  1. I find it plausible that OP paid off her cruise and somehow gratuities were added without her knowledge making it look like she still owed on her cruise. I had something similar happen to me except it was the insurance that was added at a later time without my knowledge.

  2. card them? Who carries around ID on a ship? Do they actually check their age on their S&S card? While on the ship, I carry only my S&S and some singles for tipping

I have had to go back to my cabin and get my ID on a Carnival cruise more than once. I now just carry my ID with me on the ship. Despite being in my 30s, I am still mistaken for a teenager.

  3. 2 things,

    1. the adult show is pretty late, after all the main shows are over

    2. I wouldn't bet on what your 14 year old has heard.

One guy on the Magic was so foul, we left. These were barely jokes. It was an XXX rated verbal description.

We are by no means prudes. We are in the balcony club. The other adult comedians were very funny.

I have also walked out of a comedy show due to the vulgarity and I an no prude. When the comedian started talking extremely sexual about me personally, it has gone to far.

  4. Unfortunately I've also seen a drunk barely teen trying to order from a bar. It made me wonder how he got so drunk in the first place. Someone had to give the kid the alcohol.

When I was 21, I looked 13. I was constantly being questioned in bars, casinos, liquor stores, etc. They wouldn't even bother checking my ID most of the time, they would just kick me out. If I ordered a drink at a restaurant, the servers would laugh thinking I was joking. Even on Carnival, I had problems ordering drinks. They would accuse me of using someone else's S&S because there was no way I could be 22 and married (S&S said Mrs.). I was even asked to sign up for the teen club when I was 23!

  5. I have a KYSS bag. It locks and you can chain it to a chair, tree, etc so no one can take off with it. I live near the beach so I use mine all the time. This way I can go in the water and not worry about someone taking off with my stuff.

  6. That is the tour we were settled on and I have just emailed them for availability, but I am second guessing it from their online time schedule. It looks like you are only on the island for 45 minutes?

I can't remember exactly how long we were on the island for, but it was definitely longer than 45 minutes. We had plenty of time to relax, snorkel and eat.

  7. My 12 year old nephew was was required to change out of his nice sleeveless shirt before he could go to the MDR for lunch, yet I have seen people in bathrobes in the MDR at dinner. I guess it just depends on who is working and whether they see you enter.

  8. If everything goes smoothly, you will have no problem making a flight at 11:55. I have been on cruises where I was off the ship and on the road by 7:30 AM, and I have been on a cruise that had a Customs issue where they didn't even start letting people off until almost 10 AM.

  9. OMG! It's all a matter of personal perspective. If "mid range" restaurants are Outback, Longhorn and Roadhouse, I would hate to see what low end in your area equates to.

In NYC, Chicago and San Fran, these 3 would be low end for sure. Ruth's is a mid class and Morton's a bit better and Peter Lugar's is in our higher end tier.

As to the OP's question, whether the Chef's Table is worth it, is definitely a matter of personal perspective. See my comment above. I've never eaten at the Chef's Table since I don't drink alcohol, but I enjoy a good meal at the Steakhouse.every cruise.

Did you seriously just respond to my post to insult me? I do not live in NYC, Chicago, or San Fran where we have 5,000 restaurants to choose from. Where I am, Longhorn and Outback are your standard, everyday middle of the road steakhouses.

  10. We usually cruise in the hot summer months. My DH wears dress pants and a dress shirt and I would say that is what the majority of men wear. You will also see a lot of men in khakis and a polo. There are plenty of guys that still wear suits, but they are definitely not the majority anymore. I don't think I have seen a man in a tux in years. Personally, I like to wear a nice cocktail dress, put you will see women in anything from a pantsuit to an evening gown, with most women somewhere in between like me.

  11. I have never done the Chef's Table. I am not a very adventurous eater, so I don't think it is worth it for me. I did the Steakhouse for the first time a few cruises back. I only did it because I had a lot of OBC from ES price drops that I had to use up. It was so good, that I make sure to eat there at least once per cruise now. It is way better than the MDR and much better than mid range chain steakhouses like Outback, Longhorn, Roadhouse, etc.

  12. I am thinking about buying the social media plan so I can keep in contact with my house/pet sitter while I am away. If I purchase the social media plan for the whole cruise, am I able to upgrade to the value plan at any time if I decide I need it instead? Will I just be charged the difference?

  13. I am a germaphobe and would never dream of using a public shower without sandals. I have yet to wear sandals in my cabin shower. The cabins are disinfected between guests. On disembarkation day, you can see the cabin stewards thoroughly cleaning the cabins.

  14. Where can these magical gift cards be found? Especially if I have cell service with AT&T and car insurance with Progressive and I'm not old enough to be in AARP?

I am in my 30s and get mine from AARP. Yuu don't have to be a member. You just register on their website and join their Rewards for Good program. It is free for anyone.
