  1. You don't go for the meat and cheese platter as an appetizer. I do on both Giovanni and Jamie and always ask for extra Parmigiano Reggiano cheese and prosciutto.😁
  2. That's a reasonable price. For my Easter Anthem sail they are going at around $165.
  3. You mean that you can actually hear and understand what the Captain is saying over the loudspeakers. It's bad if you are sitting by the pool area. It's frustrating as one can't discern what is being announced. However, when there an announcement by the Cruise Director or some of his staff announcing Bingo, sales in the promenade, etc., it comes across quite clearly.🤣
  4. What about kids. Any notifications on their exclusions.
  5. Then you really will see the crowds return to the DL/CL and get unlimited drinks.
  6. Funny, on one of Royal Facebook groups, an individual had a cabana reserved and was looking for others to join them to share in the cost. Some in the group were interested and asked for a $ cost. Totally forgot until this cabana cost topic came up, and don't know whether any deals were struck. Something to consider.
  7. The only OBCs that should appear in the cruise planner are any given by Royal. For instance, my cruise planner shows on bord booking and shareholder's' OBCs.
  8. Plus, there's Lox and other meats and cheeses. It's mini WJ without the noise and the hassle of finding a table. As you mentioned, the coffee machine is a big +. I enjoy multiple decaf cappuccinos.
  9. Again, it's personal choice. As a D+ (340+), I'm not much of a hard stuff drinker and enjoy a daily Miami Vice drink. In addition, a couple of beers while by the pool and diet cokes for the rest of the day. I get 2 bottles of wine and a bottle of champagne. As there isn't any card attached, I believe the champagne is from the Casino. Since I sail mostly from Bayonne, I wrap my bottles and bring them home with me and give them to my kids. The internet cost is minimal to me as I skip the initial day as it's a waste. Then I use my 2 free days and followed by a Casino 30% discount on the rest of the days in the package. Normal 7 days sail cost me in the vicinity of $50. It's a value thing, especially when one considers the cost of a drink. I figure the Vice cost around the $14 mark and the beer is $7.50 per. Don't know the cost of a coke, however, one of the few times that I signed a chit, and it was for a Miller Lite beer recently at Coco Cay. Ps. If I need any more, I'll imbibe myself in the Casino.🤣 If I need any more, I
  10. I doubt it, have you seen the pricing for us lowly Royal cruisers.🤣 One of the cheaper options was the day beds and they went from $199 to $399 + tax.. Absolutely insane.
  11. Really, better than the drink allowances.🤣
  12. I've got 3 cruises booked from Bayonne with a stop at CC and not even close to the offers shown. No mention of D and above on any of the excursions offered. As a matter of fact the pricing is simply outrageous.
  13. Isn't it a $100 pp. As a solo, that is my deposit, unless it's a certificate.
  14. Same here. Why do Ps even care what others think.
  15. Almost as bad as when they quote a Royal staff member.😜 On the August Oasis sail the DL was open from 4:30 - 8, while on the October one it was from 5-8. IMO, part of the reason that the DL is seemingly empty on certain sails is due to the traditional dining going from 6 to 5:30 and presently, at least on the Oasis, to 5. When it was 5:30, we visited the DL for about 15-20 minutes prior to dining. Even with the old HH we snuck a glass of wine into the MDR each night.
  16. Or go to the D lounge and they usually have iced water available during the day. Refill or use cups for drinking
  17. You will get on average 2-3 bottles of water as a welcome gift in your cabin. If you drink lots of water, it may get expensive, and you may want to look into some package.
  18. Where do you see this data. Recently off Oasis an at the next cruise desk I was told November/December period.
  19. However, on Coco Cay, you have to watch out for those flying pests otherwise they'll hijack your food right out of the plate.🤣 One thing that improved the experience, they got rid of those rusty loungers and beat up umbrellas and like Coco Cay laid out in advance and not waiting for some staff member to lay them out.
  20. On our August Oasis sail, we were a party of 8, but table was configured for 10. One time I saw a long table on Oasis seating some 20 Paxs, why I don't know as you won't be able to converse with those on the opposite end. When in doubt contact rcldining@rccl.com about 2-3 weeks prior to sail.
  21. Yes, loved the Tutti salad bar and the pasta station and other hot dishes. No need to step foot in the WJ for lunch. The best however was on Quantum and later the Anthem. They had a dessert table as a center piece when you entered the American Icon restaurant. The centerpiece was a chocolate flowing fountain. I used to get a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream and pour the chocolate syrup and when it touched the ice cream, it hardened just like the brown top at Dairy Queen. The also had fruits, like strawberries, bananas, etc. that one could dip into the fountain syrup.
  22. I do. I check every box that may be available to me--whether senior or residency. By the way, ref: second sentence, was it published/publicized or you just found it while doing mock bookings.
  23. At $20+ per pound it's a delicious perk.😆 The only thing that is missing are chunks of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. However, I get it at Giovanni's meat and cheese platter.
