  1. I have been on all five of the Disney ships. It is true that the Wish is different from the other 4 but none the less it is a beautiful ship. Lots of Marvel and Star Wars. I'm 75 years old and prefer classic Disney Characters. The dinning is amazing and the shows were excellent.  Lots of kid areas. Adult areas are scattered throughout the ship. Even if Marvel and Star Wars don't appeal to you, the ship is really something special.

  2. Wonderful review.  We are 3 sisters cruising next week without kids.  We are Platinum and have been on the other 4 ships in the past. We want to do a cruise come winter with a group of 7 and the women were on a scouting mission to decide between the 4 -day Wish and the 7 -day Fantasy.  Your review was very insightful and gives us a good idea of what we should look for. Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review.

  3. My husband and I love to dance when we are cruising.  It is very dangerous to have little ones running around the dance floor when older people are dancing. It is unsafe for the dancers and for the children. I have been on many cruises where parents do not monitor their little ones and think it is cute when they run around the dance floor weaving in and out around the dancers.

We love knowing that after nine we can dance without an obstacle course of small children.  And I do love to see a parent dancing with their child which is not the same as letting a child run loose on the dance floor.

  4. We are looking for a cruise line with dancing, not strict ballroom but social dancing like slow dancing and swings. Many, many years ago all the cruise lines had dancing at night but from what I am reading there is not much dancing.  Any suggestions will be very much appreciated.

  5. We were on the Regal Princess last week.  The main dining room head waiter was wonderful. Every night he showed us the menu for the following day and told my husband which meals could be modified to be dairy free.  They provided him with margarine every night because he cannot tolerate butter. His only complaint was no dairy free desserts in the buffet.  Each day he asked and each day was promised there would be something the next day but it did not happen.

  6. We just got off the Regal Princess.  We did a 7 day Eastern Caribbean with stops at Princess Cay, St Thomas and St Martin. This was not our first

Princess cruise but our first on a Royal class ship. First let me say I thought the ship was beautiful.  As we have come to expect the service was excellent.  We had a couple of issues that were important to us.  My biggest issue was babies in diapers.  I did speak to a pool attendant who told me swim diapers were allowed.  This is not what was stated in the sign by the pool.  It is of great concern to me that the Princess Corporation ignores the law when it comes to this issue.

My husband needs to be dairy free and although there was plenty to eat there were no dairy free desserts on the buffet.  He asked every day and was told there would be something tomorrow but the only day there was something he could eat was the last day when they had apple pie.

We love to dance. Most dancing took place in the atrium. This is a tile floor and is hard to dance on tile. There were venues with beautiful wood floors that were not used. Surprisingly there were many dancers on the cruise who would have enjoyed dancing on a wood floor.

For those people concerned about bar soap, it was provided. I did not need to ask for it.

Overall the cruise was fun but I think we will stay away from the Royal Class and go on older ships where the floors are better for dancing.

Make sure You decide what you are looking for if you book.  On previous cruise, it was a quiet retreat, comfortable loungers, afternoon tea etc. But on my current cruise 37 day on emerald, it’s been filled with loud talking, laughing, people playing cards etc.  A child in the adult only pool screaming etc for over two hours.  So definitely not what I was going for.

If I had paid $40 a day to be in the Sanctuary l would have been very upset to have a screaming child in the adult pool.  I'm usually not very assertive but I think I would have said something to the attendant .

  8. Thanks for letting us know about this promotion.  I was able to get the dining added to two cruises i had booked under 3 for free. it only took my TA about 10 minutes to refare.  We've never done Specialty Dining. We are in our 70's and don't really eat enough to justify the additional cost.  So this will be a real treat.

This forum is a great source of information.

  9. Thank all of you for the information on dining.  I did not realize you need reservations for the shows as well.  I will have the other couple, who do all reservations, to look into that.

I did not realize how different the cruise lines are as far as policies go.  Your answers are very helpful.

  10. Hi Cruisers,  We are sailing NCL for the first time with friends having mostly sailed with Princess.  As part of the booking promotion we received a 3 meal dinning package.  I am having trouble on the NCL website finding information on how this works.  Do we order off the regular menu?  I noticed the Italian is a la carte.  Can we order more than one course or does the promotion only cover entrée?  Our friends have made the reservations already so I am really looking for information on the menu and what the additional cost might be. We have already paid the gratuities with our booking. He has booked the Italian, steakhouse and Japanese restaurant and we are on the Breakaway.  Any insight would be much appreciated.

  11. Hi , my husband and I are cruising to these islands in Dec on Regal.  Len has some stomach issues that make it difficult  to know when or if he will be able to leave the ship. Because of this we usually do not do ship excursions and just get off when we can  and look for something to do.  Anyone have any advice on how to get around these islands and things to do.  We have been to these islands before but did not get off the ship.  Thanks for any ideas you can share.
