  1. Yeah....not sure if it's the time of day, a holiday weekend (U.S. Memorial Day), or something else. I tried it with Safari, Firefox, Chrome..same issues. Maybe I need to clear my cache more often. I don't know. It just seems there are glitches no matter what I use...and for quite some time. But, you're right. 3 weeks we'll be on board. I've been to Bermuda, but it's been at least 10 years. I don't think it's changed much. But, loved it then. I'm sure I'll love it, now. It's easy to get around. I think aside from an island tour, I'll be pretty much touring by wandering, which is what I really love doing. I THINK I have my mental list down as to what I need to do and what I'm bringing. But, as much as I've cruised, I always forget something. LOL! Getting excited, now!!!!1
  2. I got my renewed passport late last year in about 9 weeks. I could have driven to Chicago, the nearest office, and got it in 4 weeks, but that was much costlier.
  3. I'm a pretty laid back person....at least I think so. 😉 Out of all the changes, all of the the cruise lines have been making, you would think they'd want to make their guest interfacing with their WEB site to be easy and seamless. As a frequent NCL guest, it befuddles me how difficult and glitchy NCL's WEB site is to use. Just as a quick example, checking in, the WEB site asked me to add my phone number. Of course, it would be way TOO easy to just type it in (which apparently, the WEB site won't allow me to do). I had to type out my phone number on a blank word document, then do a "cut and paste" into the area where they needed me to enter my phone number. There was no other way I tried to make it work. And, unless you enter your phone number, it won't allow you to complete check in. This happens every single time I check in. Have let NCL know (via email). On top of all that, I don't know that their WEB site could possibly get any slower...probably the slowest I've used for ANY company I interfaced with in ANY industry. Just frustrating. I feel like this is their IT department......

  6. Haven't looked recently, but last time I did, Viking was WAY more expensive than NCL. I think that's why things like room service is included. That said, I'd probably tip for room service anyway...even on Viking!
  7. So, just saw the change in itinerary for this sailing. It is practically the entire sailing that has changed. The reasons given is filled with double talk and gobble-de-gook. I think cancelling for a full refund, regardless of what excuses given, is totally justified. I understand weather issues. This ain't that. NCL materially and dramatically changed this cruise for no good reason that I can ascertain. And, for all intents and purposes, it's a different cruise. The only commonality is it's sailing in Europe. That's it! It's just around the corner. I'm just wondering if there's a way to get this to a small claims court that quickly? There's not a judge or magistrate that would consider this acceptable, even with the contract wording. IF not, I would certainly talk to my charge card company to step in for me. This is just taking advantage of the guests because they can, all for the sake of squeezing more $$$$$ out of this cruise. No other reason!
  8. RE: NCL Concierge Gave the concierge phone number to a cruise friend who was looking to make reservations. But, she was staying in a Balcony cabin. The phone agent asked her for the reservation number. Once she gave the info, the agent gave her another number to call and said the Concierge Desk number was only for Haven and Suites. The question is what level of Suite would qualify. Would a Club Balcony Suite qualify since it's really just a balcony cabin with a bigger bathroom? That's just one example. I don't have an answer.
  9. Oh...I know some people who dine ONLY in the buffet. I'm not one of them. But, they love it. They like the idea of having an aisle for individual food types (salad, protein, veggies, etc). If it works, it works. Had mentioned the Prima's (and Viva's) Indulge Food Hall. It's kind of the best of both worlds, which is why I like it. You can sit anywhere and order from the different food stations, where you can stroll by to see the chefs prepare the different choices, and have it brought to you.
  10. Same here. I might go to the buffet for a quick breakfast or lunch (but I even try to avoid that given the number of people who are clogging up the serving areas and aisle-ways). Trying to remember, but I don't recall ever going to the buffet for dinner. The MDRs offer good, well prepared food with a nice selection. I would imagine dinner in the buffet wouldn't be as hectic as it is during breakfast or lunch. Might be wrong on that count, though. That said, on the Prima, I actually had dinner at Indulge. I ordered a few very disparate dishes that were all quite good and served quickly.
  11. Off topic, but I really like your new icon for your posts.
  12. Hurricane season is always a crap shoot if you're cruising around Bermuda, Caribbean, Mexico. The fares are generally less (but not always) for that very reason. I book During hurricane season all the time just because; the fares tend to be less. But, I've also experienced missed ports, rough seas, late embarkations and disembarkations, among on things. Knowing that going in, and given you recognize those possibilities, you won't be surprised. As far as refunds, you will be refunded the ports fees of the port you missed. If you think you may want to cancel, get insurance that allows you to cancel for any reason.
  13. Had AD's nachos and cheeseburger. Both were good. Not something I'd make a special effort to dine, though.
  14. This is the menu for American Diner......at least the last one I saw....no prices (except for shakes) so they had already made it part of the free dining options.... 15. ^^^^^^^^^ Have said the same over and over. It's not the cost of a single package or perk, it's the cost of the entire cruise that matters. Fares will sometimes lure you to look at a cruise line (although, Royal seems to have high fares recently). But, when you add up the cost of the drink packages, specialty dining, etc, the out of pocket usually shifts. NCL's Free at Sea packages are usually less expensive than all the others out there since you only pay for their gratuities. You're NCL example is $345 for drinks and specialty dining. Royal's is ~$1,000 for the same. So, their total out of pocket is higher than NCL's, even with NCL's higher fare. Matter of fact, for $1,000 more than Royal's Balcony cabin with drinks, I can book the Haven with Free at Sea on NCL if I shop a bit.
  16. I concur. She's excellent. It always seemed she couldn't do enough for us when we had her as our Concierge. I didn't know she was still around. Glad to see she is.
  17. I only ate at the American Diner because it was free for Haven guests, but only on embarkation day. I think I did that twice. Was it good? Yeah....similar to Johnny Rockets on Royal. Typical fare, too....burgers, fries, nachos, etc. Would I go out of my way to dine there, again. Nope.
  18. That‘s a great ship and itinerary. Just looked up a balcony fare and Free at sea. About $350 for 2 for tips on SDP and drinks. Or, about 10% of the fare. Good deal on a great cruise! It will cost 2X for just drinks on Royal!
  19. Just curious, which ship, date and itinerary were you looking at?
  20. Service charges are for the waitstaff in the MDRs, Buffet, room stewards, etc. If you order a drink without the Free at Sea package, you will be changed individual tips for individual alcoholic drinks and sodas. The Free at Sea alcohol, sodas, etc tips are for exactly that...free. Tips are not. It's based on the cost of the package, or 20% of the package cost. So, the package is free. The tips are added to it. Either way you look at it, if you like sodas, beer, wine, liquor, and you plan on drinking 2 or more a day of any of them, you'll generally be way ahead with Free at Sea, which also includes some internet, a $50 excursion credit and Specialty Dining (add tips for those, too).
  21. You can print your luggage tags from your own printer once your eDocs are available to download. If you have a Haven cabin, you will get a welcome letter and luggage tags sent to you roughly a month before your sail date. Or, you can just take your luggage to the porters at the pier and they will make a luggage page for you when you present your ticket.
  22. Actually, it's now free for everyone. So, everyone gets the perk, now.
