  1. It was. I was the one that posted that on the Asia ports page and I just didn't post the whole thing. Oceania is offering $300/pp for folks that have DIY air. In addition, if we wanted to cancel we could with no penalty for the next 7 days.
  2. Thanks for posting these. I couldn't get to the article either.
  3. This is the email they sent me: Dear Valued Guest, We have an important update to the itinerary for your upcoming voyage aboard Nautica. Due to the uncertainty surrounding access to ports in China, your cruise will now conclude in Keelung, the port for Taipei, Taiwan. To express our appreciation for your understanding with this change, we will be providing you with a 20% discount to the cruise fare reserved for your voyage. Guests with airfare that has been reserved through Oceania Cruises will automatically have their air arrangements revised to depart from Taipei at the conclusion of the voyage. They have already credited me the 20% but have not changed my air as yet.
  4. I was scheduled to be on the Oceania Nautica March 2023 from Singapore to Hong Kong. We just received notice that our cruise will now not go to Hong Kong at all but will instead visit two ports in Taiwan and finish in Taipei. I had used Oceania air so they will make the changes, but this trip is celebrating my 50th and my moms 80th birthdays so we are still going unless something else changes.
  5. It's definitely different. I spent time in Jordan and Egypt and this is a very typical thing there. It has a very unique taste, but I liked it...Kind of reminded me of peanut butter and bananas, although in the Middle East, they do not add the chocolate. That gave it a kind of weird flavor IMHO.
  6. I boarded the Sunshine the day you got off and thought the exact same thing! It had even changed since I was on her in July. Still I love her and I will be back in December. Going to be super sad when she leaves Charleston though...Its my closest port too.
  7. I was on this cruise the first week of April 2018. I needed a jacket at most times and sometimes a fuzzy hat to keep my ears warm! Still a wonderful trip and I would 100% go again!
  8. I am on 6234 next year for my first Alaska cruise. How is the cabin other than the smoke? I am on the Elite next June. First Elite, First Alaska! Very excited.
  9. My family and I did the Mardi Gras this past Thanksgiving and we loved every minute of it! Always something to do for all ages.
  10. I was on the Pride in Europe in May and there really wasn't much to do on the ship if you do not get off in port. However, I've also done that same 8 day itinerary and its really cool so I would say go for the Pride and enjoy the extra days!
  11. This is true. The shop in the Carnival terminal in Barcelona sells liquor to bring on board, but you don't have to buy it there in order to bring in onboard.
  12. This is not true. However, since you can bring alcohol on in every port on European cruises, it may not be worth it in Europe.
  13. I had a no-show on the Mardi Gras in March 2022 with no fee.
  14. Had that situation twice so far on Carnival. Taxes, port fees, and any prepaid gratuities/packages will be refunded. If not directly to you on-board account than within a week to the original form of payment. I've had one of each happen.
  15. Do you know anyone else on the cruise over 25? If you do, you could link your reservation to theirs and they will in essence be your "guardian." Since you are over 18 your cabin does not need to be near them, they would just need to agree to take responsibility. Assuming, of course you are not going to be a crazy cruiser! 🙂
  16. No. Global Entry card only works for land crossings to Mexico and Canada.
  17. We stayed one extra night in Barcelona because of flight schedules but we tested at the airport. Made an appointment ahead of time for 30 euros. There were some SNAFU's as the system went down on Monday for about 2 hours so there were no tests being given but once the system was back up, it went very quickly. Our flight was at 1:30pm and we made an appointment for 10:30am. That was plenty of time. https://flycovidtestcenter.com/test-rapido-de-antigenos/ This is where you make the appointments. Walk ups are risky. Several people in that line could not make their flight.

  19. My question would be: Have you been to Rome before? What about the rest of the ports you would be stopping at? I have been on multiple Med cruises and I use them as kind of a teaser to see if I want to go back to that particular place for a longer land vacation. A way to get a taste of several European cities without being tied to just one for the first time. If you have already been to all of them and Rome is your favorite, stay in Rome and enjoy!
  20. This is what I do, sometimes it takes a few days for them to respond but they always do. For future cruises, what I do is save the offer email in the same folder as the cabin confirmation email. That way I always know which offer I used. It only took me 3 or 4 emails to OPC to think of doing that! 😁
  21. We are on the same cruise, only we are staying an extra night after debark. Just checked the site and reserved spots for Monday. Thanks!
