  1. Having done a few roundtrip TAs on QM2 at differing times of the year they are always very popular with people from all over the world. Iconic way of travelling transatlantic and can see QM2 lasting for a good few years yet. Nobody knows what need there will be for a cruise ship or liner and is anyone's guess what will be built in the future.
  2. Don't see how it is worth the mother just put the bottles in hand luggage and carry them onboard.
  3. Certainly wouldn't put any bottles in checked luggage how the suitcases get thrown about. If it breaks could make a mess of clothes and ruin holiday. Always put in hand luggage and carry them onboard myself.
  4. They hadn't been fixed in May.
  5. But at £3000 for a 12 nt British Isles cruise in a balcony with Princess Plus in May 2025 is by no means cheap. Having done 5 BI cruises in the past this is very expensive and cannot imagine that price ever going any higher only lower. If it doesn't the ship will sail half empty.
  6. Personally think all holiday companies whether cruise or land based would like see the demise of late deals. In their nature they are usually unsold accomodation that has not sold and are sold cheaper because anything is better than no sale at all. Unfortunately this in reality is never going to happen and cannot see ships sailing with empty cabins rather than offer cheap deals and don't think ships will be sold out that far in advance.
  7. The only problem is having in previous years booked late deals with Princess, especially British Isles cruises. Although the news about Princess pricing being correct, as read over a number of outlets, pricing currently for 2025 IMO isn't cheap. A 12 nt British Isles cruise in May 2025 with Princess Plus in a balcony is currently £3000 and to me that is not cheap.
  8. There is very little, if any at all, difference in the staterooms of Britannia and Club.
  9. It is an excellent product it is just like going to cinema in multi screen at home instead of showing films in theatre like they normally do.
  10. Yes we were disappointed on our cruise 3-17 Sept that majority of films were all children based even though there was only 126 children onboard. The films that they did show we had already seen on Iona. Overall impressions was that we preferred Iona.
  11. Yes we have used them in the past. Just a bit concerned after seeing a few reviews where they have parked cars in a different place than they say on their website. E-mailed them a few weeks ago to ask where they store cars and have not responded which increases my concerns.
  12. Didn't realise that cruise wasn't on sale yet. After tomorrow she will be able to book a cabin with Select Fare and choose her cabin number and have a choice of OBC, free parking or coach travel. She will be able to do this online or IMO phone a dedicated cruise TA and they will give you more advice and might be cheaper than booking online.
  13. If she has booked a Select Fare she will have been able to choose her cabin when she booked. Don't understand how she can only book a guarantee this far in advance. Only option because she was offered a guarantee was it at a cheaper price.
  14. Never stayed in hotel and left my car for the duration of cruise at hotel. Anyone have any recommendations and is the car left in general hotel car park or in a more secure area. Priced up CPS for July and want £243 for 14nts so instead of staying at HIE and using CPS looking at hotel with included parking. Many thanks in advance.
  15. We had no issues with the amount or quality of food in Britannia on QM2 inay on our roundtrip TA. The service was not as good as previous cruises and they certainly couldn't get a grip on Freedom dining and was often frantic. On occasions told to go away and come back later because restaurant was full even after pre booking on the app earlier.
  16. Never had a survey after a cruise on Cunard for many years.
  17. Olive Grove and Glass House are not bookable pre cruise.
  18. I have got a watch given by P&O when on Aurora but don't know when it was given and never worn it. Also given a P&O umbrella on one of Aurora's 4 maiden cruises (don't ask 😂) when we booked an excursion. was told Bergen was famous for rain and we would need it.
  19. I found it curious that after initial introduction on day we embarked on Iona in March we never saw our steward again until the morning of disembarkation. He was never around in the morning when we left cabin and had always been cleaned when we returned later during the day. On the final morning he appeared and asked if everything had been OK. Call me cynical but think it was planned for a reason 😉.
  20. It has gone full circle because many are now tipping in envelopes for nothing more than normal service having already paid tips in cruise fare. So in effect some are paying tips twice so I bet the staff and P&O are jumping for joy.
  21. We must have been lucky having done a number of roundtrip TAs and have always got off first thing when others self disembark and have gone through customs in a master of minutes. On more than one occasion we have caught NY Ferry and been in Wall Street for 7-30am to 8am.
  22. We were on QM2 roundtrip TA in May this year and everyone had to disembark the ship and go through immigration. What Cunard told you is incorrect, they ask you when you are embark at Southampton if you have a current ESTA. The cost of an ESTA is $21 per person and make sure you purchase one from official US government website.
