Let it go.
I've cruised NCL many times, Platinum, and in the last 5 years only in the Haven suites. I've only gotten one upsell call. Let me tell you how it went.
I was booked already in a Haven 2 bedroom suite probably around 9k I'd already paid them in full. I get the upsell call....."Oh we want to give you this great opportunity to upsell into the Garden Villa". I get really excited because I've been on this message board for a decade I know about the Garden villa and upsells! She tells me that for $10k I can upsell into the Garden Villa. I say....."So I've already paid 9k, you want me to pay another 10k (19k total) for this upsell.........what?
OK, no. That is no deal. And February is a tricky month. There are a couple weeks in February (the last 2 weeks) that the New England schools have off school for February break all week and the cruise ships run full capacity. It's actually a very popular time to cruise and the upsell opportunities aren't as available.
I upsold to Garden Villa 2 months ago on Dawn 2k first 2 guests 3 and 4 free. Total cost for six 1k each. Best deal and cruise of a life time

Feb 4th on Escape. Bid on 4 Haven Suites at below "fair" on the scale. Bid the same amount for each. I don't know what the actual scale reading was since I can't access it now. Not sure if I paid too much but bid on what I thought it was worth for us so happy with the final result.
Thx I'm the week after you! Praying I get into the Haven!! Was lucky with upsell last 2 trips H5 Epic in Europe and Garden Villa on Dawn. Hoping I'm still on a roll with this new process.

Not sure if price paid for cabin enters into the equation but who knows. We had a comp'd Ocean View Balcony and upgraded to Mini-Suite for a small upgrade charge. Submitted bid below fair amount on the scale and received Haven upgrade to H6. Notified 6 days before cruise. May depend upon level of bids that are in line to fill your now vacant cabin and so on down the line for all pending bids for the cruise line to maximize income from the pending bids. Just to note I bid on all Haven class cabins that were available just in the off chance I would be accepted for one.
What ship n sail date. I am anxiously awaiting and have several bids in I am in a comped mini suite spa on Escape in February. I have 2 in low fair category and the rest mid-poor.

And this is why I only do "live" - as it takes me forever to get things done once I step off a ship. I just now wrapped a Harvest Caye video, nearly 2 months after we visited. Some video, some rehash of the "live" photos.

We'll see how long it takes me to do Maya Chan.
Great video Doug thanks for the ability to reminisce about the trip!

More cabana photos
Cabana 6 did not have sound system. I did not hear any music coming from our neighbors either was there Dec 1.
-
Did they give you the option to purchase the Harvest Caye Beach Towels?
They were plain white plush no logo
-
Payback. We weren't even off the ground yet.

LOL atouche!

Yes they supply nice towels and asked if we wanted extra.
I forgot the wifi it worked great for the cabana way better than the ships.
-
Are there towels in the cabana (beach), or do we need to bring them from the ship?
Yes they supply nice towels and asked if we wanted extra.

I wrote a short trip report of our experience on Harvest Caye with photos.
It's located on Google Blogger: http://mrtexastj.blogspot.com/
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask...
Great review a John and pics. I loved HC and the private beach cabana/villa is worth every penny!

No one has been able to charge food/drinks to their shipboard account nor able to use UBP. Where did you read that someone actually on Harvest Caye was able to use their shipboard account??
I used my ship account 12/1 at several stores and with my beach villa charges no problem. 12/1 Dawn.
-
Can anyone confirm that you can now charge food/drinks to your shipboard account? If you were able, what venue were you at? We have an OBC that we are earmarking for food/drink at Harvest Caye.
Thanks,
Lori
I charged everything even jewelry which my casino credit paid for half of it. Showed up as an excursion. Was there 12/1.

This is my first time sending in the paperwork for my shareholder benefit. I mailed it in about a week ago, and haven't seen any indication that they've received my request.
I sent them an email today to follow up, but of course have not received a response yet. Cruise is end of this month.
Do they usually acknowledge receipt of the paperwork, or let you know if your paperwork is not acceptable? (my husband and I share a brokerage account, and our statement is 36 pages. I only sent the cover page with our names/address and the one page that shows my 100+ shares of NLCH, but that page doesn't have my name on it. Wondering if that could be an issue?).
I snail mailed too about 10 days.

Hi.
For anyone that has been in a beach cabana, can you please let me know if below is correct. Someone from a face group said below comes with the cabana:
The price includes:
*Air Conditioning in the cabana
*Golf cart too/from
*Cheese and fruit plates
*Bottled waters
*Sound system
*Bathroom with shower
*Outdoor showers
*Butler/concierge
Thanks so much!
1 cheese plate and 1 fruit plate. Six bottles of water. I couldn't find the sound system. Golf cart will also take you anytime where you want to go. Enjoy.

How do you post your photos? I tried to add a photo as an attachment and it limits the photo size where the quality is gone.
Also we went to the liquor store, and the prices were lower than the ship. I bought a liter of Patron Reposado for $35 and no tax. The ship wanted $43 for 750 ml.
We also had a few 16 oz bottles of soda for $2 each. That's less than a vending machine- lol We were pleased with the food prices and also had the nachos.
Hi John not sure on the pics. I'm using my iPad mini and I just click on picture icon and then always choose medium which is in the middle there is a "best" choice also.

 WOW Thanks so much for these pictures, we are booked for 3rd week in March and cannot wait. These pictures are amazing.
Yes I agree about those Champagne prices and really hope they do not go up. I think I will be ordering bottle of Moet and bottle of Veuve :D
Question, I may have missed this but can we use on NCL Sign and Sail Card? Then I assume the Butler for the Cabana brings these for us. Of course we will tip him or her well :)
Also one other question I know several mentioned there is a liquor store and I assume there are soda's sold there. I wonder if by chance they have Dr. Pepper.
I didn't visit liquor store but they send it to the ship. Not sure about the Dr Pepper ordered Light Coke and yes we charged everything to room even jewelry which allowed for OBC from casino to pay for part of it.

Here is a link to my Harvest Caye Google Docs that includes the Land Shark as well as Manatee Bar & Grill menus. Soft drinks (Coke, Sprite, Fanta, Tonic) are $2.00 per can. My signature has a link to the Harvest Caye video slideshow on YouTube. We didn't have a cabana, so those posting pictures of them are nice since I only took outside shots.
Also, I don't remember seeing bottles of soda in the liquor store, but we didn't walk through to the back end which were colognes and perfumes.
$2 a bottle not can.
