  1. Great review did this cruise end of Nov in the Garden Villa my 16th with NCL had the beach villa and always go to Maya Chan!! One thing I learned along time ago always bring Imodium they do not sell it on board and any indication is automatic lockdown. I have a sensitive stomach and the sugary drinks get to me too. Glad you enjoyed the ship is beautiful after the refurb and the service was top notch!! Already booked the 9 day for next Nov out of NOLA this time on the Pearl with added ports in Grand Cayman and Guatemala. Can't wait!!

  2. I am currently in a Balcony B2 cabin on Escape and my current bid to H7 is 1180 ea. I have become obsessed with this bidding nonsense! It's terrible when you lay in bed at night imagining yourself in the cabin your bidding on!

I too was obsessed and was thrilled I got in

  3. We set sail April 1st. There are 2 cabins left in the category I want and only 3 total in Haven. How many were left in the category that you wanted when you bid on yours? I already have the beverage and internet minutes with my current package and I understand that those would follow me if I won the bid.

Those are all really good thoughts! So it really isn't apples to apples when comparing! How much do you think those items are worth, if you were to take a guess?

Thanks so much for your help!

If you did a straight upgrade you would get your 200 gratuities back on your drink package and get all 5 perks. I watched the H6 Aft 2 room 2 bathroom Penthouse for 4 weeks it went from 9 available down to 3 right before sailing. Upsell/bid was not accepted until Tues before sailing. We had 3 groups bidding and we all got in for different Haven suites our bids were high poor for a H5 low fair for H6 and H4 2 bedroom. You should hear next week and in my opinion you should be accepted. What are you currently in? I was in a spa minisuite on Escape and my Accepted bid to H6 was 900 ea.

  4. Some suggestions - how far out? You should look at a mock booking to see how many cabins are available in the category you want. I had my bid accepted for an Aft 2 room Penthouse and bid in the low fair range still saving 2k bidding vs upgrade. Have you taken into account if you upgraded on your own you wouldn't pay the taxes on drink and sp dining package and would get all 5 perks? Possibly 3rd sails free. Bringing these things up as one you make be overbidding and 2 the cost difference may be even less when you factor in some other things you may have paid for that could be refunded if you upgraded vs upsell.

  5. Thanks for sharing! Care to share how much the aft balcony cost you? I paid $3100 for 2 on balcony and put a bid in for $900/person for H9 and H5, you have me second guessing my bid.

I would call and find out what an actual upgrade would cost you or do a mock booking. I did Escape in Feb and bid 900 ea for Aft master bedroom Aft Haven Penthouse h6. Coming from a mini spa suite. Also had friends get into H5 for 650 ea and H4 for 950 approx I saved about 2500 bidding.

  6. I've been on both. I love the Dawn but would go with Escape. Spa is fantastic and if you are not in the Haven board early to get Vibe pass between Vibe and Spa you can get away from the masses. Enjoy! Food Republic, Mojito Bar, Pinchos, 5 o'clock somewhere make the food and drink choices on the Escape better.

  7. My offer also was accepted today. Email came in at 10 am. Leaving in 4 days on the Escape. We bid in the poor-fair range also. I do believe the amount for bids accepted are going to depend on the time of year. Went on the Breakaway last May and paid 1000 total for the upsell to Aft Haven balcony. We paid more this year for the same category, but we wanted it! No regrets!!

Yes upsells without the new process much easier. In Oct on the Epic went from an inside (was a package w airfare from CAS) comped out of Barcelona to a Forward Penthouse Haven 500 each. Then in Nov got the Garden Villa Dawn 2k for first 2 passengers and there were 6 of us.

  9. I went from a spa mini suite my bid was low in the fair range. My cabin was comped already. So. I paid 900 x 2 to move to Haven. Already had 3 perks and I'm platinum so I saved about 2k by bidding vs paying for an upgrade. Have the UDP UBP and prepaid gratuities. If you booked this outright total fare is 9k.

  11. Well I sail the 11th and thought for sure they would be pulling the inventory and accepting bids late yesterday. Nope still waiting inventory still there. NCL is holding out surely today has to be the day. Cruise before us posts said they were upgraded Monday. So they do not have a set schedule except as they state notification no later than 2 days prior to cruise.

  12. I know! I log into NCL about 20 times per day. I wonder if there is a specific time they send the accepted bids. I liked it better when you called the upsell dept and knew right away.

That is what started this last 2 cruises upsold. Europe penthouse on Epic and Dawn Garden Villa. Oct/nov 16. They release most I understand Mon or Tues before sailing for Haven. I watched the cruise before me and also confirmed on CC by Weds Haven was sold out. I'm with a casino group and 90% booked Haven so really would like to get in. I also have an obsession of not paying full price gotta have a deal!!!

  13. This bidding has become an obsession. Cruise is in a week. I've got bids in from high poor to mid-low fair on all categories of Haven. Hopefully Monday I'll know. Right now in a spa mini suite. What are my chances about 16 Haven cabins left been watching the inventory every day.
