  1. Firstly, I hoped the cruise line managed to sail. I like the thought of the passengers and crew singing, laughing, and shedding a few tears. Salty tears, with trace amounts of tequila.
  2. Being around happy, well-behaved kids is an uncommon treat, one could say a medium rare treat.

When we have worn =X= t-shirts that we've won in trivia games while out in public, sometimes on cruises with other lines, both my wife and I have had people strike up conversations with us about our Celebrity cruise experiences. There is an adage that a satisfied customer is the best advertisement, and since my first cruise with =X= in 2006, we have been that for Celebrity. In fact, the t-shirt I used for the photo in the initial post has made me a walking advertisement for Celebrity Cruise line. Unsanctioned and unpaid. Do the people managing this business not appreciate that their company is not fully and wholly quantified by numbers in a ledger?

  13. the penguins, an earlier riser myself, I often pick up a cuppa for the lady before returning to the cabin. On a cruise earlier this year, I soon became aware of a group of four men, all early risers themselves, who would sit and chat awhile in the buffet area before making their way back with tea or coffee for their respective ladies. A bit of casual camaraderie.

  15. A clever portmanteau. In this case, one of those words that seems to mean something, that strives to say more with less, yet somehow only manages to convey ....... what? Are Harry and The Meaghan royalbrities? Wouldn't you want to cruise with them? Quick doghog, trademark that word, before those two glory hounds do.
  16. Is it possible =X= is supplying a meal option to the customers they want to have, and not the ones they already have?
  17. We also agree with this assessment. The many dedicated employees, especially the staff and crew onboard the ships deserve better leadership.

Although we have really enjoyed three excellent cruises with Azamara, one with Celebrity, and one with Princess during the past 18 months, this past week we booked a cruise on the Oceania Vista for next summer. We made this choice even before the ill-advised and poorly handled Celebrity Cookie Caper. The next choice point will be when we have to make final payment for the March Caribbean cruise on the Beyond. At that point, or maybe before, depending on what other clever changes Celebrity decides to make to their product and services. We might not need that Wyndam reservation, after all.

  22. I had forgotten about this hotel, and just looked it up. We've stayed at places on Federal Highway before, and the area works well enough for us. I hope this property works well for you, hcat.

  24. Which isn't as bad as humdrum luxury With the current approach from Celebrity leadership, the lack of communication with it's customers, the odd choices, trying this and experimenting with that, one gets a whiff of ...... desperation luxury
