  1. No, they do not have great beaches there. We drove by one at Boca Grande. It wasn't anything like the Caribbean beaches. I would suggest you look up excursions at Rosario Islands. I have not been, but have heard a lot of things about them. I almost booked an excursion there but we ended up moving that sailing. You tube Rosario Islands. They are a group of small islands in the bay. They have hip resorts and beaches. There are also ferries but cautious me would do a public ferry only if in port overnight. Look at what Celebrity is offering to Rosario Islands. It may not say "Rosario". This if you are interested in doing a beach type thing. But also consider the old Cartagena excursions. If knee is not behaving, it is a bit of walking around in the walled city so keep that in perspective. Topped with the heat. At one time we did a coffee excursion where they took us to a coffee store, taught us about howw to taste coffee, how to make it, how the flavors come about, etc etc....I am mentioning it because it was all sitting down on tables in air conditioning and tasting coffee of different kinds. I brought home two packs and they are the best coffee I have tasted (IMO). It is San Alberto. There are many other good ones also. Do not buy any coffee from street vendors.....we got fooled with authentic sawdust once!πŸ˜…. I read in their magazines that Cartagena is known for buying swim suits (REALLY???) I didn't see any except the ones that made me say OMG where is the fabric! And Emeralds I said OMG for a different reason.😁
  2. We toured Cartagena with Claudia, the very first time. It was a superb tour. Old town, churches, squares, La Popa, new areas, etc. It was a private group of (I think 25) arranged by someone on our CC roll call. The tour was customized and we covered everything. After that we have been many times and usually went off on our own. I also want to go to one of the island retreats and do a food tour. I have written to Dora many times on the recommendation of others, but she will not customize unless there are a lot of people wanting that particular customization on that particular day. For example, I love to go to the Monastry at La Popa, the new Boca Grande area, go inside some old town churches, etc and spend less time in the Emerald Shop disguised as the Emerald Museum with hard core sales people. I also like to wander around in the squares and plazas in old town.
  3. We have used something like Parking Spot for Newark in the past. Paid $5 to $7 per night for parking. Parking spot was at the Hilton sometimes and the Double Tree twice. I liked the DT parking because they had shuttles to and from. I was wondering where it would be for $5 to $7 but they were both inside their gated parking lot. Not done this recently.
  4. I forgot you were going to Greenland. You won't need AC.πŸ˜‰ But I was talking about our GC experience with tenders.
  5. @Sea Dog Greg, Sending best wishes for you (and Linda). You do what is best for you and do not worry. You have an army here, praying for your and sending you best wishes. It will be all good.
  6. Similar for my August Wonder cruise:$382 and $49.99. I saw the UDP come down to $168 couple of days, tried to click and it said NOT AVAILABLE. Called Royal and sent an email with pictures from my cruise planner asking if these prices can be honored. Executive office replied back giving some excuse, basically saying NO. Then they put some OBC in my account, which disappeared as mysteriously as it had appeared. πŸ˜‰. We do have the three night pkg which we had purchased for $92 (something like that I think?), before that started appearing as NOT AVAILABLE too. The key is not worth purchasing at $49.99, so not doing that, unless it comes down to a price where it is comparable to the internet per day price. Currently Internet prices flips between $19 and $20. No drink package for us, since we are not drinkers, and the 5 per day per person suffices more than enough for us.
  7. Good move! If the internet is $17.99, three tender ports, two meals, carry on help. A word about the tenders esp. Grand Cayman: They put you on priority line to board the tenders, but you have to wait in the tender till it gets filled up, which mutes the "priority" part, since you will be reaching shore at the same time as other fellow passengers. Waiting in line in the AC or waiting on the tender to fill up, I'll take the AC, but whatever one feels comfortable with. We had the Key on one Anthem sailing , purchased because it was same as the internet price and made sense to have internet plus two meals. I did not make use of carry on luggage drop off, but DH did.. No tender ports on that one.
  8. 🀣Lenny, I am picturing you as a pier sprinter, running back from Senor Frog's to catch the ship, with that balloon art hat on your head and a tall beer sipper in your hand.🀣 I know you probably have never done that in your life πŸ˜‰, and if you plan to now, please make sure I am on that cruise too so I can catch the pictures.😁🀣
  9. The round craft ice feature is very cool in that LG model. How long does it take to make the spheres and how many does it make?
  10. We also read about the LG compressor problems/reviews and lawsuit on the Inverter compressor ( or whatever that is!). Otherwise LG overall has good reviews. We have LG washer, dryer and TV. They are good.
  11. Thank you to all who chimed in regarding the refrigerator questions. Thanks for all the good knowledge and do's and dont's. We decided on the GE Profile. We first narrowed it down to LG, GE and Kitchenaid. Kitchenaids were very hard to find "in person". Saw one at Lowe's and one at Best Buy...inventory was questionable. LG seems to be the most popular. GE seemed to have all that I needed. Tough first world choice.😁....LG or the GE. The big sticker on the GE made the decision: "Proudly made in America". Made or assembled, all good. To us it meant stricter/better quality control than something made in China (Not dissing them, just stating what we felt). I did like the Samsung, but so many told us to stay away, so did the pros at HD, Lowes and BB. They were also of the opinion that if one wants Samsung only, then to look at the new Bespoke. We looked, all bells and whistles were very nice, but felt that it was not for us. The LG looked good also. Loved the door in door feature and craft ice. But felt that more fancy features means more things to go wrong also. Didn't want to deal with those issues (if they were to arise at all). Did not need wifi enabled.....nice but did not absolutely need it. So, after all considerations and everyone's help, we went with GE Profile. It is a french door, bottom freezer with water and ice maker in the door and an option to have a second ice maker in the freezer, which we chose. Wanted to mention, we did not have to pay sales tax......Florida is having a sales tax holiday on appliances under some $$$ amounts. Different "rebates" for different appliances. If you are in the market, make sure mention it, since many HD, BB or Lowes do not know about it. Our local Lowes had a flyer mentioning it, but did not know how to apply it to an order. We ordered from HD online, while having a customer service manager on chat, who had to apply the no sales tax and a % off coupon DH got in a "welcome to FL" packet.....Ooops I was almost throwing it away in the junk mail recycling bin. Sorry for the long post. But thank you to this family for excellent tips on refrigerator 101.
