  1. So back to my question - whether it makes financial sense to you or not - can I upgrade the drink portion of the package ONLY to the Premier (e.g. go from $12 to $18 as the limit) on board? If so, how much is it?
  2. I'm not trying to change to the entire "Premier Fare Option". I'm only wanting to upgrade the beverage package. Still trying to figure out if that, by itself, is an option on board.
  3. Can you please find out if you can upgrade the drink package to the Premier (e.g. go from $12 to $18 as the limit) on board? If so, how much is it? I know to upgrade the whole Princess Plus (tips, wifi, drinks) to Premier (better drinks, "prizes", specialty dining, more wifi) it has to be done pre-cruise. I ask because the FAQ's state: Can I purchase Princess Plus or Princess Premier when I’m on board? Princess Plus and Princess Premier need to be purchased prior to sailing. Only the individual components of the package can still be purchased onboard.
  4. I need a little advice from people who have (this summer) done the land-first Denali & cruise. My 80+ year old parents are going on this in early September (triple Denali & Noordam) and this is their first real cruise in 40+ years. Any advice you can provide is welcome, but my specific questions are: 1. They need to fill out their check-in info, but does the health questionnaire timing mean before the cruise or land portion? 2. Since they start in the US, but are taking a cruise that ends in Canada, they need to complete ArriveCAN. Is the timing for that based on the cruise portion, or land portion? 3. Since they booked air through HAL, what do they need to do at the airport when they arrive? Will someone have a sign that say HAL and take them to the hotel? 4. When the HAL pre-tour is over and it is time to get on the ship, what do they need to do (baggage, day-of-boarding health, etc), or is it all done for them? 5. Since Canada still requires a negative COVID test, is that done through the land portion? Is it extra cost? What are the mechanics? Thanks in advance for any guidance!!!
  5. No idea if waiting is better. But you can EXPlore with your TA. 😉
  6. Not expecting anything, just curious to what's in it. If anyone has it, or has access to it, I'd appreciate understanding what is included.
  7. What might be in this new "coupon book"? Any ideas?
  8. I wish that were the case for our upcoming Xmas cruise. On "sale" it is $306 for the 9 nights (Jewel, so only 3 restaurants). I'll be eating in the MDR (and part-way to paying for another cruise).
  9. Yeah, the "sale" puts the 9 day Jewel rate at their standard "sale" of $306. Oh well!
  10. IDK what Royal is thinking... the UDP on our 9 day is $324/pp (occasionally on "sale" for $306)... and this is for Jewel (only Chops, Izumi, and Giovanni's). Um, no thanks! Maybe at $200/pp... Or maybe we'll cancel and do a land-based vacation. Or just save our $$ and go on a more unusual trip later.
  11. I did confirm the suspicion with a positive test. But Celebrity doesn't provide a method to reasonably contact them. I did mention it in the post-cruise survey, so they have the information.
  12. You are correct. As soon as I felt symptoms I stayed in my cabin and put on my mask (wife has not felt bad or tested positive since; neither has our traveling partners - here's to hoping it stays that way). Only left the cabin to exit the ship (masked).
  13. Thanks, Jim. I just wanted to be responsible 🙂 I won't worry about it. Appreciate the response.
  14. Enjoyed (we were with friends) all but the last night of a recent Equinox voyage. Last night I had shivvers (assumed it was COVID) and stayed in the cabin until departure (wore N95). Who should I notify at Celebrity (in case they want to look for close contacts)? Or is it a waste of time and they do nothing with the information? Not looking for reimbursement...
  15. @JamieLogical Could you comment on the "speed" in the MDR when you had Anytime Dining? Wondering if the meal time is about 90 minutes like normal, or if it is now stretched past two hours due to lower staff counts? Not looking for fast food, but don't want to spend most of my cruise in the dining room. Wait, what am I saying... of COURSE I want to spend more timing the dining room 😋 TIA!
  16. Thanks @Jim_Iain and @39august . I guess I will plan for one night, whenever it is!
  17. Can any recent Equinox traveler (6 night) tell me which nights are chic? I was looking at the menus in the app and couldn't really determine which might be the fancier night(s)? Thanks!
  18. @RobertybobUK does it leave from England? If so, my belief is that includes gratuity. The premium limit would be adjusted to include this, if that is the reason ($15 -> $18)
  19. When we were on the Jewel over Xmas (same issue) with UDP. Both Chops & Giovanni's were "special menu" only so we went to Izumi. Normal menu there.
  20. yes (same rules as far as the $ cap and overage charges, if appropriate).
  21. We had UDP on Jewel for a holiday cruise. Izumi was included ($35/pp would have been the cost for the appetizer + 2 dishes + dessert). We didn't need more as we were full. In fact, we didn't do dessert one of the times. The menu is very similar to page 1 of this
  22. Let's face it, the RCCL/Celebrity IT staff has some challenges. The online upgrade has never worked for me (never been available). They have all the information (what is included, what my status is for discount, how much OBC I have). So instead it takes a phone call. Normally, not an issue. Now... hours of wait time. However, I was able to upgrade (and got my discount) and use available OBC. This is for a cruise in less than a month. Try calling at different times. You *might* get lucky!
  23. I can get an approximate (yes, I know there is variation between categories) level of vacancy by going to the Celebrity site and doing a mock booking and selecting the Veranda type, then Veranda stateroom. I then click See DeckPlan and do the list view. Then I count the available cabins (in my case about 225 empty). On the Equinox there are approximately 200 "regular" balcony cabins per deck on decks 6-9. That means 225/800 = 28% vacant cabins. If I wanted to be more accurate I could calculate for other classes / types, but that gets me a "good enough" number.
