  1. Price has gotten way out of control now imho. I can see an upcharge but it's now a bit steep. Always some poor chump gonna pay up, lol. $$$
  2. Yes, the beach life on the U tube has a video. Check that out. πŸ™‚
  3. That sounds amazing! If we want to sail her again we'll have to check that out! We're trying a family harbor inside this time. Lattes for days....
  4. Why? I mean my question is answered but why is my post an issue? If someone doesn't want to be in here they can X out.
  5. We sail very soon so just making sure the sign is still up directing us to the beach. I'm talking about the red sign with white letters and an arrow (again, Puerta Vallarta port sign for Playa de Oro). My understanding is that once I get off ship and walk straight I should see this sign. Thanks so much!
  6. I know about "secret decks" I know about the specialty resteraunts like Mongolian Wok, Guy's Burgers, and the Italian place offering a free (limited) lunch on sea days. I know I could take a shower in the locker room by the fitness area for more spacious showering experience. I now know about hiding/looking for ducks. I read the Lanai areas often aren't crowded and are a nice tranquil spot in addition to the secret decks. So, anything else I'm missing? Ages ago it was easier to find little hidden gems than it is now. That was one of my favorite parts of cruising besides like the anticipation/planning, was finding these little hidden gems.
  7. * Say Costco... indoor places like say Costco. IDK why but it's not letting me edit ^^ (for a second time, maybe I'm only allowed one or something?) but that typo is *so* annoying, lol.
  8. Exactly this, as my oldest got older it was easier for a lot of reasons. Even if kids club were closed and I'd want to tote him to an activity it wasn't an issue. He loved learning how to fold towel animals or do crafts at those activities and we'd take him to trivia with us. He also loved the tea time where they serve teas and cookies/cakes. Biggest issue would be night time and adults ony things or say an adults only pool area.
  9. Have you thought of smashing the chewable and sneaking it into applesauce or something similar? That just might do the trick as long as you can stir it around enough where it still just looks like applesauce.
  10. Maybe OP means leaking through the sheet where it's soaking the couch or the mattress. If you don't have a heavy wetter I wouldn't even bring a protector. My daughter is 2 we're just bringing Huggies overnights as she's not a heavy wetter. Usually at most her PJs are wet but sheets aren't really. My son was the same and we never brought a mattress protector either, again just Huggies overnights diapers. I definitely don't brng special bed contraptions, hard pass. At most Id bring an inflatable bed rail. We've been considering the bed rail but I really think our almost 3 y/o will be ok without a bed rail, tbh, so I think we're even gonna pass on that. Bed rail is for keeping a kid in a bed has nothing to do with wetting bed, just saying that's the only special contraption I'd bring. I wouldn't even bring an inflatable tub for bathing but to each their own.
  11. Apples to Oranges they've all had different pros and cons. Itinerary I'd say Hawaiian Islands for us. Line I'd say NCL pre-COVID as I hear lately they've had issues with keeping kids clubs open and running this past year but pre-COVID their kids club was top notch compared to Princess and Carnival. I mean none have been a terrible experience I don't feel you can go wrong. The only thing that could break an experience for us would be boring entertainment and multiple customer-service issues in a single cruise. We've had a few sailings with lackluster entertainment bur usually we felt it was made better with say better food or something and we've never had more than a few customer service hiccups, nothing major.
  12. I've never had problems having my son make-up his work. Teachers have always been very accomadtaing/understanding. My son is a gifted student but he's also very lazy. So he has the ability but not the drive ...but we're still able to just get it done. I can only speak for us and our experiences but I'd say up to 14 days would be doable but not any more than that. A child who struggles more academically might need a tutor or something. If your kids normally can keep up and get decent grades with no assistance then I'd say give it a try and don't worry unless you have one bad experience. Worth a try at least once! When my son struggles with motivation after a trip I remind him this is the price we pay for vacations. lol. He thinks it's worth it when I remind him lol, gentle reminders help.
  13. A 2 week long Hawaiian islands cruise. My son was 2 or 3, I think he might have been 3. Everyone had a blast, yes. Our consideration was mostly itinerary we wanted to sail from California and we wanted to go to Hawaii. If I recall, it did both. I mean 2nd consideration was price, CL was a bonus but negotiable. We really feel our experiences with sailing with our kids have mostly been positive even when CLs had less entertainment options we all still had fun. We've sailed with Princess once or 2x with our kiddo and even though it didnt have all the bells and whistles like water slides, etc. all my kid needed was the Kid's Club. He always loves the kids clubs. Our upcoming cruise is our first with 2 kids and our daughter so maybe having 2 kids will change the experience to a less positive one? Time will tell. This will be our son/oldest's 5th or 6th cruise... but our daughter's 1st!
  14. Carnival comedians in my opinion have far surpassed the comedians I've seen on NCL and Princess. Is it as good as some of the well known comedians you'd pay to see on land? Maybe not but I mean neither are the dance shows or other entertainment but for being included I agree with Susan that the comedy is good. I also don't remember any jokes about toilets, unless you mean like adult potty humor or that you think it's raunchy/trashy. That'd be a matter of opinion because my husband and I do enjoy adult themed humor.
  15. If it were my decision alone I'd say drive the extra. After sailing an older ship I found the entertainment lacking. I've not been on Glory but I bet the entertainment would be better on Mardi Gras. I also do agree that nobody really can answer this for you. All of us have different priorities. Also, I have 2 kids and if they aren't happy... if they're bored and whiny then Mama's also unhappy... lol.
  16. My thoughts exactly, if it's just an item or 2 no point doing a full load, ty. πŸ™‚
  17. I was thinking that when I read the comment about the sink plug not working, I was thinking maintenance could fix.
  18. Another reason would be the fact I have a toddler so it's one more thing to try and make sure she won't ingest. Obviously I will try and keep that stuff away from her / watch her closely (but all it takes is a second, seriously) but at home it's definitely easier to keep chemicals/unsafe liquids up high or locked. Shampoo is definitely safer. Tide comes in such a fun colored pouch definitely eye catching to a toddler. My daughter is more of a concern than my son was at her age, she is more mischevious and just loves getting into stuff she shouldn't.
  19. Ditto, ditto (didn't read all agree on 7+ days) I think Carnival is a great way to dip your toe into cruising if you do a 7 day Carnival and hate it, don't give up until you try say 2 other lines. Different strokes for different folks. I would say there's a 2 x 2 rule try 2 more different itineraries on Carnival and try 2 other lines as well before deciding no more cruises. Every cruise experience is different. I've sailed 3 lines and at least 2x per each line I liked all 3 lines but not every time, there's been pros and cons to every cruise I've had.
  20. Once (not recently) I sailed Carnival and asked if they could make me a BBC like on Princess. NCL knows what this is (in my experience) and I'd never had an issue on NCL with getting one. When i asked at Carnival they just asked what it was and I told them Bailey's Banana Colada and they whipped one up for me that tasted pretty much perfect. Now I'm sure I was at one of the bars that was doing frozen drinks. I doubt everyone would be that lucky but it's worth the ask, worst they can do is say no.
  21. Awesome, without Cheers and this would be worth a try for me!
  22. Great, that'd be perfect. We sail Dec 2nd on Panorama πŸ™‚
