We will be coming into port on Sunday. Would taking an 11:35 am flight be cutting it too close? We plan on carrying our luggage off the ship.

I agree with nitemare. I guess Princeton hasn’t been at the terminal when two or more ships are off/on loading. It isn’t the travel time that takes long, it’s finding & getting into a correct vehicle. I would say you would make it for 11:35 with carry own luggage.

I’m sailing out of Quebec to Boston on sept 7th on the emerald princess and was wondering how much time I should give myself to get from the Boston cruise port to the Boston airport by taxi?  Anyone who has done this I would appreciate your info.  Thanks!

It really depends on what day of the week you are in Boston.  NCL has  weekend scheduled sailings from Boston plus other cruise lines may just be stopping for a day visit.  Thus traffic congestion at the cruise terminal is a factor to be considered.  Normally it would take 10-15 minutes.  But, on a busy day I would allow at least an hour if you plan to schedule an Uber or private transportation.

  3. Isn’t Baltimore harbor still closed due to the freighter ship accident and subsequent bridge collapse?

There are numerous name brand hotels in the harbor area. There was one near the aquarium that I stayed at which was very nice. Can’t recall the brand name probably a Hilton hotel.

Flying into Boston on a Friday and boarding a cruise ship on Saturday.

Any creative ideas how to lower the high cost of staying in Boston

proper for that one night by staying outside of the city.  Appreciate

    any thoughts.

Have you looked at the airport Hilton, Embassy Suites, or La Quinta in Somerville.?

Trying to figure out where the baggage drop off is at the terminal. Looking at Google Street View I'm assuming you can pull over at "Terminal 2" ?  My plan is to drop our bags off with my wife, and then drive down to Parking at "C" lot and walk back to check it. I already made reservations and paid for the parking

That’s the way to plan it. There is only one large terminal building so it should be easy accept for the traffic. If there are police guiding cars, just lay him know what you are doing and he’ll direct you. Terminal is on the left and street is a one way.

can you post a phone number for Lot C st. Parking?

Myself and a friend are cruising from Boston on a 15 day Royal Caribbean cruise to Canada and Greenland in September.  I just checked parking and the rate quoted for parking at the port was $570!!!  I searched and found parking in a lot on Black Falcon Avenue through ParkWhiz for $212.  Has anyone parked here and how far is it to the port and is it safe?  That's certainly a big difference in price.  We are driving from NJ so arriving the day before.  TYIA for any help.

Did you check on Massport.gov or com? The garage across the street from the terminal is now private thus they lease spots to local businesses for long term daily parking. Massport used to have a street lot on D Street. Check it out. Leave off your passenger with your luggage and either walk back or take a shuttle if they still have one. Good luck.

    Hi there

Going on a Canada NE cruise out of Boston in August and we would like to spend a few days pre cruise in Boston since we've never been there.  I'd appreciate any tips on hotels and things to do.  We like museums, theatre, and yummy food (doesn't need to be high end, just good!). We'll have our teen daughter with us too so anything that teens might like would be good as well.  Thanks in advance.

First book a hotel room with 2 double beds.  Try the Millennium as it was the most reasonable when we were doing the cruise. Take the HOHO Old Town Trolley and Don’t get off unless you have to. This method of touring will save your energy. Places of interest are the Freedom Trail, John Hancock  building has a panoramic wall around on its top floor. Don’t eat there nor at Cheers as they are tourist traps. Eat in the North end = Italian and waterfront for seafood. Yes Fenway park is great to see if you want to try the Boston subway system. Get a Charlie card for multiple trips. Faneuil hall is great just to walk around and people watch.  College students will be back in school so it will be busy on a week.

    Just to a local hotel.

Just call Uber or get a taxi. Same with going to the port. Ask him if he knows the port well. I did just see an UBER driver going the wrong way on a road at a terminal. Scary!

  9. Boston Hotels with parking. For Boston downtown, you won’t find much or will pay up to $60 per day just to park. I suggest looking at the LaQuinta in Somerville. They have an outside lot. Then you can drive to the port on embarkation day and park is the Massport lot.

My husband and I are sailing out of Miami in February. Our best flight option gets us into Miami very early the day before our cruise (assuming our flight is on time!). Does anyone know of any hotels that allow you to either check in very early or drop/store your luggage ahead of your check-in time? We would like to be free of our luggage to explore Miami for the day.

Edited to add our flight is scheduled to land at MIA at 9:20am.

I would get your luggage at the airport and head to your hotel. Ask them if it’s possible to check in early or if they will kindly store your luggage, while you go out and tour. Most will do this for their guests.

Is there a park n cruise motel in Boston?

Not really.  You may try Park, Stay and Fly or hotels in Revere, Quincy or Somerville (on the outskirts of Boston) to see if they have an airport shuttle first and ask if they have a parking package. To take a taxi or Uber from there might be expensive.  There is a MASSport parking lot near D Street. As they have a contract with NCL, they don't open up their excess reservations until about 2 weeks before sailing. Most drivers drop off their passengers, with luggage, go park and walk back to the Ray Flynn/Black Falcon  (terminal). The  garage across from the terminal is no longer an option. Also look on the Boston as a port forum.
