  1. Oh, I was thinking the Hilton Airport Hotel might be convenient for a dropoff since it is basically connected by a covered walkway. So do you think the Hilton wouldn't work?
  2. I'm thinking of taking a 5-hour MSC transfer from Civitavecchia to FCO that includes a drive through Rome with a stop at St. Peter's. I've stayed in Rome numerous times so I'm just looking at a fun, relaxing way to end the cruise before the long flight home. So, thinking of flying out the next AM and looking for recommendations for airport hotel that has access to a nice place for dinner and includes breakfast. Any thoughts? I'm hoping the bus driver will let us off at a hotel!
  3. Our transatlantic on the Divina arrives in Civitavecchia on June 9 and MSC offers a transfer to FCO that includes a 5 hour drive past the highlights of Rome with a stop at St. Peter's. I've been to Rome (and throughout Italy) a number of times so I'm thinking of taking this as a scenic way to the airport, spend the night in an airport hotel and fly out the next AM. Is this possible, or will the shuttle only take us to the gate of our airline? Hopefully your luggage goes on the bus with you?
  4. Yes, I happened to watch this video this AM and I had the same reaction as you. First of all, he knew it was a crew only gangway and yet entered anyway because it was the most convenient for his aft balcony cabin. The security officer coming up from behind most likely didn't know he wasn't a crew member and was obviously on his way to an incident and in a hurry to respond. This guy was in the wrong place, period.
  5. Yes, I'm having the same problem trying to see if they offer shuttle service to FCO from Civitavecchia. They have the 5 hour tour of Rome ending at the airport but I can't find a direct shuttle service.
  6. I haven't sailed Celebrity since I was on Solstice in 2011 and will be on the Beyond Dec. 4 - 11. I thought it would work like anytime dining on some of the other lines, just show up whatever time you like. But with 4 main dining rooms, are all of them "select"? Do we have to make reservations once on board? Also, do we need to make reservations for the theater shows? Thanks in advance for your help.
  7. Oh no, just Fantastica. We just showed up around 6:30 and were seated right away. We asked for the same server after the first night and were accommodated with that also.
  8. How interesting - thanks for the info. It's a long cruise so this will be helpful!
  9. I was on the Meraviglia for 7 nt cruise in late February this year and we just went to the dining room when we wanted, never had a problem. Has this changed?
  10. Friends and I are going on the 25-nt TA on the Divina next May and booked under the free upgrade to balcony and $500 OBC. So we don't have a drink package yet, and looking at what's included I doubt we'll purchase one as the cost for that long of a cruise would be quite exorbitant. My friends only drink Maker's Mark (really) and are wondering if it's possible to purchase several bottles for consumption in the cabin. Does anyone know?
  11. Thanks for sharing. I'm on her for the Miami to Rome TA next May and love hearing all of these good things!
  12. I need to correct something - I am now platinum with Princess, which moved me up to a different level with MSC. I'm having so much trouble with the website though, I guess I'll need to break down and call next week. When I try to submit my loyalty number for the Voyagers Club, it says there's an error with my number. However, I just booked a 26 nt TA a few days ago and had no problem submitting it for the discount. UGH.
  13. I need to change from the cruiseline I have registered now for MSC status match to a different one - it should change me from gold to platinum with MSC. When I looked at the online form for status match, I didn't see anyplace to just update. It looks like you'd be starting all over and would they then assign a different loyalty number too? I don't want to completely mess things up.
  14. Same here. First was on Divina when it started sailing out of the U.S. 8 years ago, loved it! Have since sailed twice on Meraviglia and just booked a 25 nt transatlantic on the Divina for next May. I love MSC!
  15. THank you. I understand everyone needs the covid test, what I'm questioning is the vaccination requirement for children 12 and under.
  16. Is it still kids 12 and over must be fully vaxed and those 2 to 12 who are unvaxed need the pre-cruise covid test? Wondering for my 10-yr-old granddaughter. It looks like these are the requirements according to their website anyway but things are changing so rapidly.
