  1. On summit right now. First cruise with celebrity so i do not get all the elite, aqua, michaels club...etc... perks. This is a fyi for all others. My cruise is 7 days. It is $20 a day or $140 for the cruise for unlimited internet. If you want to sign your cabin mate up they are running a special for 50% off. It is for both my husband and i $210. Speed is great. You can stream, watch netflix apparently per advertisement. I don't know what other ships are doing. This post pertains to the summit.

  2. Unfortunately he had to cancel because another group from my ship poached him for 6 hours and he'd make more money. Understandable it's a business and i told him i appreciated his honesty in letting me know. It's the last time i post my excursions on my roll call though and on the island sites until I'm done the tour.

  3. thank you so much for getting back. We will see Vincent on 4/12/16. We are only using him from 1p to 4pm and are going to St pierre, waterfall and a beach. Do you know the name of the beach you went to? He has been so great to correspond to especially since he really had to customize with us for 3 hours.

  4. I was on the Summit on the last cruise pre-dry dock. I needed to work so I bought the unlimited package- $200 but we got 25% off for being Select members. Thankfully our OBC covered it.

They don't have the new "fast' internet but there were only a few times that I found the internet to be slow. I was impressed, since the last time I sailed it could take 15 minutes to do something easy like check in for a flight.

I was downloading a lot of PDFs and images and it worked fine. I didn't try streaming video though.

so glad to hear this. My husband and I really need it to keep in touch with family members and of course, work. Of course it doesn't compare to my ludicrous speed internet at home but hopefully it is better than the dial in days

  5. We are doing this also and i plan on a light non fiber breakfast :) and bringing cereal boxes from ship in zip lock bags. Or saltines from soup station. Imo whatever you personally like in a zip lock bag. Unless you need to take medication with food or are a insulin dependant diabetic, i would not worry about lunch.

  6. Regarding the 22% confusion. When i did the math it was 22%. I was told 15%. THEY added the extra amount. It irked me because of the service. The man assisting me was very rude. Others may have had a different experience. I don't think it was worth it. I've had a better experience at wildwood and the rest of the jersey shore. Yes, I'm from jersey and it is not a criticism of Jersey shore.

  7. I was the one who posted this regarding tipping. We did not order any extra food. We ended up not even using all of the drink coupons. We got our drinks ourselves although our waiter did bring the first set of drinks. I don't enjoy tipping 22% when there was very little service. I would have stuck with 15% for putting chairs up (which my husband helped with ) and giving us one set of drinks. If he had done his job, I would have probably tipped him 30 plus percent. Maybe you may be luckier; some people were. I did let them know I was not pleased when I paid the bill and in an email to them afterwards. I did address 2x during the day the fact that my server was non existent and it was not crowded. We were the only family there with the pass. There is so much to do in San Juan that is less expensive. If I would do it again, Id pay the cab fare and go to another better beach or stick with old san juan and forego the beach that port stop.

  8. I would take the ferry to st john OR arrange for a rental car and drive around island visiting the beaches. I have been there traveling with a large family (5 and at one point, 6 of us) and I found simply driving around and hitting a couple of beaches is a fun day for the family. We did that in st thomas back in 2010 and had a great time. My husband and I are taking the ferry over to st john in april and renting a car in October when we visit st thomas again. I tried to get a decent uncrowded snorkeling trip but the prices were just not in my ballpark. One offered 6 hours for $875 in which I politely emailed them that my 6 day cruise was cheaper for the 2 of us :D. Good luck and have fun.

  9. Why doesn't he want to swim with fish? This puzzles me. As a mother of 5, i really wouldn't stress too much. 99x out of 100, parents over think and kids are fine. I've been a peds nurse and school nurse for over 20 yrs and you'd be amazed how kids like to enjoy themselves. But I'd also suggest that you NOT make a big deal out of your child's reaction. I'd be more worried if they couldn't swim. And adults have more problems getting out of the ocean than do kids.

  10. With a lot of the tours listed on tr. Adv. Website, I went into companies website, translated into English, then sent an email in french using a Google translate English into french. I asked the tour operator if the guides spoke English since my french is not the greatest. I had more responses then I expected. It worked for me but it is time consuming. I have used a Google translate app at work on my phone to communicate with Spanish speaking people and it is helpful.

  11. When is your trip? Also ask your cruiseline and reconfirm once on board. If there are changes, email bob. He will know from the port schedule that day if any changes. We had a problem last fall with ship changing clock back to reflect daylight savings time which has never happened before. We left on 10/31, clocks went back on nov 1. I emailed bob and let him know. Don't count on him though to make sure. You have to do your research with the cruise ship.

  12. I really liked it there that day. We will be back in st kitts in april; however, we have decided to climb Mt. Liamuga (sp) with Poinciana tours. It was on my bucket list last time but the teenagers were not happy about climbing 4 to 5 hours up and down a volcano :D. Very easy to get cabs there and the front desk will call a cab for you.
