  1. Instead of trying to make Princess change things to your liking, why don't you find a cruise line that already offers what it is that you want? There's gotta be a cruise line out there that has what you prefer.

Consider this .... Princess loyalists are loyal BECAUSE they like Princess just the way it is, music included!! And there's a lot of us who have done lots of Princess cruises!

    Well said. I agree.

  2. I would be cautious about them crawling around outside your cabin. You have about 3,000 other people walking around who might not be aware on the twins on the floor.

I was once on a dance floor where a mom was allowing her child to crawl between the dancers. One by one the dancers left the floor in fear off tripping over her. Mom seemed pleased she cleared the floor and now the child had it all to herself. I'm sure the poster was not planning to do this but I mentioned it as an example of how inconsiderate some people are. By the way she was overheard saying, I paid for her, she has just as much right to the dance floor as anyone else.

  3. Does anyone know if Princess has any plans to have a ship go out of Port Canaveral? With the addition of new ships perhaps they might have one to do cruises out of this port. It is very easy to get to from central Florida.

  4. Just got off her yesterday. Yes, she is small. That being said the service was excellent, one of the best crews we have had. Food was good and plentiful. There is a large pool deck and we were always able to find a place to sit. It did not feel crowded at all. We like to ballroom dance and there isn't a lot of places to do that but considering the crowd was much younger than us I'm not surprised.

I thought the cruise was a great short getaway.

  5. We just booked a last minute 4 night cruise to the Bahamas on the Majesty next week. We don't usually cruise Royal Caribbean. Please anyone who has cruised one of these short cruises tell me about Formal night. We usually follow the directive for a cocktail dress and dark suit but are wondering is this really the norm on these short cruises. Would we feel terribly under dressed in a polo shirt and dress pants for him and a sundress for me?

I am not looking to start another debate. I just want to know what to expect.

    Thanks,

  6. Hi to all and thank you in advance for any answers. It is our first time on this cruise line , the Norwegian Sky, and have a few questions.

I want to know about tipping. Is it automatically added to the shipboard account or cash only at the end or both?

Are there places to dance with a variety of music? We are older and really like to dance.

Because it is currently open bar, is there an excess of drunk people with inappropriate behavior? I read spring break was overrun with drunk college kids but we are going in May.

I know food is very subjective but I would be interested in any comments about food.

We have only done traditional dinning. Is there anything I need to know about free style dinning? Do they sit you with other people or will we always be by ourselves?

Thanks for any answers. It was a last minute decision to do this cruise (yesterday) and I am concerned.

  7. I just returned from a Princess cruise my third with Princess and 2 out of the 3 had a diapered baby in the pool. Both times I asked a crew member about the policy. The first time I was told he was sure it was a very clean baby and the second time I was told no one on the ship is responsible for enforcing the rule. They expect parents to do the right thing. Maybe every time anyone sees a diapered baby in a cruise line pool it should be reported to the CCD or whoever monitors this. I think it is very unhealthy that the cruise lines don't follow this regulation.

  8. We were on the Emerald the week before. Did you see any diapered babies in the pool? On our cruise there was a baby in the pool and also in the hot tub . When I questioned a crew member about this I was told although it is a health regulation, it is no one's job to enforce it. Since you said there were many families with small children, I wondered if you encountered the same situation. I thought health regulations were supposed to be enforced.

  9. We were with a couple that removed the auto tips and the last day handed the waiters envelopes. However he did not put his name on the envelope. So I wondered how the waiter would know this was given to him by someone who had removed the auto tip. We also gave the waiter an envelope without a name in addition to the auto tip. He put both in his pocket. So how would he distinguish between the two?

  10. Since we learned to ballroom dance we have been traveling Princess. We would like to try Independence of the Seas but would like to know if there is any ballroom dancing on board. We know there will probably be more families on Royal Caribbean and that is fine with as long as we can dance. Anyone who travels Royal Caribbean cruises please tell me about dancing. Thanks.

  11. We have NOT received the survey but we know about the change to "Evening Chic" on Celebrity and are not happy about it. It's not so much the name but the parameters that bother me.

Jeans are considered "Chic" in their current dress code.

My feeling is that people generally push the limits (plenty of men only wear long sleeved shirts with no jacket already on what is called "formal") and now I see absolutely no difference between "chic" and other nights.

Too bad to lose another little special part of cruising.

Having dealt with high school dress codes for 30 years I feel confident saying there will always be people who push the limits. Everyone has their own interpretation of what is appropriate. I want Princess to clearly state what is appropriate in their dinning room and then stick to it. People have other options. I fear when the cruise line says casual is ok for dinner there will be people who come to dinner in their pajamas.

  12. I taught high school for 30 years and I have found that there are always people who test the limits. If the cruise line suggests formal, a few will try to push to business casual. If it is business casual, then why not casual. If it is casual why not pajamas? At least by keeping it "formal" there is less of a chance of people showing up in their jammies. And yes I have seen people in PJ's in the buffet.
