  1. Thanks for posting these. I think we will probably order from Landshark since one in our party does not eat meat, but will eat seafood. I think the prices are very reasonable, including the bottle of wine prices. I agree with the champagne prices -- that might be something we take advantage of during our visit!

Yep I got a fish sandwich. Fries have way too much salt FYI. I also ordered the nachos I'm from TX and like hot but their jalapeños were on fire! Villa next to us had the Moët flowing and then I saw why!! Cheaper than drinks!

  2. Just realized the Captain's Party conflicts with our Los Lobos reservation, so we just asked Leah to switch it to 7:30pm. Our only chance for the Band on the Run show will be 9pm.

She is the best! I cannot say enough good about her detail, always on time, always friendly. Personal touch and treated us like royalty in the Garden Villa.

  3. Sounds like you need a kid free vacation just the 2 of you. There are many quite places when cruising you just need to research each ship. Of course the Haven offers less crowds and the private adult areas and spa. Since my kids are grown I don't go near the slides or rope courses. I did a land based vacation with my 5 kids in their 20s this past summer and I needed a vacation from that vacation[emoji849]

  4. I've seen a few recent threads talking about the upsell auction process, but a few have indicated that this is specific to the BA class ships. How are they handling the process for the rest of the ships? The only time I've received an upsell was in 2009, and NCL called 2 weeks before sailing to offer us a forward penthouse instead of the balcony we booked, for an extra $700, and I haven't sailed on NCL or followed the board since my last cruise in 2013.

Back then, the chatter was that NCL would not take incoming calls about upsells, they would only do an upsell if they initiated the call. I've seen hints in recent postings that they might now take incoming calls. So, what's the real scoop? I'm on the Dawn in February in a mini suite. I'll be happy with it, but I'd love a penthouse, but booking it outright right now will double the fare, which I really can't justify. Is there anything I can do to increase my chances for an upsell, assuming there are any penthouses available?

I did an upsell from an inside to a forward Haven Penthouse on the Epic last month by calling Upsell 3 days before sailing. I then did an upsell from Forward Penthouse on the Dawn end of this month to the Garden Villa called 27 days out. They always asked did I get an email from them and I answered no but they still offered upsell. I do hear there are plans to roll the bidding out on all ships.

  5. Hmm I sent all my docs in for 2 cruises got a call confirming they were applying. Took one cruise 2 weeks ago and credit was noted and showed up in our folio on board. Scheduled for 11/27 and there is no OBC listed. It was there now it is gone. Ugh upsold twice maybe that is why will need to get to Shareholder services!
