  1. I really enjoy Don's Vacation. He posted a video today and it is not flattering to Princess. I am not "outraged" because it does not apply to me. But I am disappointed that Princess is definitely moving in the "wrong" direction with all of it's cuts. Hitting veterans is beyond low.
  2. I hope your 2 children are booked in your suite. Everyone, then, will have access to all of the suite perks. I spoke to the Loyalty and Events manager recently and she told me that her job will transition to onboard events only. But did mention that those in suites on Grand Class suites would be getting their own concierge in July (or was it June?); no suite lounge. Has anyone onboard a Grand Class ship experienced this new change?
  3. The Medallion locator is one of the best features of the app. Glad you are helicopter parents. You've taught him well (checking in on you...haha/tables have turned). Actually, while "at sea" there really is no where for him to go. Happy he has found some friends to hang out with. In today's world, technology will keep them close. BTW...I have several National Park Passports. Mostly because I would forget to bring them along and have to buy a new one. Don't have nearly the stamps Colt has, but I'm good with the West!
  4. Which ship? Length of cruise? Port intensive? Are you a "heavy" drinker? Do you have OBC? I have done Plus with a suite. That was overkill, but the rate was very reasonable at $40 and $50. I ended up giving away most of the mini bar. My next cruise is in a suite with Plus (@ $50). I will be doing my last cruise of the year in a suite. Being elite, I will get 2 mini-bars plus 2 bottles of water a day. @ $60 for plus...it isn't worth it to me. Premier is even more expensive (never considered going up that far). You will get one specialty dinner on the first night. Some have said that trying to claim the 2 that come with the Premier is difficult. Not suite perks; but included in Premier reserved seats in theater for production shows 2 additional dinners gym classes sundaes photos
  5. Thank you so very much for trying to ease my mind. @Steelers36 🚢 🛫 🛬 🚕 plus 🧳 🧳
  6. @Steelers36 The 1.5 hours came up as a pop up when I checked my new itinerary. I had to acknowledge before they would let me enter my folio, I have Global Entry. I will fill out the immigration form online. I will do my best. Not worried, since I will have a seat. Everyone rushing to get home will be on earlier flights. I'm good...I think...until...
  7. Yes, I do understand that this is not EZ AIr's fault. EZ Air has worked with my TA to make sure I get home. I am thankful for all the help this thread and EZ Air has done to ease my frustrations and anxieties. Air Canada (actually Jazz) cancelled the flight. It was just so complicated because so many were involved (United/Air Canada/Jazz regional airlines). Next dilemma....get to airport early and hope that I can do standby...or relax and take a post cruise/airport excursion????? Hmmmm.
  8. Thank you all for your support. Cruise Critic Ohana is the best. You got to keep a sense of humor, after all, I'm on a cruise first.
  9. Found this tonight on Princess.com. I hope this applies since I am dependent on EZ Air for my itinerary. You bet, I'm taking printed copies of all my changes, including the disclaimer of 1.5 hours. They booked it. Thankful it is after the cruise. I could not find any policy for EZ Air insurance. Even during the height of the pandemic and I was "stuck" in Honolulu for 6 months, it wasn't this bad on Hawaiian Airlines. Trip Delays Delayed flights and missed connections; they happen to the best of us. Here at Princess, we understand that some things are out of your control. That’s why Princess Vacation Protection may reimburse you up to $500 for expenses not arranged through Princess — such as hotels and meals — if you are delayed in getting to your trip or up to $1,500 if you are delayed getting home.* *The Trip Delay benefit is a maximum of $1,500 if you experience both pre-cruise and post-cruise delays.
  10. I just checked my personalizer. Low and behold, there is a disclaimer: recommended connecting time is 1.5 hours. THEY re-booked me with only 60 minutes. I do hope: 1. Maybe Air Canada will let us stand by for an earlier flight. 2. We can rush through gate to gate 3. If we don't make the flight, EZ AIr/Insurance will cover the overnight and next flight out. Any one ever miss a connections through EZ Air? I just don't understand why they picked such a tight connection when there are 3 other flights out earlier (all more expensive). I don't want to call. I don't want to touch these changes. Sigh....I think my international travel days are going to be far and few between after my next fall cruise.
  11. Knowing that you can do this (I have done this before) is one thing. Advertising how to do it on a social network is so NOT okay. This is so wrong in so many ways. I have reservations posting this link, but just had to let the community know that a "professional" should never advocate something like this. Say goodbye to this method once Princess gets a hold of this.
  12. Thank you for the link. My concern is: Do I have enough time to process through the kiosks with only an hour (to get off the plane, immigrations, get back on the plane)?
  13. UPDATE: I have one fantastic Travel Agent. She has been on top of this flight change/cancellation. NOT her job. Travel Agents are not responsible for EZ Air bookings. She did this strictly as a favor for me, even though I asked her not to spend hours on the phone to get a resolution. I received a call from her. She had 10 minutes to get an okay from me and then call my travel mate for an agreement. I told her that I was fine with anything. EZ AIr/Air Canada made an offer. Late in the afternoon. Fine. One hour connection in Montreal. Their rules if I don't make it, their problem Direct flight from Montreal to LAX. Arriving late evening. This was all they could offer. If I did not accept, I don't know what else could have been done. I accepted. Travel mate accepted. Now to enjoy my cruise. Glad I have a flight home. Extremely thankful that I have a Travel Agent who looks out for my best interest. Everyone should be so fortunate. Is this the end of the story? I sure hope so. Please Air Canada, do not make any more changes. Last question for anyone who has done this before... Will I have to clear customs in Montreal or LAX? Will I have enough time?
  14. The Diamond Princess had Japanese Yen. You could only "exchange" yen for yen. They were able to break up my larger currency to slightly smaller (10,000 yen to 1,000 yen). No major exchange. I was also able to "exchange" off the ship for smaller use for the bus, etc with a person at each port. I would not count on using the ship for retrieving currency. I bought my Yen in Honolulu when the Japanese started returning to the islands. All the ports in Japan had an ATM. There was always a long line. Or use your credit card at an ATM at the airport (I did that in Canada). You really won't need much. I survived with much too much left over because I used my credit card at most places.
  15. Our Rock Opera happened on our first Sea Day (formal night). During our Meet and Greet, the ED had mentioned that they would have to juggle entertainers around. I think the lead was a tenor? He was jumping from ship to ship. That's why our production show was early in the cruise.
  16. My cabin mate hated the closet light. It turned off before she could find things. It turned on when she didn't want it. Steward understood and "fixed" it. Those small pillows work well to stop the night stand lights...if you can find them. For the life of me, I couldn't find them in the cabin after the turn down service. I also didn't ask. Just blue taped them. Left the blue tape for the next passengers. I sure hope they appreciated my efforts. I'm wondering what percentage of passengers are for/against? Anybody with an educated guess?
  17. I'm sorry this was so stressful for you. I hope you will be able to recover your flight fares. Many airlines are now allowing no change fees. I don't know if this will apply if you miss your flight verses cancelled and take an e-credit before departure.
  18. You can always hedge your bet by standing around until they open up the reserved Premium Beverage Package seats (House left) and beeline it for the remaining seats. Not the best seats in the house, in my opinion.
  19. Okay, how will this work? Say there are two unrelated passengers in one cabin. Say that only one Shareholder OBC that is not combinable with other OBC. Does that mean that I can now have Shareholder OBC and unrelated traveling mate with a different CC account number, different last name, and different address CAN NOW apply of shareholder OBC?
  20. Fat arthritic fingers and not fully awake. Should be $700 (not $790) that will be passed on to the passenger.
  21. Your best bet is to catch up with the ship in Ketchikan. This will be very expensive since you have no insurance. Last minute flight to a very secluded city Violation of PVSA ($790) since you will board in Alaska and disembark in San Francisco. Good Luck
  22. Only problem for me is that I can’t reach that light to remove during the day. OHSA not happy with me climbing on a chair while the ship is rocking and rolling.
  23. Rock Opera is a production show on several Princess cruises across the fleet. It will be offered on one day with 2 shows that night. Night will vary depending on Entertainment Director scheduling. Seating availability will be dependent on which ship you are sailing on. The bigger the ship (Royal Class ship), the more difficult it will be to get a seat. Princess Theater capacity was not increase with the building of bigger ships.
