  1. Since you mentioned a PVP I will infer that the OBC came from Carnival and thus it's nonrefundable. If it was from a TA then it would be refundable.
  2. Great to see that the palate full of kitty litter arrived so Cats can go on this week.
  3. Lucked out big time. Saw the thread and rolled the dice. Cancelled our Cheers for two sailings on the MG that I had just bought last week before the price increase. Ended up saving just over 65 per cruise. Did the same with steakhouse purchases and also bought 1000 in cruise cash for 800. Ended up saving just under 350.00. Will just flip the cruise cash for new gift cards from Cherry on Top.
  4. A more damaging glitch happened a few years ago on RCI when they were selling the UBP for 18.00 per day.
  5. It never would have worked for your December cruise because it was only good through mid November. Perhaps the 3 day length came into play. It worked on my 7 day cruises on the Mardi Gras in August and September.
  6. It was never good on cruises in 2023.
  7. Do it. Add the 500 on each of the cruises. It will cost you 400 and you can tell yourself to go to Cherry on Top and buy a 500 gift card each cruise. You then come out 200 ahead and you have 1000 to spend on a future cruise.
  8. The cruise cash can only be used on board. You can buy up to 500.00 worth of cruise cash and it'll cost you 400.00. The 400 needs to be paid with either a credit card or a Carnival gift card. If you have gift cards from AARP or Allstate, then you're saving an extra 10%. I got 1000 worth of cruise cash for 800, less 80 using gift cards, so it was only 720.
  9. Don't drag your feet making your decision. Some of the classes are filled on our Mardi Gras sailings the last week of August and first week of September. The classes were the one thing that wasn't mentioned as having a May 1 price increase, but I knew they were 30 when we cruised in February and they are now 35.
  10. I rolled the dice and cancelled my Cheers that I bought before the price increase last week. After cancelling the first one I went onto another browser to repurchase it and it went through. After the second one, I tried it again and it blocked me, but I was successful after using my cell phone. Ended up saving 65.26 for each 7 day sailing.
  11. The only cabin that will accommodate 5 adults would be an Excel Suite DS. There are 4 of them on board 11363, 11359, 12367, 12363. But 5 adults and 1 bathroom don't seem like a good mix. Another option if you want to go with a value cabin would be the premium interior which is 4N or 4O. The 4 N is on decks 4, 5, 9, 10. There are 7 of these cabins together on deck 5 midship. There are two pairs side by side on deck 9 forward. With the 4O, these are on decks 11, 12, 14, 15. The best are a pair on deck 15 in the aft, 15501, 15484 and they're side by side. There are 3 sets of pairs on deck 11 forward. Good luck.
  12. The price savings using the promo code versus the April cost is 4.66 pp per day. It came out to 65.26 savings for two people for a 7 day cruise.
  13. Frustrating versus our other two post Covid trips. We did the Celebrity Apex in January who had a mini buffet open till 100 am and the Discovery Princess had their International Cafe open 24 hrs. It was an area that had mini sandwiches, pastries, vegetable crudites and espresso based coffees. It was also on deck 5 off of their central Piazza. The only thing I have seen better than the IC cafe was the 24 hour pub open on the newer builds on NCL.
  14. No, it isn't refundable means that if you still go on your cruise and you change your mind about your purchase, you can't get your money back.
  15. Just saved almost 350.00. Canceled Cheers and Steakhouse for B2B on Mardi Gras in August and September, saving 148.00 over April pricing. Bought 1000 in cruise cash, saving another 200.00.
  16. One is the newest and largest in the world. The other is slightly smaller and built 13 years ago. Even though the Oasis was "amplified", there are still nuances like number of outlets and USB ports in the cabins as well as worn carpeting to be considered. When you compare a brand new ship to one that's 13 years old, there's going to be areas that are dated.
  17. Should have kept the VIFP savings for yourself and purchased Cheers last Monday before the 8.00 pp increase. After factoring in the extra 10% for Cheers on board and Cheers gratuities, it's gonna cost about 33 per day extra for Cheers for the two of you, or over 231 for the week.
  18. My pleasure, just paying it forward.
  19. Maybe that will happen at the same time there are more food options after 10:00 pm. Possibly on the Celebration?
  20. Different item. They have the build your own similar to Jiji's and Mongolian Wok. They also have three types of broth bowls with different proteins, noodle types and vegetables, all in a delicious broth that eats more like a soup than a stir fry. Have only seen it in the MG and Chibang is only open for lunch on the 3 sea days. If you're a fan of the brunch, go there early for breakfast so you can go to Chibang for lunch.
  21. If you cruise often, I would recommend that you go and purchase a scooter. That's what I did for my DW and it works out great. Got the Golden Technology Scoot Around Carry On which was built for cruising. Folds down to 12 inches in height and also has an optional FAA compliant battery for flying. Have used it on 3 B2B's totalling 40 days so far this year and have another 40 days booked later this year.
  22. Entertainment can be just as subjective as food is. It all depends upon your likes and dislikes and when you grew up. We did 14 days on the MG in February and have another 14 days booked over Labor Day. Since you didn't like Rock Revolution and only like family oriented comedy, you're probably parents in your 30's who did not listen to the music your parents would have listened to which the Rock Revolution show was based on. On the other hand, looking forward to seeing RR in August and comedy wise we went to one family and about 10 adult shows over our B2B. Will agree with you about Shaq's chicken and his fries being a notch above the new ones at Guy's. The noodle bowl with broth at Chibang's for lunch on sea days was fantastic, once again proving that food is subjective.
