3 doors down from the District. My husband is super pumped to be so close to his favorite bar on the ship. Luckily, we are both super sound sleepers and are capable of falling asleep in the middle of a marching band stepping on a herd of cats' tails. -
Good to know! Our room on our Encore cruise is deck 8 forward, although not a s far forward as yours.

Out of curiosity, how is the Encore feeling with the 8 foot seas and their stabilizers? On the Breakaway, we barely felt the seas, and on the Carnival Liberty, we felt them quite a bit more.

I have been to JVD and it is a super relaxing beach day. The soggy dollar bar has some tasty drinks and the views from the beach are some of the most beautiful I have seen. Not sure about food options at JVD though.

We cruised with friends that were in the Haven on the Getaway a few years back. We would just call their room and they would just come out and escort us to their stateroom.

We have stayed at the Holiday Inn Port of Miami before, as well as the Hilton Miami Downtown. Both were nice and convenient to lots. This next trip, we are forgoing the cost of convenience of Bayside and staying next to the airport.

Check out the Sonesta next to the airport. We are booked there for the end of January. They have an airport shuttle and there are some food options right near there. They also have ZipCar at the hotel as well, in case you need to explore or drive to a store.

I hope you get to enjoy the foliage. It has been a much better year than I was expecting it to be because of the drought conditions we have seen throughout New England this year.

I have a feeling that it may not last terribly long but it makes me wonder if any of the other cruise lines will attempt something similar, It has been a good long while since my last cruise and ever longer since I was on NCL so I can't remember if they had the same level of hogging as Carnival seems to experience.

Hahaha Right? We don't even try for poolside chairs anymore. We gravitate towards being closer to the bar now anyways. Nice and shady and prime spot for people watching.

While I am sorry your itinerary changed, why not just roll with the punches and enjoy whatever destinations they came up with? Given the last couple years, I am just happy to be going on a cruise and getting some vitamin Sea. In any event, I hope things work out for you with what you are trying to achieve.

We booked the Sonesta by the airport in Miami. The price for 2 nights wasn't bad, they have a free airport shuttle and plenty of restaurants close by for our pre-cruise stay.
