My take is that they are not selling well!

Not showing for me when I go on from a Canadian IP address :( I do get it though when I look at a specific sailing

It is for the 3 and 4 night cruises for this OCT and Nov. I just called back and upgraded to a penthouse suite since I'll get the full fare back on my 10 night Sapphire cruise later this year. My sapphire cruise is only in a mini suite but they say the FCC can be applied to any category. IT IS COMBINABLE with other promos too OMG it's a free cruise!!

I think it's probably intended as a way to get people to try cruising...and come back. I sure didn't get an email to tell me about it. But even as an elite I would not be above taking advantage of it to have a nice relaxing get away :D

 

I hope they do it again, because I will be on the Ruby Princess in the Mediterranean during this one!

This is on the opening page of the Princess web page. I looked at the few cruises this applied to and I can actually cruise on the Nov 4 one. I called and they said whatever amount I pay excluding port fees will be a FCC. So I booked a suite and they said YEP you'll get a FCC for that amount. I always believed if it was too good to be true it wasn't true. Tell me your take on this unbelieveable promo.

I know how you feel because i always book mid center hump cabins and did that for my next TA on Liberty. I booked directly (on the phone) with RCL no middle man to mess things up. The price dropped once and I called and got my discount because no middle man. If I had a bad experience as you did and feel as you stated how hard it would be to walk past the cabin you should have had i would cancel. I would watch for another deal on that cruise and see if another hump open up and book it myself.

There is no extra charge for the international cafe, it's included in your fare.

I won't book the last aft cabin, I don't care to view the wake. I like aft near the elevators much better.

I hope you wrote a polite letter to Princess explaining how you were not allowed to check in for the BVE at the proper time. You deserve some reimbursement for the BVE cost.

ARE you kidding? They shouldn't have been allowed to board without proper ID, Princess did them a big favor and all they can do is complain :eek: We should all write to Princess and demand they follow the protocol for homeland security for our safety.

At no time did the head waiter/maitre'd come to the table and apologise so we left with wife in tears. I have never on any cruise ship whether it be a speciality restaurant or main dining room encountered such poor service.

In tears?? Disappointments happen and your experience was horrid but tears?

I had the lobster at Sabatini's and wouldn't go back. It was mushy and fishy. We were treated to the specialty restaurant. I don't find it necessary to spend extra when there are so many great venues to eat included in my cruise fare.

There is an Elite CC member on here posting on rollcalls for any cruise he is on trying to sell his coffee cards for $20 each.

 

Seems kinda tacky to me. Is this acceptable? I give mine away.

Does it bother anyone else that when you order your morning coffee for 7 AM as your wake up service & Caffeine boost they come too early at 6:59 AM and wake you up.

Did you change your US money for Euros there or here before you left?

I've done it twice no results. Once I had a mini and was offered an upsell but the TA didn't let me know until it was too late. I hate using a TA because I keep better tabs on my own bookings.

There will be a full Panama transit after drydock ( evidently;it takes place in Freeport and she's repositionned back to the WestCoast...:rolleyes:).

As well, there will likely be a couple of ''coastal voyages'' before the resumption of her previously published schedule 5th April. ( as hinted in the cruise line's announcement).

So, you will not be on a post drydock sailing, and while your concerns about such a cruise are very justified, you don't have to worry too much as you'll likely be on the 3rd ( or even 4th ) '' post drydcok sailing.

How likely is it that they finish dry dock as scheduled. I am booked on the first sailing after dry dock April 5 2014 (have been for 3 months). I also am concerned about glitches which tend to happen after a refurb. What has been your understanding of these two issues?

3 voucher pp, that is generous for me. I usually have just one drink and stay at the Elite event for maybe 30 minutes.

 

Please don’t flame me for these few questions but……..

 

I know I can’t bring non-Elite friends ( not staying in my cabin) to the Elite function – but with a voucher what would keep us from meeting at another bar and I would use one of the vouchers to treat my friend to a drink?

I just did the Amazon on International Expeditions. Lousy lousy lousy boat!! No indoor area except the dining room so we got eaten alive by the mosquitos. No screens on doors or windows and even the cabins were full of bugs, ants, roaches, mosquitoes. If i could redo the trip I'd look at Lindblad whose boat the delfin 2 looks wonderful. We saw the Aqua and she looked grand, I wouldn't hesitate to book on that either.

If you want a free coffee mug,,,,,,,,,,wait till you get on board to purchase the coffee card........the price is the same but we pre purchased........& did not get the mug......they said it was only when u purchase onboard........so we had to go turn in the prepaid one for a refund......then go purchase a new card to get the mug.....kinda silly if u ask me.

 

Also, you get unlimited brewed coffee & tea.............but save your last specialty coffee punch because they were taking them from passengers when they punched the last punch.......therefore eliminating them from getting the brewed coffee....again,,,made no sense......(this was on the Coral 15 day panama canal cruise)

No. With the current card, you can still get fresh brewed until the end of the cruise, even if all the punches have been used.

According to this poster you don't get brewed coffee after your card is up.

No longer matters. Coffee card is now ship/cruise specific, so you can no longer save it to use on a subsequent cruise.

Last May I had an old coffee card with more then half my punches left. I presented it at the IC and it was taken from me and a newer card was given to me but it was not for the current sailing. I was told it would cost a punch for a fresh brew which is a rip off since those punches cost more then $1 which is what a fresh brew costs. I still have the card with a few punches left and they will be honored for anything but it will cost a punch, even hot chocolate is now a punch.

Princess if you really care............MAKE DECENT COFFEE and we won't need to worry about punches! Coffee is an entitlement in my book since it's a staple in many Americans life, especially in the morning :D

We cruise 3-4 times a year all over the world and never bought travel insurance. Loosing the cost of a trip or replacing a suitcase is minor compared to the tens of thousands of dollars we didn't waste. HOWEVER the really big money comes if you need medical evacuation, $100,000 isn't unheard of. That's worth insurance and we get an annual policy for $300 for two of us. It also covers us anywhere in the USA if we're more then 100 miles from home. There are multiple companies that offer this type of insurance, we use medjet. Once DH was robbed of his necklace in Buenos Aries and we submitted a claim on our homeowners insurance who paid the balance over our deductable. So I never take other insurance.
