My first cruise was a 4 day weekend with some college friends out of Miami in 1974. Very different then. Women all dressed after 6. Skeet shooting off the back of the ship, streamers and balloons! It was great but life interfered and I didnt go again until 1991. It has been steady ever since!

Our cemetery theft happened in Massachusetts also. What is wrong with them?

Have you tried Mears ? They are a very large transportation service in Orlando with all different size vehicles. My DD is also wheelchair dependent and we have used them without any issues. Good Luck as I know how challenging but rewarding travel can be.

Good Morning from a warm and sunny day at the beach Thunderstorms came in out of nowhere yesterday. Didnt last long but it sure did clear the beach except for a few fools who think a metal canopy will protect them. Not sure if we will have a repeat today. Meal selection looks good. Never been to todays port. My sister takes care of my parents and brothers grave. She does a beautiful job. She placed the flowers and new military flags (Army for Dad, AF for my brother) on the grave yesterday morning and someone stole them! Cant believe it. How low can you go? So she and her DH are going back today and are going to plant them deep in the ground. This has never happened before. It is really disgusting what some people will do. DD and I are going in the pool this AM in case the rain comes back. Stay safe and enjoy today Charlene

Good Afternoon from a warm and sunny day at the beach Havent posted much this week, been very busy. Also had a shingle shot that kicked my butt. I was surprised as I never react to anything and am never sick. But I know enough people that have had shingles and the problems it brings. So I will get the 2nd one when it is time. I always brought my lunch to work. It was better and so much cheaper. I really try to limit my use of plastics but it is everywhere! I did the early payment option for the 25 WC. So we are paid and I am so excited! Never ever thought that we would do a World Cruise. Much planning to do. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Stay safe and enjoy today Charlene

Good Morning from a cloudy and warm day at the beach Some crazy thunder storms came in late yesterday. People stayed on the beach under canopies. Not smart or safe. The big races are today and already the beach is filling up. We stopped at Conflict Islands in 2022. It was a substitute port. Didnt know what to expect. No one lives there. DH and I decided to check it out. It was like Gilligan`s Island ! The water was clear and warm. Lots of palm trees on the beach. Walked a long sandy path from the tender. We went back to the ship and put on bathing suits. Beautiful. No infrastructure. Bathrooms were Very basic. We didnt take pictures but I would love to go there again. Have a wonderful Sunday. It has been on our local news constantly about the growth in Port Canaveral. They are "fast tracking" a new terminal to be ready in several months. Another one will take longer because the current Marina has to be moved. A new garage will be ready this summer. There are currently 11 hotels in a 2 block area. Lucky for me I am 7 miles south of there. Sad for me is no HAL ship yet!

The blueberry almond tart sounds really good. May have to try it. Never been to todays port. Very busy weekend here in Cocoa Beach. The boat races are this weekend. There is a parade of all the boats this afternoon coming down A1A. They will be all lined up downtown tonite which is also Friday Fest. Tomorrow are the trials and Sunday the races. Throw in a launch tonite and the usual cruise traffic and it will be bedlam! Going out early this AM to stock up for the weekend. Then staying put! Stay safe and enjoy today Charlene

I dont have a link. It was a conversation. Someone had said they did not receive the fees from the cruise line . So I just wanted to make sure my original thoughts were correct.

I always thought that port fees and taxes were refundable. I heard yesterday that this may no longer be true. Does anyone have any experience with this? Questioning due to calculating the total cost for insurance. Thanks!

Debbie, 3 feet is way to shallow for water aerobics. The theory is it is suppose to add resistance. You will not get that if the water is not deep enough.You will put too much pressure on your joints. Maybe others will complain also. Some of my classes are in “ deep water” ( can’t touch) I hope they can come to a solution . Water aerobics is a wonderful effective exercise.
