  1. Sorry, I don't have a cruise booked at the moment, and I can't recall exactly how to get to it. If it has been assigned it will show up in the calendar view of your cruise. Once you are signed in, IIRC, look for an Itinerary link, you should see a calendar page with your various ports showing, and your hotel should be there as well.

I am also curious l about hotel assignments. We had booked a cruise for May, our hotel had assigned before we cancelled in December. There seemed to be a few different hotels being discussed in the roll call.

    We canceled last week.

We actually would have been very happy with the extension until March. We were sailing Monte Carlo to Southampton and then Southampton round trip. Two other couples were joining us on the second leg, and since their cruise is shorter and later than ours their payment was not due until this month I believe, but they also got the extension. They have some time now to consider their trip. C'est la vie.

  3. There are no Celebrity ships sailing with passengers in Europe at this time. September is a lifetime away, hopefully things will be much improved then. The Celebrity ships that sailed in Europe in 2021 did so before Omicron.

I am not sure of the terminology, but every Celebrity ship that is currently sailing under CDC guidelines has / had cases. The same is actually true for Princess.

Totally off topic, but we are firming up our travel plans to Canada for next September....3 nights at Patricia Lake Bungalows in Jasper and 4 nights in a VRBO in Canmore. Any suggestions on which Cruise Critic forum to ask advice about the Canadian Rockies? I don't like hijacking threads, but would love to know more.

You may have luck in TripAdvisor. It is my go-to site for travel planning.   https://www.tripadvisor.ca/ListForums-g153339-i49-Canada.html

Is anyone having trouble seeing Leg 1 and Leg 2 on the Celebrity website?  I can’t see them and I’m not sure why.

I can't see them though they were there yesterday. I captured the following info yesterday, price per person in $ CDN, for a Sky Suite. The disclaimer is 'average per person'.

    Oct 30 14 night 6,759

    Nov 13 12 nights 6,499

    Nov 25 14 nights  7,499

    Dec 9 12 nights  5,838

Had we not already done most of this itinerary, we would be very interested.

Kudos - any other line with similar exciting sailings anyone knows of???

A few years ago we wanted to do an extended sailing, to include Asia. We first looked at Celebrity, but they did not offer this kind of sailing back then, without repeated ports. You could sail from A to B, then there would be a loop of B back to B, then possibly a charter where you would have to disembark and rejoin the ship.

We ended up going with Regent, similar to this it was 4 legs B2B. The beginning was the same, Rome to Dubai to Singapore. Then we sailed to Hong Kong and then ended in Beijing. It was 63 nights, no repeat ports which was exactly what we were looking for. Regent tends to do this sort of schedule. One of the pluses on Regent is that excursions are included in the cost, as are international business class flights. We also had included 3 nights with tours in Beijing. Back then it worked out to be a bit more than Celebrity might have been but not overly so.

anyone has experienced a river cruise following an ocean cruise

Hi from the Okanagan.  Back in 2016 we did Viking Amsterdam to Budapest, followed by a TA on the Silhouette, Rome to Ft Lauderdale. We spent a few days in Budapest and then a few more in Rome before the TA. In 2019 we did a TA on Regent to Barcelona and then flew to Paris for a river cruise on Uniworld.

We love both types of cruising, and they do have some differences. I would say timing is more structured on the river cruise since most people take the included tours. For meals there is usually a window when breakfast and lunch are served. In our experience, there is a presentation by the cruise manager before supper every night that everyone usually attends in the lounge, then everyone goes to supper at the same time. The presentation goes over the timing for the activities the next day. Your itinerary will show where you will be on a specific day, but you typically don't see specific times in a 'port' as you would on an ocean cruise. Have you checked the river cruise forum? Ask away if you have any specific questions.

On the Infinity? Did you go to Butchart Gardens that day from Nanaimo? If so, I think we spoke to either you or the other couple that evening. It sounded quite harrowing to us.

Three years ago the couple in the suite next to us never made it back to the ship when we left Bermuda. Their butler (a very chatty fellow) had to pack everything up, security got their passports out of their safe and left them with the port. Forever curious  to know what happened to them.

  9. We have enjoyed many cruises on X. The answer to your questions might be 'it depends...' Our usual experience has been spring and fall cruises outside of school holidays, when there are less large groups or families and things are a bit 'quieter'.  If yours falls in this time frame, it would be a great experience.

For our cruise around South America over Christmas and New Year's, it was not quiet, and you would not find a cozy bar on the ship. It was a similar experience in July on a cruise to Bermuda. During that cruise it was crazy busy and noisy around the pool.

As an FYI, in my experience, any enforcement by X of the dress code only applies to the main dining room. Jeans are OK under both the Casual and Chic dress codes. Many people are quite casual throughout the ship otherwise. On our Bermuda cruise on a 'Chic night' I was seated next to a gentleman in the theatre, he was dressed in his best 'clam digger' shorts and a sleeveless tank top.

  10. We have sailed mostly in Aqua on Celebrity, we had a good deal the first time and we liked it especially for Blu so that became our standard. Like your comment about Celebrity suites, you have to chose your Aqua cabin carefully as they seem to put them in less desirable locations.

We also decided to try Regent, based on positive recommendations from friends, and a great itinerary that was 63 nights long, no repeat ports. It encompassed 4 separate legs and prices were adjusted since they each included the airfare. In addition, our cruise fare included 3 days in Beijing at the end of the cruise. There was little to complain about, we really enjoyed the smaller ship experience - 750 passengers on the Voyager. The only time you use your key card is to get into your cabin, or when getting on and off the ship. Excursions, wifi and tips are also included, so not a lot to spend money while onboard. Our TA sent us a cheque after final payment in lieu of onboard amenities for that reason. We had a deluxe veranda suite on Regent, which is their lowest category. The layout is like a bed-by-bath Celebrity veranda cabin, but larger, and with a walk in closet. They will provide bottles of liquor in your suite. They had a self serve laundry which was great on such a long cruise. They are now including laundry in their fares, suspect the self serve may not be available with possible covid restrictions when cruising returns.

After our Regent experience, we did a B2B on Celebrity in a Sky Suite. We liked the extra space in the suite. We enjoyed Luminae and Michael's. We also had a butler, that we did not have on Regent. We will cruise again on both Celebrity and Regent, depending on price and itinerary.

One thing that I like about Regent is that they enforce the dress code after 6 throughout the ship. Jeans and shorts are not permitted after 6, unless you are having supper at the pool grill. What we typically wore on Celebrity in the evenings was just fine on Regent, and we are not into gowns and tuxes.

So you get a card each time you participate in a game?

In my somewhat limited experience, not everyone who participates received points. If I recall it was more a case of top 3 teams or individuals received points. After a 2 week TA we had enough for 2 t-shirts, and donated a few leftover points to people behind us in the redemption line.
