  1. The bartenders and servers are wonderful! They will do whatever they have to in order to make you happy. Let them know that you have the Classic package and what you want and it will almost certainly be done. No additional charges as long as you stay within the package. We've had no trouble at all finding plenty to enjoy within the package. The sommeliers are the same. They are eager to keep passengers happy. I do keep an eye on our tab on the cabin TV as we have often been charged for something that either we did not order or should have been included. It has always been corrected immediately once brought to the attention of guest services.

  2. Our personal choice is to be on the starboard side just in case there are a lot of smokers. The smoking areas on deck 5 and on the pool deck are on the port side. As the others have said, you never know what side of the ship will be facing the dock once you are docked but things like sailing out of San Juan, the starboard side gets a nice view of the fort/castle. Honestly, the best cabins are the ones on the ship.......

I second this. Most people report that the smoke is not an issue however, I would be extremely upset if I was unable to use my balcony due to smoke drifting up from deck 5. Nobody's fault of course, so I just do my best to avoid it altogether. For that reason, I always book starboard. If smoke is not an issue for you then it is true, any unobstructed cabin is a good cabin, especially on the Eclipse! One of our favourite cruises ever, and we haven't had a bad one yet!! Enjoy!!

  3. At the end of the cruise, assuming there's any OBC left, is it possible to get it back in USD cash rather than have it refunded to my credit card? I know it can be done on HAL and RCI, but I'm not sure about Celebrity.

OBC-R will be refunded to your credit card in US funds. It cannot be received in cash unless you go to the casino and withdraw it. There you will be charged 5%. OBC-N will not be refunded. You will lose it if you do not use it. However, non refundable OBC is always used up first if you have both.

  4. I have done 8 sea days in a row and loved it! I was traveling with my elderly parents and we all slept in every morning, enjoyed watching an Officers vs guests basketball game, attended lectures, ate and drank to our hearts' content, watched the waves go by, played bingo and trivia, watched a movie, read, went to daily bible studies, ate some more and then did it all over again. It was the most relaxing time we have ever spent together and I cherish every memory. Enjoy!!

  5. Thank you for this info. It nullifies what the Celebrity rep told our TA about it being new bookings only as of June 2015. She is going for round 2 with Celebrity tomorrow. Wish us luck. Any discount is a bonus. :D

Just an update for anyone who is interested. Our TA called back today and spoke with another rep. She was told that because the second leg of our B2B is a group booking, we do not qualify for the discount. The group booking saved us on the cruise fare plus added $75 OBC. Otherwise, we would have qualified so it never hurts to ask.

Thanks to all those who posted on what to expect on turnaround day. We are hoping for a relaxing day on the ship and not too long a wait while the ship zeroes out and Immigration does their thing.

  6. Ours was booked in October of 2014. There are usually few if any discounts on a TA cruise. Received $100 off the total invoice of about $6500. Not very significant. We booked both together and directly with a TA. Had a 3 way discussion about another problem with Celebrity on the line and Celebrity said there was a discount available. Was it just for TA cruises combined with another? No idea.

  7. Yes on the additional discount. We booked three cruises B2B2B all for next year. first one is 13 day, received additional 100 off, next is 9 days, received 50 off, and last is 12 day and received 100 off. I did not know that we were going to get that, showed up on my receipt as YDR7-B2B Savings. First cruise is out of Fort Lauderdale, transatlantic to London, second Norway, third is Baltic.

And to answer the original question - There is an available discount of $100 per cabin for B2B but you need to ask. The only other thing we could add is we received a coupon for an additional bag of laundry - free and a great lunch with the officers in the MDR. Had about 150 on our cruise.

As to boarding and reboarding - you do need a new photo taken to get your new ID card for second cruise.

Our last B2B change was in Rome. There we had NOBODY from Italy to check us either on or off the ship and Celebrity just waved us on like any other day with our new ship pass.

Can you tell me when these cruises were booked please? My TA called today and was told that the discount is only as of June 2015 and we would have to cancel and rebook at today's much higher cruise fare in order to qualify. Obviously we are not going to do that.

  8. Yes there were Coca Cola products. The club soda was Canada Dry and so was the ginger ale.

I believe the OP has the beverage package. It would be a waste to have the package and then bring on your own soft drinks. Jmo

The ginger ale I got on both previous cruises was definitely not Canada Dry. I believe it was Seagrams but I could be mistaken. When I ordered a Coke, I got one. When I ordered ginger ale, I got something undrinkable. I love Canada Dry so I absolutely know that was not what I got. Like on the Premium package, does one need to specify which brand of soft drink one wishes?

  9. I agree with the above posters that unopened cans are available at any bar. I never had an issue getting one. I must say, however, that I found the brand of ginger ale used on board was undrinkable. I have never experienced it before but found it the same on our Century and Eclipse cruises. I'll stick to Club Soda (my new vice) on my next cruise.

  10. Okay, so here's my 2 cents' worth:

Carnival is fine. I've done 3 cruises with them. They have all been family cruises and I have no complaints. Food was good, service was good, ships were fine.

Celebrity is wonderful. The vibe is awesome! Although others have complained, we've never had a problem finding somewhere to dance in the evenings. We are not ballroom dancers and like lively, preferrably 70's music but will dance to almost anything with a beat. This year on the Eclipse, the choice of live music was great. Many venues were open simultaneously so you had a choice.

The crowd on Celebrity is a bit older than on Carnival however, most are young at heart and fun to be around.

The cost, at almost double, is the only thing that would bother me. You don't say that you have drinks included on Carnival (highly unlikely but not sure if you are comparing apples to apples). The drinks can add up quickly as you know and gratuities and OBC included certainly adds to the value. We love having the Classic drink package on Celebrity. We have only once been refused a drink on it (a fancy martini from the martini bar) and now know to only order appletinis there. Other than that, it completely satisfies any craving we have, even double shots for during the evening entertainment.

I would vote for Celebrity. Enjoy your cruise no matter what you decide.

  11. Just to confirm...on Celebrity, you may apply cruiseline-provided OBC toward the gratuities? We've never sailed with Celebrity before, but are considering a Med cruise on Reflection next summer. On NCL you are not able to apply OBC that NCL gives you toward the gratuities. Sounds like Celebrity has a more user-friendly policy. :) Thanks!

Yes. OBC can be used for gratuities on Celebrity. Enjoy your cruise!

  12. Simply stated - NO. Your B2B is on your statement and your will be offered a lovely special lunch with the officers and staff. $100 reduction should be already there. All instructions delivered to your room a day ahead.

Brits do not necessarily get the same $100 as US residents-have done B2B twice and not received it

We are Canadian and have not heard of the $100 deduction. How do we go about looking into it? Do we just call Celebrity? Have booked through a TA. Must she call? Sorry for all the questions. It's our first B2B.
