  1. I would go absolutely bonkers if it happened to me, especially close to sail date and around the holidays.
  2. Great, as I got a $51.98 as D+ towards the S&S package on both Oasis and Allure.
  3. Many times, Royal reserves a % of excursions, dining etc. for on board booking. You can try then and go to the excursion desk as soon as you board.
  4. It’ll show on the d benefits list and on Oasis it shore 1 x 24 hours or $25.99 towards an internet package. This is per D member.
  5. Each D+ member gets a BOGO coupon that you can use on day 1 or 2. The onboard pricing for Chop's, as an example, for my Feb. 4 Anthem sail is $65 + 18% grats for a total of $77+. You can use the coupon for dinner for 2 on day 1 or 2. I sail solo and ask a Maitre D at any of the SR if I can use one half of the coupon on either day 1 or 2 and use the 2nd portion of coupon for a day other than the first 2 nights. I've been quite successful.
  6. You've got to roll with the punches, unless there's a personal attack. Remember, this whole thing started out as the lesser selections & changes in the new daily menu. And of course, it morphs to other aspects of dining, eg. quality, time, etc. The complains about quality of food preparation has been around for a long time. I can't compare it to my early sails on The Oceanic, Leonardo Da Vinci and even the rust bucket "Bermuda Star." Those meals would compete with top notch stateside restaurants. With the Bermuda Star all you heard during the day was maintenance which was titled : Chip & Paint. But the worse part of the early sailings was the ugly soot that spewed and wound up on loungers, clothing and other areas of the ship. Pure ugly stuff. When I began cruising other than tea times in the AM and PM there was basically nothing open during the day. However, we always looked forward to the midnight buffets.
  7. On my December Oasis sail, maybe because I was going in and out between my phone and laptop, that I had to log out especially from the laptop.
  8. Easy to log in and out. Only one user and pass code.
  9. One thing that I noticed how empty the dining rooms were. Also, as comparison regarding timeframe they should have compared the times between the old and new menus using the same ordering standards. Ps. The lobster tail did not look any bigger than the warm water ones.
  10. 2 step process. See safety film and demonstrations, which is quite important. Also, as part requirement to check in at the muster station. By the way, every cruise that I have sailed there's always some muffled sound, announcing that x # of Paxs have not done muster and warn that sailing will be delayed until all are accounted for. Has this ever happened, or the recalcitrant ones are punished later with wet noodles.🤣
  11. The 7 niter usually has the same port stops. I'm on the 8 niter February 4th sail and includes Miami. Then I have a similar 8 niter in February of '24 and Miami is missing, however and extra day at sea before PC.
  12. Possibly for passengers, it should be done continuously in terminal before boarding. Better control over the attendance of the entire Pax 🛳️population.
  13. On one of my cruises, I learned what the purpose of those looking like barrels are that are located by the lifeboats. Those are strictly for crews and other members, including performers and entertainers. In an emergency those barrels open up into chute that leads to a life raft where crew members slide into. I asked a crew member if they initiate any of them during a training session. I was told not really, as once one opens/triggered it's very difficult to put them back and need replacements. I forgot to ask him how they test to be sure that operate properly in an emergency. Question that come to mind, do performers and entertainers go thru a safety drill and identify a location to meet in an emergency, as passengers. Ps. love to see this in action.
  14. I called and was told that the r/t is $79.90 which seems reasonable compared to costs for other transport. The only downside is that the shuttle has to wait for others on the reservation list.
  15. The complaining about quality of food has been going on for more than 10 years. I've copied a post from January '10 and corresponding quote regarding a new (?) menu introduced in late '19 or early '20. #35 Posted January 10, 2010 KnittinggGirl 6.5k Looks like the same menu we had on the Jewel and Voyager. Have to agree with you. They used to be fancier. I wonder if it's because they've added Portifinos & Chopps
  16. Funny, I had Onion Soup as a staple every night on my December 4 Oasis and all of my other sails. Unfortunately, no longer offered every night on the new menu. I was so disappointed when they stopped offering it in Chop's and glad that it wound up in the MDR afterwards.
  17. Funny, on ships with sinks at the WJ, the signs suggests to wash your hands deeply for 20 seconds. The water flow it seems goes dark after 5-10 seconds.
  18. My preference is to call them as I get frustrated with the online process as the website does not show all of the cabins available on each deck. Before the upgrade, you were able to enter a cabin # to see if it was available. Speaking with alive person I'm able to ask any availability and any other concerns.
  19. If they are going to open the film with either the washy-washy song or the spy theme, it becomes comical and Paxs lose the attentiveness required.
