  1. Here's my terrible experience. We booked an excursion a year in advance and charged to our credit card. A few months later the port was cancelled so of course the excursion was also cancelled. Email from Princess said refund would be either credit on credit card or OBC. We didn't care either way. We didn't get a credit card refund and when we got on the ship, no OBC. I went to Excursion Desk with my credit card statements for 7 months showing no credit. The crew member said she would check with the main office and call me. No call. I went back, she said the same thing. Again no call back. Third time I went she told me that they had processed the refund to my credit card for $80. I had paid $120. She had no proof and wouldn't look at my proof. Her manager refused to talk to me. She said that I could have faked the excursions I had printed from their website! After half an hour, she looked at my proof and admitted I hadn't gotten a refund but said to contact my credit card company because they made the mistake. No way can Visa research a credit that never happened. I wrote about this on my survey after the cruise but still out $120. Not happy. Ruined 3 days of my cruise because I was so upset.
  2. We are on the Emerald now. Solar eclipse was amazing! The captain did an outstanding job getting us a perfect view. Passengers were respectful of others. Plenty of room even though thousands of us on the upper decks. Crew handed out wet cloths and water. We are very happy! Thanks Princess.
  3. We went the middle of May and regretted it. The weather was fine but we saw no wildlife, none! And most of the shops were closed. Never been in September so can't comment on that time of the year.
  4. We were on the Discovery in October and also got the invitation in our cabin. I called immediately and they asked me a few questions. Any allergies, drink wine? I said no allergies but only my husband drinks wine. She explained that the cost is the same if I drink wine or not. Ok, fine with me. She said they would let me know. Never heard another word from them.
  5. Hooray! My OBC has finally been added to my account. I emailed Stockperks this morning (9 business days after request) to ask if I should resubmit my request. Four hours later they notified me that my OBC had been added to my account. Yep it's there. So my original request must have fallen through the crack. Hope they improve the service before my next cruise.
  6. I have read of too many issues with the app. I have always used the Princess email to request CCL OBC in the past and it has worked very well. If my OBC isn't added soon I will call.
  7. My OBC is still not on my account. It's been 7 business days since I sent the email to hellostockperks. The email said it would be 5 business days. I'm not worried because there is still time until my cruise but I'm wondering if they are getting slammed or my request fell through the crack.
  8. Thanks so much for your info! Both earlier and now. I was waiting for the website submission because I don't like doing App stuff. But my cruise is getting closer so I will go ahead and email my request to them. I hope Stockperks does get a web page for OBC submission. I've got more cruises coming up. Thanks again.
  9. I thought there was a comment on this thread that Stock Perks was adding a web page version last month so we don't have to use the app. I tried to find the comment but there are too many. So if anyone knows, please let me know. I've been waiting for the non-app version. Thanks.
  10. We were on the Discovery in October. Free machines and products. We went early (5-6 a.m.) and were able to do our laundry. We did 3 loads in 2 weeks.
  11. We were on the Discovery during the Magic Cruise. We booked long before the Magic was announced. There were some magic activities for all passengers and some private events for those who booked through the special Magic phone number. We had the regular productions shows (Rock Opera and Spotlight Bar) plus magic shows. BTW the magic was the best we have ever seen. We live near Las Vegas and have seen many magicians.
  12. I am curious about my original thread being merged with another thread? I didn't know this was possible and who did it? An Admin? Can this thread be closed? Thanks for any info.
  13. When Plus was $40 a day we bought it and figured we broke even or close to it. But $60 a day just doesn't work for us. We never use room service so that is not a factor for us. We spend as little time in our cabin as possible.
  14. By the way, we had other expenses than tips, wi-fi, and drinks. I didn't include them because we would have had the expenses even with the Plus package. We went to Crab Shack (great but messy), Crown Grill (fantastic), several excursions. We had $750 in OBC so our final bill was only $194. We tried to get into 360 but couldn't so that saved us $298.
  15. The amounts I added for the drinks included everything except when we bought a bottle of wine while in port at San Francisco. We were charged $4.07 sales tax for S.F. (I included this in my total). The price of the drinks varied. Beers were $8-10. Cocktails were $11-12. Bottles of wine were $47-55.
  16. We were on the Discovery Princess for two 7-night cruises. We did not buy the Plus package but I kept track to see how much money we saved. Week One Crew appreciation $16 a day x 2 people x 7 days = $224 Wi-fi $7.50 a day x 7 days = $52.50 (we pay half price for internet, my husband doesn't use wi-fi) Wine, beer, cocktails = $168.29 Total $444.79 Plus package $60 a day x 2 people x 7 days = $840 Savings: $395.21 Week Two Crew appreciation $16 a day x 2 people x 7 days = $224 Wi-fi $7.50 a day x 7 days = $52.50 (we pay half price for internet, my husband doesn't use wi-fi) Wine, beer, cocktails = $85.16 Total $361.66 Plus package $60 a day x 2 people x 7 days = $840 Savings: $478.34 If we had purchased the Plus we would have had a few more drinks, had a few coffees at International Cafe. We wouldn't have gone to the casual restaurants or the exercise classes. We probably would have had one or two specialty desserts. So my point is, do the math before you decide.
  17. We got off the Discover yesterday. We rec'd this same invitation on Day 2 of our cruise. I immediately called the Dine Line (we are in a balcony). The woman asked me several questions (allergies, wine?, and reminded me of the cost). Then she said she would put us on the list and if we get to go, we will receive a call 2 days ahead of the dinner. Did not get the call so we didn't go. The way I read the letter, we were invited so don't know why we didn't get to go. I think this invitation is misleading.
  18. We take the laundry sheets because they are lightweight and not messy. We usually use 2 per load. And we take dryer sheets too. We were on the Crown to Hawaii in February and the washers and dryers were free.
  19. I don't know about Alaska but when we missed Maui earlier this year we got $3 each.
  20. Wow, this is the first I've heard of this. I would love this and have made the suggestion on my last few Princess surveys. We are not big eaters and prefer to eat our big meal at lunch. I hope this is available next month for us. Thanks for the info!
  21. We had the opposite problem in February on the Crown to Hawaii. So many crew with not enough to do. But about half of them were on their first contract so not completely trained. We had 3 servers at dinner. The cleaning crew was on their knees cleaning carpet spots. The maintenance crew was touch up painting the ship in every port. In the buffet and IC the servers kept reminding us that they could get our tea/coffee for us. We prefer getting out own. Just a few examples.
  22. We were on the Crown in February. The Ultimate Ship Tour was offered and we signed up. A few days later we got a call cancelling the tour. So maybe they are getting closer to reinstating it.
  23. When we cruised in February, the UST was listed in the Patter (or whatever it's called now). Small notice at the bottom of a page. We signed up but it was later cancelled. Wouldn't hurt to check with Guest Services. And when we do our reviews after the cruise we always mention that we hope the UST returns.
  24. Thanks for suggesting I resubmit my request. My OBC has been posted to my next two cruises! One less thing to worry about.
  25. Thanks for your suggestion. I will resubmit. I guess I'm used to the old days when they took weeks to apply the credit. Yes, I've been checking our account every day.
