  1. Glad you saw the date 😄 But I really wish OP would update, lol.
  2. I forget but I was doing a Google search on something. Pretty sure not vomit, though!
  3. I meant what happened back then, they never came back to update and they just left me hanging here on the edge of my seat. 😭 Yes, I realize it was an old post but I was hoping OP would somehow see the activity...
  4. I'm 33 days out just started packing, I am very eager... I like to know what I am missing and if I need to buy anything.
  5. We probably will have one full size and a smaller carry on with a swimsuit and one outfit per person. Also, the fourth person is 4 years old so her clothes are really small. 😂
  6. I don't know what I should call it, a lookbook or a vision board, but I've started taking pictures of the pieces I plan to take. I plan to make an image using all the pictures. I really am just doing it for fun because I like clothes, I know it might seem silly to some! So far I have photographed all of the casual pieces, I need to photograph my formal dress... I would ask if any of you guys do this but I'm guessing I'm the only one. 😂
  7. I have debated about eyelash extensions but I had a friend who got them and she got ones they weren't even that big... She told me she could definitely feel them all the time and she thought that they would feel more natural than they do. Ever since then I'm like.. hard pass. I don't fully mind my natural lashes, anyways. I think I see other people with these big lashes and feel like I need them to fit in... A little bit of societal pressure! If you can do magnetic lashes I would just do that... I haven't tried them yet myself, though.
  8. Depending on the suit, maybe they would look good mixed and matched. Navy and black are both neutral. I actually have tankinis like this and many of them look good together. I have three with blue bottoms and two with black bottoms. All of them look relatively good mixed and matched. One of the one that has the blue bottoms actually has a lot of black detail in it and black mesh sections...
  9. We don't always swim but we like to have two swimsuits per person. That way if we do swim one of the suits can be drying and the other one will be dry so we're not putting a wet swimsuit on if we swim 2 days in a row. I cannot imagine packing more than two swimsuits. I was watching a pack with me video on YouTube where a girl took 12 swimsuits because she was going on a 12-day cruise, so she wanted to wear a different swimsuit everyday, which is crazy to me!
  10. I pack neutrals, mostly black shoes. I pack a pair of brown flip flops, a pair of black casual sandals, a pair of black dress shoes, and a pair of black Asics sneakers. I am looking at replacing the casual sandals soon with a pair that is tan and cream. I love shoes too but I just don't have the space to pack eight pairs. I have a family of four and we try to fit as much as possible in one suitcase. Last time we took two full sized suitcases but since we didn't use half of what we took we're going to try and get it down to one suitcase this time!
  11. Amazon sells pocket pharmacy containers that are really small and I de-pot my pills into the little pocket pharmacy container. The container comes with labels so you can label what's inside. To get these containers it's like $5 for a pack of four or something, they're really affordable. I don't even need four I just use one but the four pack is a cheap option.
  12. I have used CeraVe but one approach I also take is using a face powder makeup that has SPF and also foundations that have SPF. It seems to work pretty well I haven't burned on my face yet. I do bring the powder with me and just keep dusting myself with it periodically. When I'm using is physicians formula. I don't swim in the face makeup, so if you're going on a beach excursion or if you plan to be in the pool that probably wouldn't work. Also doubt it would be friendly.
  13. I'm here for it! What size are the dresses? If you have any shorter ones with they still fit someone who is tall? Like midi dresses? Also I have a plum colored one size fits all type dress that would fit anyone probably under a size 12 maybe even up to a size 14. It is the type of dress you can wear multiple ways. I am tall and it fits very well but supposedly you can cut it down to size using a scissors. It comes with a bando so you can wear it a little more risque if you like. I chose a very modest approach but there's multiple ways to tie it. I also have a dress that's a little more casual it's a floral blue dress in size large tall it could be worn for Carnival formal night but probably not for many others. It looks more like a church dress, my husband hates it. He says I look like I'm from Little House on the Prairie when I wear it. So if anyone needs a church dress let me know. Lol.
  14. My oldest has always slept on the pull-down. He is 14 now but he's been sleeping on it since he was like 6. It has a railing. Honestly, the ladder scares me more than the railing. You got to make sure the ladder is in the little bracket thing. I don't know what to call it but the little indentation that is there for the ladder to sit in. Edited to add: when we pullman there wasn't an attachment from the railing to the floor. But still was completely safe there was a railing it just didn't attach down to the floor.
  15. For embarkation day I wear my bulkiest items. So a pair of jeans, a casual top, and a hooded sweatshirt. For my shoes, I wear my sneakers since they take up the most room. This just saves on how much I'm packing in my suitcase. If weather is colder I will bring a coat to wear as well. Most of my cruises I don't need a coat but I do like a light jacket, that's where the hoodie comes in. I also always pack a lightweight cardigan sweater for the dining room. I always get cold in the MDR.
  16. One pair flip flops for the pool, one pair of dress shoes, one pair of sneakers, one pair casual sandals. So four pairs of shoes! For my dress shoes I make sure I bring black since they will go with almost anything. Most of my shoes are neutrals, my sneakers are black Asics with a little tiny bit of silver detail.
  17. jclinard - You're clearly quite jaded but why not just get a cheaper plan as it's better than nothing? You're acting like it's go big or go home. That's just my thoughts. If you're booking a luxury cruise then obviously you might be out quite a hunk of change but I personally figure that even if I just get my premium back at least I tried. Say I paid $150 I'd *hope* to get hundreds or thousands but at least if I got my $150 I tried my best to insure my trip. When I made my claim I think I got $500 or $600 but we'd only paid in $100-something so we got back more than what we'd put into our plan. It was better than nothing...
  18. I look into travel insurance and purchase every time I cruise. I spent several hours pouring over the fine print this past weekend. I got several quotes from several websites and purchased the best coverage that I felt we could afford. We ended up purchasing with Allianz (this time direct through Allianz /not using a broker) rather than the cruise line and I did do optional add-ons. We full well realize it won't cover everything that could crop up but we have had to file a claim in the past. It's been awhile I can't remember who the policy had been through but we'd purchased that one through insure my trip (I just don't recall if it was Allianz, AIG, etc etc). At that time my inlaws had to make a similar claim through their cruise line insurance (Princess') and their payout was less than what we got (they still were happy, though and they still prefer the ease of just paying more to buy through the cruiseline).
  19. I've been on a Po' boy kick lately, making them myself but they certainly aren't cheap to make in 2023, lol. I've been slow cooking either beef or pork roasts and making custom mayo blends. I also love a good BLT with nice crispy bacon and shredded lettuce, yum.
  20. As a rule, my family prefers to not be flashy! Definitely safer that way wherever you may be traveling to. Flashy jewelry or designer brands plastered all over yourself is not the best idea. Anyone who must do those things is assuming all involved risk, haha.
  21. Where I live they charge a fee to convert USD at our banks (I believe it's a $10 processing fee)! Definitely cheaper to just pay the 50 cent penalty, give or take. I mean either way they will be able to tell I'm not a tourist. Regardless, thanks to OP for this rec. 🙂 I'd definitely give it a go but just would skip the pesos part. 🙂 So thank you!
  22. The arch is nice, took my son on a water taxi tour when he was about 2. I haven't done Medano Beach. When the tour / water taxi dropped us off at Lover's Beach (I believe that's the one by the arch if I'm not mistaken?) We asked if we could just stay on the water taxi ride back to the ship, we were only there to get an up close view of the arch. They let us, we just had to wait for any other pax who also wanted to head back.
  23. I know a lot of people like to showboat and look expensive, but I honestly feel it's always safer to fly below the radar. Very basic tees, solid colors, no fancy jewelry, no name brands. Maybe that's just me. I personally always feel safe in port and I live 2 hours from Vegas. I feel safer in Mexico, Vegas is nuts man lol. I mean it doesn't stop my fam from going to Vegas, but just sayin' it isn't the safest place to go by any means!
