If you are not in YC then I suggest you arrive before 10:00 am. After that there will be a lot of traffic and lines to get into the terminal will be snaking outside.

We are sailing Venezia in 13 days. I saw wording on Carnivals site that indicates we can order the 12 pack onboard for the same $9.95 I may just order in advance so it would be one less thing to deal with onboard.

I did a poor job asking my question. In my scenario my DW got DOU while playing in the casino for her. Not DOU for her and a companion. My question was since I do not have a DOU for this sailing would I be allowed to purchase Cheers for me alone vs the usual requirement that we both purchase ?

Wow. You see those fares for 1/5/25 cruise ? Gen pop inside with drink package and unlimited wi-fi for two (Fantastica) a bit over $1800.00 for two. No add on service charge from drink package. That's for a 10 night to Caribbean ! YCI around same price less then a comparable cruise in a balcony on NCL. I'm sure MSC sailing year round from NYC was a factor in NCL pulling a second ship from NY in the Winter..

MSC's Winter options are much better in 2025. They have some nice Eastern Caribbean itineraries then.

Carnival Venezia (sailing out of NYC) has a small "annex casino" near their main Casino. It has slots and table games and is smoke free. I'm pretty sure a few other Carnival ships have the smoke free annex casino as well. To me this is a great way for cruise lines to accommodate both smokers and non smokers who want to enjoy the casino...

Even at current and future prices cruising is still one of the best values vs. other types of vacations. For example I recently went to Cape May NJ with the family. Room was $750.00 per night. With food, drinks, and attractions we spent over 4k for 3 nights. I don't even want to think what a family of 4 would spend on a 7 day trip to Disney or an All inclusive...

Casino isn't closed the first night. They will open as soon as they are in international waters. Figure 2 hours after sail away..

Carnival and Royal have been offering upcharge Steak and Lobster options for years. Same with my recent MSC cruise. I can definitely see the value in this. You are paying $15.00 to $25.00for a supposedly better cut of meat . Then getting apps, sides and dessert as an included add on in the MDR. Great way to save some money. It's also a great if you have young children and don't want to bring them to Cagneys..

I agree 6:00 is dinner time for many. Most cruises I have been on day 2 was a sea day and CC meet up was at 11:00 am on day 2. For this itinerary they should have made meet and greet 4:30 pm on day 2

MSC still had twice a day service when I sailed on Meraviglia thus past May. Not that I would pick a cruiseline based on once or twice a day service.

Can anyone who had Aurea experience out of Brooklyn explain how priority embarkation is handled ? I assume it is different area then YC ?
