  1. We ordered pizza and salad through Ocean Now, and it all came with additional charges.
  2. This is what we found out, but no where in the advertising/marketing, does it say that food costs were extra. They just promote the fact that the normal $14.99 delivery charge is included in the Plus packages. They will charge additional for the food, even if it's the most basic stuff. Plan accordingly.
  3. And there it is!!! Exactly my point, thank you. As a first time cruiser on Princess (we've been on about 12 others on other lines), you helped make my point. It's not clear in many areas, and you're learning as you go. It's was never about the cost of the food, but the implementation and the way things are advertised/marketed.
  4. That's an interesting concept. A few bucks here, a few bucks there, and before long, you're looking at some serious dollars "extracted". What I found out, they added some last minute charges on Sunday morning as we were disembarking, and not checking the folio. Then, I noticed with the new Princess App, all your data from the week gets wiped out after you leave the ship, so you can't even check your folio account on the app to see the charges. The surprised came the next day, when they emailed my current folio with all the different charges. People need to do a screen shot of their folio the last day, to compare to the email version sent after you leave.
  5. Exactly. Mr Muppet is from the UK, so he might not understand our way of thinking. Plus, like I said above, Ocean Now is "advertised" as order what you want on the ship and we'll track you down anywhere for delivery, based on your medallion. Nothing in the Plus Package advertising did I see it stated that we would be charged separately for every item ordered.
  6. Except the app doesn't say it's a special pizza from Alfredo's. It was a standard pepperoni pizza, nothing special, looked just like a Slices pizza. The complaint was about the deceptive marketing, leaving people to believe that Ocean Now is such a great perk of the Pus package. In reality, it isn't. There's no benefit to having Ocean Now, if they charge for room service for basic food.
  7. LOL... I love these type of comments. No, pizza is not "free" at Slices... it's INCLUDED in the price of the cabin/cruise. There's nothing "free" onboard. There are a lot of items with a dollar sign on them that are included "free" in a Plus package (like special coffee, smoothies, WiFi, frozen drinks, etc.) Apparently, you need an engineering degree to know what's included in a package and what's going to be an additional charge. Who knew pizza, not from Slices, would be one of them. I guess I need to dump my wife, she has way to expensive tastes when it comes to dinner... LOL...
  8. Like I just mentioned, who knew pizza and salad was such an exotic meal, that they had to charge extra for it. Funny, we could get it "included" at Slices and the buffet.... Learn something new every day (on how to get screwed).
  9. I figured we might get the $14.99 one time Ocean Now fee for the delivery, but that wasn't it. They didn't charge for the delivery, they charged for the higher cost food.
  10. Who knew we would order such a exotic meal on a cruise ship, that they had to charge us extra for that specially prepared food (pizza and salad). Let's just say, after numerous issues this week, Princess won't get high praises from us...
  11. We never even touched the gift card balance, which was $250. We also received an OBC for the cabana that I prepaid for, when they cancelled the Princess Cay stop. So, as of Saturday, we had an over $400 credit balance on the account. I asked about refund of the credit, and a GS person said that it will either be credited back to my credit card (in case of the prepaid cabana), or they would mail a check after we got home. No one said they would put it back on the gift card, which they too and I don't have.
  12. I hope not. They took the gift card and I don't have it. It took the Rep at Guest Services a while to figure out how to apply the gift card to my account (it was a standard Princess gift card). He even had to check and talk with an associate to figure it out. Then he said he had to take the card to a different deck to apply it, so I don't have the card. We just used two devices (one each) as part of the Plus package. I didn't see any type of pop up warning about billing for an additional device.
  13. We ordered Pizza and a salad, which was offered as a choice on the App. Hard to believe it wasn't a "covered" item, since it was a standard App choice, and not a special order. When I asked about the charge at Guest Services, they tried to tell me that beverages were no charge, but they charge for any food delivery price. I don't believe that is correct, as they advertise Ocean Now as part of the Medallion and Plus perks. And the amount they billed to my folio was the actual food price in the App, not the Ocean Now one time $14.99.
  14. We used it for food delivery on the Plus package, and were charged separately for the food, as well as the tip. Doesn't seem to be any benefit of being on the Plus plan.
  15. Wow, they are really different. Just wondering, were they both for the same person or another in your cabin? I know my wife's was different then mine.
  16. THIS^^ We were told once, since the ship is operating in International waters, there are no rules, except the ones the ship decides and sets... and remember, the house ALWAYS wins.
  17. Yeah, I didn't do that, and it's so nice, that you can't access any past charges on the App or website after you disembark... everything just disappears... isn't that handy... Note to others, screen shot your folio on the app every chance you get, before it evaporates. I'm in no hurry for the refund, but it appears to me, adding on almost $170 of WiFi charges the final morning seems a bit fraudulent, considering I paid for the Plus package for the week.
  18. We just got off the Caribbean Princess on Sunday. The last time I checked our Folio, we had a credit balance of around $400, due to a gift card being submitted as OBC and a credit from Princess for cancelling our excursion at Princess Cay, since they decided not to allow tenders that day. So, customer service told us earlier in the week, that any unspent OBC will be refunded to us, either back to the original credit card, or they will send a check. Like I said, last time I checked the folio on Saturday, we had a credit. Well, besides our flight home being cancelled at the last minute (a whole different clusterfark by Spirit), I get a email from Princess with the final folio totals. Apparently, since they saw the credit balance, they decided to add two different WiFi charges of $104 and $62 (I already paid for the Plus package before sailing, so WiFi was included), they added some sort of folio to folio charges from my wife's account, then to use up all the rest of the credit, they added a "Referred to Corporate Finance" charge of $238, which then zeroed out all the credit balance. Anyone experience these type of "games" in the past? Of course, I tried to call them, and got some foreign CS person who we really couldn't understand, and they said they couldn't help me, but to go the the "Help" section on the web site, and file a concern through "Post Cruise" drop down comments. Anyone else have them play these type of last minute games/charges before?
  19. Fair enough. But you did come to an open forum and post questions to a large group, so what type of answers did you expect? Bottom line, people need a thick skin to participate in a forum. If you were just expecting to get sympathy for your personal concerns.... well, that doesn't happen in an open forum. You get a wide range of responses/opinions (as you just experienced). To get hostile to other posters because you didn't get the responses you hoped... well... It is what it is.
  20. My issue is that I need to use my original phone number for certain contacts, and not a new, substitute Google voice number. I also ended up turning on International Calling and using Cellular at Sea.... my phone bill will be whatever it ends up being, oh well...
  21. You should go back and read all of the OPs posts. They were concerned about catching an illness or Covid from the steward or from linens provided by the ship, not worrying about the steward stealing something.
  22. My phone wasn't able to use WiFi calling, so I installed Whats App. It's been working fine over WiFi for both text and voice calls. Only issue, the person receiving your text or call also needs WhatsApp installed on their phone. Otherwise, it works just like the normal text or voice apps on my phone.
  23. We are on her right now on a 7 day cruise. Our first on Princess, been on many of the others. Yep, definitely is a older ship showing it's age (first cruise 2004, so it's hitting 20 years old, and had the last refurbish in 2019). Don't look too close, you'll see all the bumps and bruises... That said, we pick cruises based on the itinerary, and not the ship. The crew has been great, food has been fine, onboard activities are OK., although, the passenger base is definitely "older" than what he experienced on some other ships. By 9 PM, the ship is almost a ghost town.... LOL... Don't be in a hurry to get anywhere...
  24. OK, I'm confused. It's fine to be concerned with catching an illness, so precautions are OK. But, if you're really susceptible and concerned with catching something, I don't think being crammed together with 3000 other passengers for a week on a cruise ship would be a good suggestion.
  25. Is "app" a question? What happens if you add a group of words to that search bar, as a question? What comes back then?
