  1. Do these count against the 6 free per day? I thought I read they do or at least they are supposed to?
  2. That isn’t paranoia. That is normal behavior. A large percentage of folks don’t leave out valuables. Many do, many don’t. To each their own based on risk tolerance.
  3. A meteorologist wouldn’t have helped one bit regarding that recent furniture flying on the Independence. If then not having one makes anyone feel unsafe on a cruise, I’m not really sure what to say. The technology now and is better than ever and having an in house person was all PR. If that makes you feel safe, great. But it is window dressing and unnecessary.
  4. I assume you don’t use it for work? The data I have on my computer is not worth leaving it laying out when it takes about 5 seconds to put it out of sight.
  5. Many passengers waking by will take your laptop? Respectfully disagree. A very very small %, yes possibly. But a stupid move on a ship either way. Regardless, hotel or ship I would not leave anything valuable laying out. I always put my laptop back in my backpack when not using it. I put expensive jewelry or money in the safe. It take no time at all so why not at least make it harder for the rare person with bad intentions.
  6. I’d leave it out on a ship 100 times over before a hotel. That’s my opinion.
  7. Our kids loved the pizza on our last cruise in March. Feel bad for the cook. 😂😂
  8. The pizza is fine. And assume this is a kid so I’m sure he will like it.
  9. Of course. Passengers pretty much lost a day and dealt with a ton of disruption.
  10. This was always an issue for us travel and it creates difficulties in any size room when it’s just one room. You just have to roll with it and be as quiet as possible if you are worried this will be a problem. In a regular cabin it can certainly be tight, let alone an inside room. Good Luck.
  11. It was a snarky comment and they were hoping for attention and a laugh. Are you suggesting it wasn’t? What does 9am have anything to do with it? Is the person with the noon flight betting off in this scenario? Hence, context. Are the folks facing hours delay boarding or getting him dealing with a PITA situation. Of course they are. But let’s make a 9 am flight joke. What next a joke about pulling one day of tips? They can say what they want. But in my opinion that low hanging fruit of a bad joke is tasteless given the long delay, the disruption caused to so many, and the deaths of some.
  12. Nice way to deflect from the thoughtlessness of your comment. For what it is worth I drive and I wouldn’t complain if I did miss a flight. Preach to others about early flights and do it on a day when the early time would’ve actually mattered and people didn’t die to cause the delay. Your comment was ridiculous because late flight or early, people were impacted. Grow up already and understand context.
  13. So why didn’t you ask the same question but about a noon or 2 pm flight? What do you think happened to those folks? Not the time to make a point about early flights because this would’ve impacted any flight that day. So your point is a poor one and thus also in poor taste.
  14. They won’t be making a noon flight either. Poor taste saying this. People have died in the accident causing this problem.
  15. Of course there is a market for 3 and 4 night cruises. Many people love them because they can fit them in their busy work schedules. Been this way for decades. But rolling out the newest biggest ship for 3 and 4 nighters is certain new. Will see how long it lasts. Also, Royal has be doing 7 nighters with their biggest ships out of PC for a long time. So the PC market being different doesn’t apply or make much sense IMO.
  16. You lose a good chuck of time on a B2B on turn around day and so much closed on that day for varying parts of the day. Much rather be on a 7 night cruise versus B2B. I guess if you are retired and cruise all the time it matters little. But otherwise, far from ideal IMO. I’d much rather be on an older Oasis class for a week than a Utopia B2B.
  17. If you’ve been to Rome and Barcelona previously and don’t care about sightseeing, I’d pick Barcelona for ease of process. But if you’ve never been to Rome or either city, I’d pick Rome and spend several days in Rome before or after. Rome is a city unlike any other. I like Barcelona, but it nothing like Rome and I would pick Rome over Barcelona all day long as a place to visit again. Just remember that you have long commutes to the actual city in many or some of the ports. So if you go to Rome as a stop you will have far less time than is posted to visit the city. You’ll probably spend at least 3 hours commuting round trip.
  18. Because you can pick whatever time you want without a worry and wait until onboard to do so if you want. Need isn’t the right word. Want would be the appropriate word.
  19. For most of the restaurants, zero problem and the genie will probably suggest a schedule ahead of time. They usually email you 2-4 weeks out and include a suggested schedule (meals and shows). Then you email them with changes you want. Nowadays they don’t guarantee a time or spot for chefs table or Izumi as I recall. So some book those ahead at the exact times they want and get refunded (which only comes in onboard credits-that is the downside). But if your flexible on day and times, the genie will probably get you in all of those. They did for us and we didn’t book anything ahead. I’m sure it varies week to week. Chefs table was nice, but nothing I’d sweat missing. Long dinner and good, but nothing spectacular. One and done for us. Last star class cruise we skipped it and did the others instead. Izumi hibachi is fun and different, but it is more for the experience. Fyi. You can message your genie the same day on the cruise and tell them you want to make a switch of a reservation. It will be accommodated 99% of the time. You really won’t need to worry about much. Just relax and enjoy.
  20. That spot right in front of the camera is a total wind tunnel. During a TA and doing laps it would be a solid 40-50mph almost every day for the crossing part of the trip. That’s why those chairs were blowing without even being sideways which would create a sail effect. If the winds below by the pool were blowing chairs, the wind on the track most have been crazy.
  21. There were anxious because they weren’t sure it was as simple just a BC being all you need for a child (and no ID needed). They didn’t say they were anxious because they were worried about getting stuck somewhere without a passport.
  22. Good move if it is cheap enough and you find value in the 4 free drinks each day. But if you are the type to buy the drink package or do not t drink at all and are fine with included beverages, an extra cruise may not be worth it.
  23. Agree. It is a total pain and expensive for those of us with several kids. And the passports are only good for 5 years (effectively about 4.5 when factoring in needing it plenty early and not being able to travel most places right up until it expires).
  24. Mine does. Including medical evacuation. But I definitely have a good plan and I have no idea about other plans. Are you sure Aetna simply doesn’t cover you out of country? Perhaps it is just out of network? Regardless, many people most definitely purchase redundant coverage they don’t need. Everyone should check their primary coverage so they know what they need.
  25. It is a solid 750 for passports for a family of 5. To many it is worth the infinitely small risk to save that kind of money if you only want to do cruises over the next several years. Many with young kids are not going to travel where you need a passport.
