  1. First off thank you for the responses. My wife and I are both getting the AIBP and have no intentions on cheating the system. Its is just she asked me the question if there is a time limit between drinks I told her I will check on here. I tell her to get on C.C. herself and a lot of her questions could and would be answered. She only thinks the right answer(s) comes from the cruise line themselves (like the rep. on the other side of the phone is never wrong:eek:). I told her CC is people like us that cruise and can give first hand experiences on curtain subjects such as; Food, Cabins, AIBP ect. Again thank you for the responses I LOVE CC.:)

  2. I pretty much know the perks and details of the AIBP however when I get a drink is there a time limit in which I can order my next drink? I have read you just get a sticker on your sail card and they do not even scan your card. If this is true then they would not even be able to tell how long (if you went to another bar that is).

  3. Currently on the grand alaska cruise we had rain every day there. Leaving Victoria now with great weather. Hope it's good for the next group cruising

We cruised Alaska about 4yrs ago and when we were in Ketchikan we hit a very rare day......It did not rain:eek:.....We also went King Salmon fishing we caught nothing they said it was too nice of a day:confused:. In fact this trip was so nice that it actually was HOTT.

  4. I am so excited. Off to the Mexican Riviera again. First time on the Ruby. We just got back from the Grand and loved it!! What do I have to look forward to on the Ruby?

I'm not sure what you are into however my wife and I have booked for December 22nd Christmas Riviera cruise:D. I have noticed no one mentioned the 'Voice of The Ocean' if you can sing and don't have a problem getting in front of your peers.

  5. Some say no I say don't leave home without it. Better to have it and not need it then need it and not have. I know I have read this before. :)

    Tony

I agree with Tony, if you had asked me personally I would have told you "YES". and for the same reason as Tony "Better safe then sorry":D. Its not like you have to pay for it every time so if you travel a lot just get it. I believe it good for 10yrs and if not Its 5.

  6. I put two bags out in the Crown Princess hallway at dinner time as instructed with EZ Check bag tags firmly attached last Friday. The EZ Check bag tag said BBBB and some Princess reference numbers with no apparent airline routing information on the tag. One bag made it home with an added AA bag tag on the handle. One bag vanished.

    Princess says:

"I am very sorry you are having this experience, as it is undeniably a very frustrating. I have diligently been checking with all parties involved for the past 2 days to see what happened to your missing bag. I have spoken with the Seattle Ground Operators and the ship. I do have confirmation that both bags tags were printed and entered into the system initially, but only the one bag (belonging to your wife) was scanned at the terminal for check in to be transported to the airport. We are still researching the chain of events, and hopefully your bag will be recovered. We do have 10 business days from your day of disembark until we would officially state the bag is lost. Have you been in contact with American Airlines as well?

As stated in the Passage Contract, the maximum compensable amount for a loss of this nature is US $250.00 per bag. Thankfully you opted to add Princess Vacation Protection on your booking, which I believe the Platinum coverage limit is close to 3K.

I will keep you up to date with any new information I have received."

    Take the 3K:D Just saying!!

  7. And if only 1 person buys the plan they cannot "share" it with the other person

My wife and I both buy AIBP however if you have the AIBP and get a drink carry it away from where you got and then pass it on who would know? I know it is cheating the system and that is one thing that makes prices go up, but believe you me I'm sure people are doing it right as you read this.

  9. Does anyone know if Alfredo's Pizza is on the Ruby, or going to be on the Ruby by December 22nd:confused: Pam in CA that was not nice to tease me:mad: with that pic, you have my mouth watering over here....LoL:D. Pepperoni, Onions, and Black Olives for me....oh wait its included light green peppers also.

  10. If we have a large meet and greet (say over 100 people)on the pool deck before the sailaway asking for prices in every category and perks.we would have a riot on our hands when prices are given out.

    long cruiser.

    Well said!:D

My opinion is when you book your cruise they give you a price. You and only you decide if the price is right. If you live close to a cruise terminal you probably can get GREAT deals because you could book at the last minute. Whereas like myself I have to fly (we hate driving) and when you book a flight at the last minute $$$$. In summary everyone is trying to save a few pennies anyway they can, but as the old saying goes "sometimes you get the bear, and sometime the bear gets you."

  11. Cruising friends, this SO helpful! Thank you so much for the answers and advice given so far!

    Here's another question:

One of the biggest reasons we chose Princess is their smoking policy. I have asthma and am very sensitive to cigarette smoke, beyond just thinking it smells terrible. Our cabin is on the Aloha deck. There's no way smoke from smoking areas could infiltrate the hallways and our room, is there? I looked on the Crown deck maps, and found the casino and cigar lounge, but it doesn't show where the other smoking areas on the ship are found - and I'm really hoping there isn't one near our cabin.

I am going on my first Princess cruise (not first cruise) in December. I have read a lot on the Princess boards about everything I can:). One thing was about the smoking policy I believe these are the only places aboard the ship that you can smoke. Also if i am not mistaken the Aloha deck is deck 12 and the casino and cigar bar is on deck 6 (or at least on the Ruby). The likely hood of cigarette/cigar smoke making it to your room I would say is zero, zilch, none.:D Also I'm jealous I wish I could do my first cruise over:D

  12. My wife and I ALWAYS fly Delta. With that said we have never booked EZ-air and we have never had a problem with Delta changing our flight itinerary. We always get non-stop flights, not sure if that has something to do with it or if EZ-air is the issue. However if we ever use EZ-air we will have our guards up. Thanks for the post this is one of those issues I will put in the back of my head and try to remember, that is if my CRS disease is having a good day. Oh yeah in case you don't know CRS= Can't Remember $h!t:D.

  13. I'm not happy with Princess!

They refuse to honor the original price, and are only offering a choice of a free upgrade to Balcony, or $200 shipboard credit, at 5 1/2 times the original price. This is crazy.

OK here is what I say. If you get a crazy deal like this again I would book it if you can (wait on air fare). Then if they change the price (which you should expect) then you can call voice your opinion to them you are not happy, and maybe just maybe you will get a free upgrade or $200 OBC:). From there you can then decide if it is still worth your $$. Like the old saying "if it sound to good to be true then it probably is".

  14. Its called false advertising in my book and it happens more then you think:eek:. They (business) can make up a prices like the example above 6 cents instead of 69 cents. This price is so far off you have to know it is wrong and they do not have to honor that price, however people will come for those prices to find out that it was a "Mis-Print" (yeah right), and now that your there what are you going to do??? That's right your there now just go ahead and get it. Now some people will not fall for this and leave but there are those who will just say screw it and just get the item along with other items (Game, Set, and Match, they win).

  15. On our most recent cruise the occupants in a cabin upwind of us starting smoking before we left the dock and continued off and on for the duration. To make it worse they weren't smoking cigarettes. We did mention it to guest relations, since it was terrible for my daughters allergies, but said they didn't find any evidence of smoking. Not surprising since you wouldn't leave roaches around or your supply in the open.

    Must have been from Colorado.

Why must they have been from Colorado?? What were they smoking??

  16. Thanks to all that posted!:D My wife and I think after all the post between this board and the Celebrity boards it sounds like Celebrity may win:D sorry HAL fans. I think the most promising part was the smoking policies on Celebrity, for we are both NoN smokers. However I like the idea of mass on board.

  17. HAL cruisers will say HAL; Celebrity--Celebrity. Either one will do just fine. Have a great time.:)

This is why I have this post in both the Holland and Celebrity boards:D. I thought the same thing you did. However, Celebrity people will tell me what is better and then HAL people will do the same. I will get the best of both post.
