  1. Well I noticed that there are no 4 and 5 day cruises from Galveston after December 2016.

What I really want is a decent ship in Puerto Rico. It is my favorite place to cruise from, but I'm not sailing on the Fascination.

Totally agree, sailed out of San Juan 3 times on the Victory and Valor. Will not do that itinerary on a Fantasy Class ship.

  2.

Just received an email that my cruise which was planned and paid for 6 months ago has been butchered...Valor Dec 11th cruise is being cut short so they can move the boat to Texas ... Well i'm sure this was not a last minute plan on their part...if we were given proper notice i could have gotten a decent cabin on the RCL...My last cruise on carnival was bad and I tried to give them another chance but that's it....I will not book our

Family groups on a Carnival cruise again....I will not recommend them to anyone....they will only get bad press from me......meat loaf at dinner that looked and smelled like dog food and fish and chips that were frozen fish sticks was so Bad.....but this unforgivable

No they decided to just mess up your vacation.

  3. This may be a silly question and it just sort of came to me the other day. I was considering packing my Tervis cup for my cruise (those water and lemonade glasses are so tiny) in a couple of weeks and was wondering if there is any sort of rule against it or if it was just maybe frowned upon? Thanks in advance for any input!

We always bring a Tervis or Big Bubba type of mug. Never had an issue, I also use their glasses to get me ice and drink and bring back to the table to fill mine up.

  4. Am I correct that because my husband is still Gold, if I want to go to the VIFP party, I will have to go alone?

I am interested in stopping by - as it is my first cruise as Platinum - but it will lose all the fun if I have to sit there by myself....kinda stinks....Yes, I know he hasn't earned it, but it also defeats the perk for me, when we are traveling as a family and I am the only one to Platinum.

Anyone had an experience say at the door requesting that their spouse be allowed to join in? If it about the cost of the free drinks, I would have no issue being on our honor for him not to have one....

I was told no on the Legend and the Breeze that I could not bring a guest. Last cruise saw many kids with red cards come with Grandma or Auntie because they didn't want to go to Camp Carnival. One other person had their wife and kid take off their Gold S&S card and put it in their pocket.

But hey this is another rule not enforced just like the smoking on the balconies.

  5. I noticed that none of the Vista itineraries include Half Moon Cay. Is it too large, or is there another reason it doesn't visit the island?

We were told it is too large of a ship to effectively be able to run a tender operation to the island.

  6. Even flying a day early is not without issues. Our first flight to Charlotte NC had to divert due to fog in Charlotte, diverted to Tennessee to refuel. Sat on the ground until Charlotte reopened, so a normal 45 minute flight took 5 hours. Missed the connection to San Juan, had to make a latter flight. Our luggage did not arrive in San Juan until we were checking out of the hotel. We always go 1-2 days early now.

  7. We just settled on a cruise for next year with a small group (9 people, 4 rooms) and the majority vote went to an itinerary with 5 ports in 7 days. Somebody tell me this is actually a FUN thing to do??

My daughter keeps reminding me I don't even have to get off the ship at all of them, but I guarantee you if I have a chance to explore a new destination I'll definitely be off that ship!! :D

Leaving San Juan, it will be:

    - St. Thomas

    - Sea Day

    - Barbados

    - St. Lucia

    - St. Kitts

    - St. Maarten

    - Back to San Juan

How do you pace yourself on something like this? I've got a year to overthink it now - I'd like to know I'm just worrying for nothing.

We have done it 3 times, loved it. You will need a vacation at the end to recover, but it is an amazing itinerary.

  8. Love this itinerary. We did it three times, twice on the Victory and once on the Valor, they sailed at full capacity. I would love to do it again but will not as long as a smaller ship is doing it. We just did the Ecstasy and it was fine for a 5 night. But that route/homeport needs a larger ship.

  9. We are getting ready for our next cruise on the Breeze (me, DW & DD - 9-years-old). We sail Thanksgiving week, departing on November 20. We have always booked a 7 day cruise, all out of Galveston and always got a suite (I spoiled my wife on our first cruise by upgrading from a balcony to the Grand Suite on the Magic - now she doesn't want to book anything less than on Ocean Suite now). :D

This will be our fourth cruise together. On one of our previous cruises, we booked our next cruise to get the OBC. We are considering doing this again. We are also looking at the possibility of cruising out of a different port.

    So... here are my questions:

    • What do YOU think is more important: ports of call or the ship itself; and why?
    • Do you like to go on a different ship every time (if possible) or do you prefer something familiar?
    • If you have been on several Carnival Ships, which is your favorite and why?
    • What port in the Mexico, the Caribbean or the Bahamas is a "can't miss" in your opinion (and what specifically would you do there)?

I love the planning and research part of cruising almost as much as cruising itself. Thanks in advance for your advice and opinions.

I look for the Ports 4/5 night cruises ship doesn't matter. 6/7/8 Ship matters I like to be entertained if we are going to have multiple sea days.

Been on the Fantasy 3 times, Victory 2 times and next year will make twice for the Paradise. Loved the Breeze last year so booked the Magic for this year. Was disappointed when it was moved early as we booked the Journeys 12 nt cruise when they were going to move it from TX to FL in November, so since I wanted to cruise on the Magic, I moved the booking to December on the Magic.

Loved St Lucia, did an Island tour the first time we went, second and third times we did the Catamaran Cruise to the Pitons. It included a swimming/snorkeling stop that was nice, and all the rum punch you could drink after the swim. Would like to do the Southern Caribbean again, but will wait until Carnival hopefully puts the Victory or a Conquest class ship back. Like the Steakhouse option, and the Dive In movies on the 7 nights trips that the Fascination can't offer out of San Juan right now.

  10. Thank you for the reply,

I do understand the cruise is a cashless system, but I would like information about when cash would need to be put on the account and if at all.

I need an answer about if at the time of boarding I must put cash down at boarding or or can be this done later in cruise. There will not be much charged to the account. Thanks!

Miami last year and Charleston this year, they took cash from me at check in and immediately applied it to my account. No need to go to Guest Service or to the Kiosk on the ship to do it.
