her contract was extended for a couple of weeks for a reason that I don't remember. I don't know if she has another 12 days left or not.

I didn't really care for her at first as I thought she was kind of a "showboater" sort of like Capt. Johnny on RCI. However, she has grown on me. I find her daily videos informative and entertaining. I think she said something about visiting another X ship when she leaves Beyond where she is meeting up with some friends including Capt. Sandy from Below Deck. I hope you get to sail with her. I'm just not sure of her departure date from Beyond.

Thanks OB. I watch those daily logs on YT.
We have sailed with her as the captain many times on the Summit, Equinox and the Edge. So hoping she is on.

  3. I am getting very excited because we are going on the Beyond for a 6 night cruise, in 12 days. Ports are Coco Cay, Grand Cayman and Bimini.

Never been to Bimini before. Could have chosen more "interesting" itinerary but this is what Celebrity allowed us to move our reservations to after cancelling a couple of Beyond sailings that would have had some date conflicts.
We have been on the Edge three times and I loved it. I hope ours is not a "rattling" room that people are complaining about.

But my major excitement is about the small possibility that Captain Kate will be on board.....either as Captain or cruiser. And those mini lemon meringue tarts at Bacio.......😁🥰 umm umm umm!

Hi CC friends!  It has been a rough 10 days.  As some already know from that other site that shall remain nameless, I lost my dear father very unexpectedly on April 18th.  He was in good health up to the very end and would have been 88 this August.  I returned home today after a week down in North Carolina, where he lived, to help my sister take care of all the "things".  My sister moved down there from NJ last summer.  While I am still a little bit in shock that he is gone (my mother died in 2014), I am so thankful he was living life to the fullest up to the very end and we were all together the first weekend of April for a fun filled time.  My father had moved into a lovely independent living community in the fall of 2022 so he had downsized quite a bit which was very helpful this past week as were emptying his apartment.  I also urge everyone to have all their important papers organized in a file for your loved ones, should anything happen unexpectedly as did for us.  Even though we knew where all the "stuff" was he still had little post it notes all over his desk of passwords for his computer.  😃  We will be having a Celebration of Life in the summer down in NC for him.

Very sorry. Our condolences to you and your family.

Well starting this Thursday I am going on a little adventure. Thursday morning I leave for Hilton Head Island SC to visit my life long best friend from high school and the best man at my wedding who is a great musician, singer and entertainer who plays at the Salty Dog cafe for over 25 years. Dave @Ozark_Kid has seen him and knows who I am talking about my best friend Dave Kemmerly.

What makes this trip interesting and a little nervous is that I will be there 5 days with 7 other friends who I went to high school with. Two of which Mary and Steve lived on my street growing up and I have known for over 50 years. Two couples one of which got were in my class and got married right after high school and another couple a year behind us.

We are staying a a great VRBO in Sea Pines a short distance from the Salty Dog. It's a six bedroom house so plenty of room.  Here are some of the pictures of it as it looks wonderful. And it should because it is also for sale for over $3 million.

I mentioned that I was a little nervous. Most of these people while friends I have not seen in over 2 years. A few of us have spent time together but none for 5 days. I like these people but they are different from me in my view on most  things. I stated the only way I would go is that we not discuss politics or religion as I have had a couple of run ins with one of the guys over the years. Maybe as I gotten older, I don't put up with BS and I just rather cruise with my wife than do anything else.

Linda is going to stay home with the dogs and said go have fun with your high school friends. I hope it will be that way. I may not be around later in the week as much but I will try and post some pictures of our adventures. Wish me luck and as they say "Can't we all just get along?"

    Have a great time Greg!

    This home looks wonderful.

On the other site where Bella is Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge has a page with a picture. You can find it by searching for the Refuge.  The staff can post patient pictures.  The picture is from a couple of weeks ago.  I think there will be more as they grow.

I googled the name and it popped up.
You guys do a great service.

Backup - final prep: iPhone and Android smartphone do run out of storage space, sooner or later, regardless - while backing up to sync to home server ... click thru a couple of old NCL cruise folders - time flies.

Found old photos of Alvin Oliver, CD currently onboard the Prima ... he's been around.  He was conducting the Platinum behind-the-scene tour on the Breakaway 10 years ago (2014) and ran into him over the years, this was from a Halloween cruise on the BA in 2017.  He did a great & fun presentation on cruise ship operations with slide presentations, go see it if and when scheduled onboard ...

This was the Cruise Critic Meet & Greet, held in La Cucina b/c we had expected a fairly large turnout.  Alvin is 2nd on the right (photo taken from iPhone 5S then ... kind of fuzzy) and he was a little "slimmer" in those days, wish I found a picture from 2014.  NCL featured him, among others, on social media during the pandemic shutdown.

If only Apple had developed AirTags then, maybe ... it would've help tracked down someone's CPAP, apparently checked and gone missing - do not, don't and shall not check medications and medical devices needed.  Carry it and keep it with you, really.

How and why would it be under the bed or inside the closet of a stateroom, unless the occupant place it there ... in other words, just return it and no questions asked.

Doing a test to see how the Samsung SmartTag2 perform vs. Apple's AirTag, putting 1 of each in the checked spinner tomorrow and drop it off with the porter ... let the tracking begin.

@Arzeena old friends popping up on this thread, isn't that cool - just skim thru the details, check out the pictures and that's plenty already ... something for almost everyone.

Say hello to Alvin from RJ and me. We knew him since he was the cruise director's staff doing bingo or trivia. Now he is CD. Wonderful person. We miss him.

And is that Yannis (talking) all the way right in your picture? He has been on MSC for a while now. Is he back on NCL?

I hope Susan and you and Barb are having a wonderful time.

MJ I feel upset for you.
    🥰

Ask us here and we will try and answer anything you want to know.

As for your answer: I believe your hubby read an older article/info. These days it is up to personal preference/choice. If you believe it is needed to protect you or if you to keep others safe, then keep it with you.

Don't worry my hubby googles up old info sometimes and informs me "did you know....." and I have to tell him "yes I knew....3 years ago."

@Arzeena  Hahaha, first, apology as I should've "alerted" you to start reading earlier to catch up on our busy cruiselife but you know ... and I am not even responsible for the M&G, just keeping the lines straight, the t's and the d's crossed to have a good headcount, plus the other "stuff" which we won't get into her.  What's this thing that @JIMESOPUS is referring to, think I have an idea, happening to a # of other roll calls, whatever.  No, I am packing more than wires & cables, smartphones, tablet, adapter, accessories and those washy washy items (remember the "Escape" norovirus ... do not want to go thru that again)  Let me think about a mini Black Wire Project - whatever it means - later when this is behind us.  Susan found room to put "my" iPad mini in her carry-on and leaving her iPad home (too heavy to carry - LOL) - Apple better not do another iOS "urgent" security update in the next several days, since its' all set & powered down, fully charged for gaming, etc.  Isn't it great to find & see other old friends thru this live report - got a feeling both new & old time CC'ers are going to pop up here, cheers all.

James is talking about that Escape cruise, I think? 😁
    The Meeting and Mingling debates.😆

i may have missed it..how much for beach club you went to ,

Beach Club runs from $154 on sale, to $283 and up. on my upcoming cruise it is sold out at $289. Not worth that much, IMHO only, unless you have OBC to spend. Considering one can have a completely $$$$$free (except if you want to tip the bar or toilet attendant) day at Coco Cay.

On one Black Friday sale it went down to $75 for some days. Never seen the two digit price after that. I would get it at that price if it came by again, but I doubt it will.

    OP sorry for butting in.
