  1. Verizon is my provider too. I have never had cell service inside the terminal though I see many others who do. I do get service onboard the ship prior to departure.
  2. You selected a good arrival time. Arriving at Cape Liberty before 10:30 will greatly lessen the traffic approaching the terminal that builds from 11 am onward, being the road is only 1 lane which expands to 2 when the terminal building is in sight. Cars are stopped prior to the terminal by port employees then directed to the luggage zone, which does not have to be utilized but must be driven through to park in the garage or surface lots. Of the multiple times I have parked in the garage only once were both elevators working. If, as usual, only 1 elevator is working, there will be a line to use that elevator upon disembarkation or skip the line and use the stairway.
  3. Yes, used it early May this year. Received an email from BLH prior to docking in LeHavre informing they would provide pick up service from the port to their meeting point in Le Havre. Unfortunately, their vehicles are not allowed into the port. To use their transport, we would have to walk from the terminal to the meeting point located just outside the port area. Chose to buy tickets in the terminal for a public bus that dropped us off exactly at the meeting point of BLH. Spent some hours exploring LeHavre as I selected the 12:45 departure. The meeting place for BLH bus transfer to Honfleur is in a plaza very close to the war memorial Was on the 3 hour transfer to Honfleur. Was surprised to learn Honfleur is the most visited city in France excluding Paris. Unfortunately it was a holiday in France and Honfleur was crowded, much too crowded. I was disoriented the whole time in Honfleur due to the crowd and able to visit only 1 of the many places I wanted to see. Found a place to sit and waited the last hour for the return bus which stops at the cruise terminal (near the ship-unlike pickup outside the port) and in town at the meeting location. I would use BLH again if in Le Havre. Unfortunately the many visitors made enjoying Honfleur less than anticipated.
  4. No problem. I had not seen your subsequent posts when I quoted your first reply with your irrelevant incorrect additional info "up from $20 two years ago". For the number of cruises I sail from Bayonne, I wish the daily rate was $20 not the present $30.
  5. When are you sailing? If it is during the months that 2 Royal ships and Celebrity sail from Bayonne, most likely you will be directed to surface parking lots not the garage. The road leading to the terminal is 1 lane which expands to 2 when the terminal is in sight. Arriving before 10:30 am will minimize the time waiting to approach the terminal. All vehicles must pass through the luggage drop zone regardless if they utilize it or not.
  6. No, parking at the terminal was $25 2 years ago and earlier. I did b2b on Oasis in October 2021. It was announced that the $30 parking fee was to go into effect on the second cruise, fortunately it did not and the $25 rate was in effect in 2022 as well.
  7. My first Royal cruise, I was unaware of what was allowed or not, I had a similar item in my backpack. It was confiscated by security, told I could retrieve it at the end of the cruise. I did not bother as I did not buy the pocket knife, rather found it in a street. As I boarded, an alarm went off which I am convinced was due to having that item minutes earlier.
  8. Based on the replies the only potential confusion is from those living in NJ and local too. No ticket is needed to ride the free monorail. No monorail ticket is sold anywhere at EWR for patrons to be able to use the monorail nor do monorail riders need to possess a ticket to board or exit the monorail. It is only NJT tickets for trains servicing EWR airport station that are incur a surcharge and by the way, the surcharge is not paid separately as it is included in the fare of the NJT ticket, not that it matters(as it did not to me weeks ago) other than it is the cost of the NJT train ride not the monorail ride. I am aware of at least 2 out of state posters, who because local people posted of the surcharge imposed by NJT on their customers only, who thought there is a fee to use Air Train. As you stated in # 16... "were you riding Air Train within the grounds? Yes it's free for that" ...which confirms what I wrote post 3 yet you felt the need to correct what I wrote but now agree. Thanks. Out of town visitors could care less that there is a surcharge only for NJ Transit EWR train station users. They do care if they are mislead into thinking from what they read on this board that there is a fee associated if using the monorail. They now have my post and your post confirming they will not incur a fee.
  9. Actually it’s not., you have your mileage numbers wrong. I’m local.
  10. I do know there is a surcharge added to NJT tickets for service to EWR train station. I incurred that fee a few weeks back. What’s your point? Are you also falsely claiming users of Air Train between terminals at EWR have to pay to ride transportation? They don’t. You as a NJ resident should know that. If you noticed, I stated to the op more Amtrak trains likely stop at NPS but I appreciate your confirmation too. I took Amtrak from Newark Penn in the winter to Baltimore on the same day of a cruise. No problem, train arrived earlier than scheduled. The only delay encountered was in the Uber driving to the port due to a road closure. I do agree with the advice of arriving in a port city prior to sailing day. Also encountered no delay returning to Newark Penn early afternoon from Baltimore in the winter. As I exited NPS I did encounter a man on his way in who asked me for money for his train ticket. He was not homeless, dressed no worse than me. He turned direction and proceeded to follow me stating reasons why I should give him money. Thankfully the Uber arrived exactly when I reached the pick up location.
  11. Where in this thread did anyone post about riding NJT to EWR train station? The overwhelming majority of travelers at EWR do not use NJT such as the original poster. Posts that claim there is a charge for using AirTrain (monorail) only confuses visitors. No ticket is required to ride the free monorail including to the EWR train station. For anyone flying into EWR and using AirTrain between terminals, to the shuttle pick up station, to the rental car location you will not be charged despite posts in this thread stating Air Train is not free. Thanks for confirming that Newark Penn Station is further to Cape Liberty.
  12. Took the free monorail, though some posters prefer to insist there is a cost to ride the monorail which serves only to confuse visitors, 3 weeks ago. Took a total of 3 minutes from the EWR airport train station to a terminal. The EWR station is closest to Cape Liberty in Bayonne.
  13. Newark Airport train station is closer to Cape Liberty than Newark Penn Station. Estimate $35 for taxi or Uber from EWR to CL. Amtrak likely has more trains stopping at NPS .
  14. After passing facial recognition at CL, there are exits to the left and right. For those parked in the garage the exit is to the right. Signs indicate all others should exit left though cruisers using taxi service((not car service) should also exit right for a shorter walk to the parking lot taxi service is located. You exited the terminal to the left and encountered the longer walk to the garage just as cab riders would as they must use the crosswalk located at the entrance of the parking garage. Next time, exit right. There are a few agents in booths behind the facial recognition scanners to declare purchases.
  15. There is another hotel in Ridgefield Park that has the MCT package. Think it is the Hilton. The Fairfield Inn in North Bergen also has a MCT package.
  16. I am researching for a 2025 Rome visit & have no experience with TAM bus. Being that it is the only bus that serves FCO from Ostiense, that may appeal to you but there are 3 other bus lines to FCO from Termini, Terravision,SIT & Rome Airport bus . The Leonardo Express train is 14 Euro but I found the regional FL1 train from Roma Trastevere is cheaper at 8 Euro and a shorter ride in time. Trastevere is easier for me from my hotel than Termini and Leonardo Express & I will use the regional train next year.
  17. As posted in #2 NJ Transit trains from Newark Penn Station will get you to NY Penn Station. PATH trains (different from NJ Transit) can get you to lower Manhattan & 33rd Street in NYC. Light rail serves Newark and surrounding areas, not NYC. Was in NPS last December and there are booths staffed by people that will sell NJ Transit tickets. There is also an info window near the ticket booth & seating area manned by a security guard. NJtransit.com will be helpful, especially their 'plan your trip' link.
  18. You missed that the poster originally stated they were flying into LGA which is why I gave the advice I did. When they wrote they were flying into EWR, hotels on International Blvd. would be an option, not having to travel from NYC.
  19. Did the train from Le Havre to Rouen, easy trip with the exception of getting a taxi to and from the train station. It was a holiday in France and I departed the cruise terminal at 7 am before any taxis were at the terminal. Also check Bee Le Havre. At present they do not have a tour to Rouen but our guide 2 weeks ago mentioned they will be adding one.
  20. There is free, though limited, parking at the Tear Drop memorial. The entrance to that parking lot is about where employees are stationed before the drop zone. Stay in the right lane as you approach the terminal. Then go further right when you see the employees or tell them you are going to the memorial.
  21. I am aware of a large/lengthy cut out area past the luggage drop zone and just past the terminal entrance doors. It is where the overhead canopy from the bus drop zone leads(via crosswalk) to the terminal entrance. As already advised, speak with the traffic personnel stationed prior to the luggage zone.
  22. Either option will get you to the toll plaza. There will be no sign indicating CFW leads to the turnpike & it may be easy to pass the right turn onto CFW if cars ahead of you are not turning there. If you pass Costco, you have missed the turn for CFW & then just continue straight to the traffic light and turn right onto 440. If you need a ticket at the toll plaza be aware there is/was 1 lane there that has the dispenser not at car height but much higher for truck drivers.
  23. After paying the toll at exit 14A, there are 3 route options to Cape Liberty. Avenue E is 1, 440 is another. The easiest option is via Chosin Few Way. Stay left after the toll plaza, go up the ramp-following signs for CFW & 440.Exit right onto CFW (ignore the small sign for the terminal pointing to 440). CFW to the end. Left onto Goldsborough. 2 miles to the terminal. There are no traffic lights on CFW as on 440 or Avenue E.
  24. Of all locations listed in this thread Jersey City is the closest to NYC. The view of lower Manhattan from JC is spectacular. PATH train service will get you into NYC 10-15 minutes from Jersey City, if you care to visit pre cruise. Hotels in Jersey City will most probably charge you to park overnight & their rates will be higher than other locations listed.
  25. Did you not go to the coffee shop Cafe Latte-tudes on deck 6? Opened 6:15 every morning on my 12 night cruise in December. Good coffee & great staff.
