Have been following this post since it's inception - and thoroughly enjoying it. Thanks all. Now I have a question - DH and I are booked in stateroom 7238 in March - the deck plan shows a gap between 7238 and 7240 starboard side and 7538 and 7540 port side (same gaps show on decks 6 and 8) - does anyone know what that is?

I bought 3 or 4 inch stencils and stenciled our initials all over our suitcases - very easy to spot in the terminal.

Seems to me that Michael's Club would make a good new restaurant for suite guests as it's very near other specialty restaurants… The MDR should have fewer passengers if/when suite passengers are all in specialty restaurants at no additional charge. The only time we've used Michael's Club was to wait for self-disembarking from the Eclipse.

Is it just me on my iPad, or is the type in this thread minuscule? Maybe this is a new cc feature in concert with celebrity aimed at young cruisers with better eyesight than me...
Funny but this thread is too wide for me - I have to scroll across and I'm using my laptop. Have seen a few others like this too

DH and I were on Celebrity Century to Hawaii in March 2012 and DH asked if a woman sitting nearby was "Gloria". I said I didn't think so. He saw her again the next day and asked the same question. I finally said to go ask her. He said: "Are you Gloria from Tyler, TX?" She said that no she wasn't Gloria but she was from Tyler and her name was Carol. Fast forward to March 2013, same ship, same itinerary; DH saw a woman and said: "Is that Gloria?". I looked up and said, no, that's Carol! We got to meet her husband while waiting for disembarkation. We haven't kept in touch but maybe we'll meet on another cruise.

I would love to see reasonably priced necessities: aspirin (or tylenol), bandaids, cough drops, sunscreen, cortisone cream, etc. etc.

Great coq au vin and chateaubriand in MDR on Hawaii trip last April. Hoped to get either or both on the Solstice, they had neither. Wonderful chocolate soufflé too.

I don't know the answer to your question - but wonder if you've actually paid for the flight and cruise. Seems like you could cancel the flight with no penalties if it hasn't been paid for. Maybe someone can clarify this too.

I'd tried many times to sign up for our Connections Party. I use a mac with Safari. This time when I tried to sign up I left my email address line blank. I filled it in when I was reminded to - and it worked!

Last week after embarking the Enchantment I received the dreaded naughty room letter on the door. I knew right away what they found. So down to deck 1 I go. So here I am standing with the other outcasts waiting my turn. :o
The guy sitting at the desk calls me up and with a puzzled look on his face asked me if I had a "Mixer". I could not help to laugh when he said that. Sure enough the bag said "Mixer" on it. I told him what they saw was my steamer which is allowed. They took it out of the bag and said "It's a steamer" and put it back in the bag. They also appologized for the inconvenience. Very professional. I told them that I guess I won't be mixing my own drinks. At least I got to see how the luggage is brought onto the ship and scanned. And yes they were snatching alot of alcohol.
Are steamers actually allowed on Royal Caribbean?

Just a little off topic. DH and I are booked on a TA in Oct, 2014 and plan to use Choice Air. When is the best time to book flights?

Where are your photos?
They're on my desktop :)
Sorry, I tried to post them - twice. Have never done any before, what am I doing wrong? I would appreciate any help.

Here are some photos taken last week on the Solstice. This cabin is not recommended on the Sticky Deck Plans, but we liked it. You can see the view of the ocean from the chair in the photo with the coffee cup on the table. The forward view is blocked but we didn't mind. It is a very large balcony and we'd book it again.

I pack a lightweight toothbrush holder that stands inside the medicine cabinet.
I keep a checklist on my computer - things to do before leaving home (stop mail and newspaper, feed birds, water flowers, etc.) and things to take on whatever trip - it can be changed for any trip. I print the list and keep it on the kitchen bar several days before leaving. I also put a box in the MBR closet - several weeks before our trips - to toss in small things that I don't want to forget to pack.
I also use plastic grocery bags to wrap shoes in to keep from soiling our clothes - one shoe per bag. The bags can slide into any small vacant space.
Have enjoyed reading all the other suggestions. Thanks

Why can't they give us good weather and smooth seas everyday? On our recent cruise home from Hawaii it was rainy, blustery and very rough seas. I was on the elevator the next day and an officer asked if we were enjoying our cruise - he actually apologized for the weather the previous day - I said: Ship happens...
